revert back to android 6.0.1 on android N - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I think I've found a way to revert back to android 6.0.1, i was on android N OTA so i flash twrp and flash WETA rom, but the battery seem bad for me so i want to revert back to android N by flashing stock img using ADB, and then i got bootloop, so i reboot back into stock recovery and wipe user data and cache and reboot, and then when the phone boot up it booted android 6.0.1

Did you flash the MM vendor when you were reverting?

Can't Boot to Stock Recovery

I'm on OOS 3.0 and wanting to flash 3.0.1 through stock recovery. I currently have the modified version of TWRP flashed. I'm trying to get stock recovery back but it won't boot into it. It displays the OnePlus logo and hangs there while TWRP runs fine. Can somebody help?
P.S. It's rooted and I haven't tried reflashing the system partition.

If u r rooted then without wiping system partition u can't updated oxygen os 3.0.1 or 3.0.2 with stock recovery too .
So if u want to switch oxygen os 3.0.x go thru twrp and first take backup of ur data partition wipe everything except internal memory and flash new oxygen os then restore ur backedup data .

U should also follow the same.
Yes I solved it. It turned out I was using an older modified recovery for OP2.

If you are on OOS + TWRP and want to get back stock recovery:
1. Go into TWRP recovery
2. Go into mount and opt READ ONLY mount
3. Reboot system
OOS will overwrite the recovery with stock recovery during boot

Flashing latest vendor img causes bootloop

I was between roms, was testing out MIUI 8 before going back to Pure Nexus. After wiping I flashed pure nexus vendor img (nbd90x) and then the rom and gapps. I try to boot afterward and I just keep bootlooping from the google logo. I went back and used a 6.0 vendor img (mtc20l) and I'm able to boot into the rom but receive the message to flash the correct vendor img. But I can't since the phone won't boot with the vendor img I'm supposed to be using! I also tried using the stock image for 6.0 and 7.0 from google and neither of them are booting now. Is there something I should do differently or any other steps I can take?
Odd

Factory reset and wipe system in TWRP then try again. Then download the PN 7.0 zip if you still bootloop. I'm guessing you are referring to PN 7.0. If not, fastboot flash the vendor that matches the PN 6.0.1 base.

boot loop

was on version 6.x.x. of Pure Nexus on my Nexus 6P
Downloaded the latest version from here for 7.0.0 r14

I made a full system recovery using TWRP prior to install. Used TWRP to install the .zip of the update. install was successful according to TWRP. I clicked to install SuperSU and then rebooted. Now I'm stuck in a bootloop. I tried restoring my full backup from TWRP I made prior to installing the .zip but still stuck in a bootloop. So tried again with my original backup image and also no luck. I currently don't have a USB cable for my phone as I lost it. Any ideas on how to get out of bootloop? I've left it in the boot cycle (colored google splash screen) eachtime for at least 30mins. I can still get into TWRP and bootloader. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Edit:
I ensured I wiped prior to each restoration. I also ensured that on my backup prior to trying to update that I selected all options in TWRP.
What version of TWRP are u using ?
And you wiped system/data/cache b4 flashing PN 7.0 ?
Then flashed PN 7.0 ROM/Gapps/Vendor ?

TWRP version: 2.8.7.2
I wiped system/data and cache
I didn't flash vendor or Gapps. I currently have 0 ways to put them on phone. I'm gonna try to get a cable tomorrow and attempt to put them on but I don't know how I will without being able to get into the android OS. Now I'm trying to figure out what Vendor img I need.
A little more digging and I scrounged up my long lost cable.
Used fastboot to push new vendor.img and gapps.
Booted up like a champ. Thanks man

If you are using Nougat ROMs, you need to upgrade TWRP to 3.0.2-3.

Extract all the angler images from the OTA and fastboot flash them via your PC by connecting your phone to it and entering bootloader mode. Flash one at a time. These include system, recovery, vendor, boot etc

Back to stock Nougat?

I have a Moto X Style XT1572 Indian version. I updated it to stock Nougat 7.0 via OTA when it was rolled out in India. Later in January I unlocked the bootloader and installed unofficial TWRP recovery for flashing custom ROMs. I did take a full backup of stock ROM immediately when I installed the recovery. Since then I'm using custom ROMs built for Nougat modem.
At present, how can I go back to stock Nougat? I did do a full wipe (except internal memory) and tried to restore the stock Nougat backup which I took in January. The backup always gets successfully restored. However, when the phone boots up completely and reaches the language selection screen(the first screen when the phone boots up), the phone reboots and goes into a bootloop just displaying the bootloader unlocked screen. The only option I have then is to flash any custom ROM again and they do work perfectly. So what must be restricting the stock backup to boot? Also, is there any other way to go back to stock Nougat?
anyone, please?

This thread looks like it has the nougat full firmware package for your phone. Try fastboot flashing all of it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/general/xt1572firmwareclarkretasiaindiads7-t3735257
If that doesn't work out, here's another trick I've seen work on occasion. Restore your TWRP backup, but do not reboot into it. After restoring the backup, use TWRP to flash stock recovery, then reboot to recovery and do a factory reset with the stock recovery. Then reboot into the stock rom. That can clear up some internal storage problems that hang things up. There are other ways to do it, but this is easiest.

I'll give a try to the fastboot version.
