How do we update firmware once rooted?

Title says it all.. I read that once you root the hero you cannot receive firmware updates OTA. Is this true? If it is, then how can we update our devices?

I had a stock ROM rooted, and was able to receive the OTA update and it successfully applied.

So I have MoDaCo installed, can I install the update over it?

Somewhat. I received the update OTA but it wouldnt install due to the custom recovery image.

Not from sprint, but you can load the newest FreshROM over it and be updated. However be aware that the rom breaks the link between media being played the and bt device.

I assume there should be a download of it somewhere, if not sprint, google, or HTC, then on some forum....

Me none so far, I'm still charging it before applying. The only officially announced change would be "Hello OnePlus".

I get the error message in TWRP 2.8.0.1 "This package is for device A0001; this device is bacon". Any solution to this?

It's an updated OTA with full system inside. Also upgrades phones from CM11S, as first OTA was missing the voice wakeup and was cancelled.

How to update from the previous CM 12S to this? Need to flash the whole thing?

In lollipop every ota have to be the whole ROM because the OTA is system block based now:

Tried to update through Recovery, but getting error 7 as unexpected contents in boot. i have unlocked my bootloader.

I rooted my phone. When manually looking for updates it says that OS was modified without permission... Will I be able to upgrade to Nougat? Do I need any workaround? Thank you.

just flash update via odin. you can flash any current firmware to get OTA updates

Hey guys , i just wanna ask....is it possible to get the ota updates after rooting the rom ? I love customization but i do need latest updates too...

Full firmware which you can flash via twrp will be released soon after asus releases update. It will be uploaded by avinash in other thread.

Thanks.....So you are saying that when updates will release then i have to flash full updated rom over previous one ...and i will not able to get only updates via system update ...correct ??? Please share the link of thread in which i can get more info.

Bro, you can Unlock unofficially bootloader & flash TWRP with this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...w-to/discussion-unlocking-bootloader-t3786698
And you can update stock ROM while keeping Magisk & TWRP with this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...to/rom-update-stock-firmware-keeping-t3808269
Both threads are tested and working on most of the device include mine.

Thanks buddy.....thanks for the suggestion......Although i am curious to know that if any thread has been posted about go back to official stock rom just like factory os so that i can claim my warranty at the time of servicing during any problem ?
