I've got a SM-G935F with latest Vodafone Italy (OMN) firmware and no root.
I just did a factory reset and flash 2 days ago, but since then I've noticed that the Wi-Fi keeps turning on all the time.
No matter what I've checked, no matter what settings I've turned off it just keeps doing it.
Is it really a firmware flashing issue or can I try something else before having to reset the device again?
Have you checked the Places Edge panel? It changes settings based on location and I think it is on by default.

Hmm I can't find something like that, but maybe it's just a matter of (Italian) translation.
Just to be double sure I've completely disabled the edge features to see what happens.
Thanks in the meantime.

Its called "My Places" on the English version, not sure about the Italian translation
It's still doing it.

I just remembered smart network switch. It turns off wifi temporarily if the signal is weak or unstable. It is in the "more" menu in the wifi settings. Maybe that is why it's turning off.

Sorry, just read your post again and that's the opposite of your problem. The only other thing I can think of is that on my AT&T version, there is a setting to automatically connect to AT&T Hotspots. Maybe Vodafone has a similar setting.

Thanks for your help, but I don't have that option.
However I think at this point that it's really a flashing issue.
I will keep the device that way until I receive the Note 7 in a week or less.

it happened to my Note 4 a few months before it died. Wifi on the top status bar will flash on & off. Going into settings and turning it OFF will turn it off. but after a few seconds, it will trigger it back to ON, and repeat, OFF, ON, OFF all by itself. Never happened before to me ever. My Note 4's now dead, so i got the s7 Edge now and loving it.
It came out it was the app called 'Block This!'.
However after reporting it to the author it looks like the issue got fixed! ??

I have the chance to compare my 10.1v with an Ipad 1 so here is the first picture (both devices with medium brightness).
It'll be a work in progress. Tomorrow I'll have more time and I'll post a full review, with images and videos.
I'll post videos here.
Looking forward to seeing the review. I'm more interested in the 10.1 but the screen quality definitely interests me here.
i guess samsung tab should vs ipad 2
I don't have an Ipad 2, just the first one.
I returned my 10.1v, it became a brick.

What happened ?
As a stated on another thread, I played around for half an hour. Due to a lot of forced closes on browser, decided to turn off the device. It froze on "Do you want to shut down?".
Pressed a couple of times the power button and the first screen "Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1v" appeared, but it never passed from there.
Tryed power + vol down and entered unlock mode with no problems. Pressed the power button to get out and restart, but same issue ocurred. The only way to turn it off is power + volume up and down for 10 secs.
I think even charging was affected, because when I plugged it, the symbol of a battery appeared, but nothing happened afterward.

early adopters penalty!
Are you getting it replaced? I'm sure it was just a dodgy unit. I've not heard of anyone else with that issue - the only issue that I know of is the light-bleed issue for which Vodafone AU have been replacing them.
I know of 2 Tabs here in Portugal whose screen, after 4 days of normal use, started malfunctioning. An error like mine, I never heard of it, not even in another tabs' fora.
I got a refund. Imagine if it happened again... The store might say I've been messing with something or trying to install custom Rom (there isn't any, I know eheh). My unit had bleeding too, I think they all have.
Took delivery of my S4 I9505 in May very happy no issues & had not yet decided whether to root or not .......... I was prompted for an Android update approx 2 weeks ago which i completed with no issues then Yesterday My wifi nor my bluetoooth will activate ...... on the pull down the icons go green but appear 'greyed out' & starting from the settings connection menu has no effect either
After telephoning EE UK tech support was advised remove battery then restart .... no change ....... factory reset ..... no change take too nearest shop for a 2/3 week repair service with a dalek for a lend phone .....
Since then I have tried a hard reset several times ,,,,, I have also flashed the 2 stock roms available through here via Odin with still no change ..... I do not wish to try any rooted roms (I got done with a£120 bill for my s2 from samsung last year ) any other suggestions before I have to succumb to EEs yet to be proven repair service ........
I've got the exact same issue. I've had mine since launch day and no problems at all until two days ago this randomly started happening...

Notice how the buttons are dark green rather than bright green to indicate "on" or grey to indicate "off".
When you go into Wi-Fi settings this is all you ever see...
I read somewhere that this is due to early models having an issue with the wifi/bluetooth chip or the board itself. Unless someone has an idea what is really causing this, I'm going to have to send this back tomorrow which will be a pain in the backside.
Thanks in advance
[UPDATE] Both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth appear to have come back on after ten minutes of constant restarting of the handset. Left the handset on for at least 6 hours, restarted again and then I was back to square one again as they were struggling to switch on. Got it up and running again for the time being though.

Hello, I had all the galaxies since the s1. No major problems at all.
When I bought my s4, I installed a custom rom and the wifi couldn't be turned on, eventually replacing the kernel fixed the problem.
Now I have another problem. Out of nowhere , my screen is displaying random lines. When I boot it up I can see the screen like tripled. The same test shows in 3 different locations.
After the booting screen, display gets black and it is only displaying some lines when I try to lock the screen.
Since I flashed a custom rom, my warranty is voided.

Hi ,
Mate we need more info , the image you sent looks very bad , how it does look after booting up, can you see anything , what about in recovery and download??
Regarding your warranty it depends in what you have and what you did........from download mode you could see if your warranty is set or not
looks like the display is gone....needs to be replaced
The issue almost looks like a monitor issue on a PC when the cable is not properly plugged in. It's either a display or cable issue inside the phone. As mentioned above, do the lines also display in recovery/download mode?
I live in Pakistan and have an S5 G900F, I've been using 4G LTE on it for a few months now.
For the past 2 weeks I've been in the UAE, I switched out my local Pakistani SIM card, and put in a local UAE SIM card and was using 4G over there as well. It worked perfectly fine.
Last night, I got back to Pakistan and put my local Pakistani SIM back in and instantly the 4G data started working, however I was unable to Make/Receive Calls or Texts.
My phone is on LTE/WCDMA/GSM (Auto) mode so when I send a text, or call someone it automatically switches to EDGE (2G), because we don't have VoLTE in Pakistan.
However, when I send a text or try to call someone now, I can't. It stays on 4G, the signal bars disappear and it shows a Cross Icon next to the 4G one. Only data works but I can't call or text.
I was running CM12 all this time and the problem was with that.
I flashed Stock 4.4.2 this morning and it started working normally for about 10 minutes, until the same problem started again.
How do I fix it?
cache wipes and countless factory resets aren't helping. What do I do?
Here's a few screenshots for you guys:

I looked it up, other people on XDA also had this problem but no solution. However if there is one now, please let me know.
Thanks.

Ohhhh

Or see a another sim card and see ur getting the same problem
But if u have an app like this to your specific carrier
I had the same problem when i updated my device into lolipop
But when i select this app it worked properly
That app comes automatically when i insert my carrier sim
Dont knw about you guys
I returned the phone, however I lost some money on it.
I've gone back to the phone I loved, picked up a black Xperia Z2 D6503.
Farewell Galaxy S5, you were a good phone.
Hi everyone.
I am having a big problem with my phone, and since I messed up my warranty by rooting my phone, I am gonna try to find help here, and I really hope someone knows how to fix this issue.
So I got my S7 Edge this summer straight out of the box and it was working perfect. A couple of months after that it started freezing and restarting once every week or so, but I didnt think much of it. Slowly it was doing that more and more, until the point where the screen would freeze and the phone would restart 5 times a day. Shortly after it got stuck in a bootloop. I went to the store I bought it from but since a had a small scratch on the screen they wouldnt repair it without me paying for the screen change. Since it was a lot of money I tried to repair my phone at home by rooting my phone and installing a stock firmware. That didnt work so I installed a custom rom, that worked for a day but then it got back in the bootloop. Now I cant even be in TWRP without it freezing and restarting. My question to you guys is, has anyone had this issue (I hope not because its the worst) and is there any chance I could fix this myself?
I found this picture on google that resembles how my phone looks when it freezes/crashes. It gets these small pixel on the screen, not on the whole screen like in this picture, just on parts of the screen and on different parts everytime.

I have exactly the same problem. I think is somehow power related. Happens more frequently when phone is plugged in or when there's an increase in power consumption...
Is there a fix for it? I am having the same problem.
I found out that is the EMMC and the only fix is motherboard replacement... SAD

I guess you are right since the crashes were more frequent when I had a memory card in the slot. I thought that maybe my memory card was incompatible. But the eMMC seems to be the problem
