Clock on Lockscreen - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Im on stock rooted/twrped Android 7.0 Nougat. I'd like to remove only the clock and date on my lockscreen. I don't want to use another lockscreen application because I like the stock lockscreen (except for the clock of course).
Does anyone have any idea how that might be done? I'm comfortable navigating file system and deleting stuff or writing commands etc.
:fingerscrossed:

:Bump:

Good talk.

Remove EMUI lockscreen in favour of AOSP lockscreen

Anyone know how to hide the stock emui 4.1 lockscreen in favour of the aosp one built into android.
I have tried:
1. Deleting Keyguard.apk in /system/priv-app -- Removes lockscreen completly leaving nothing. (Probably all that can be done...)
2. Looking for lockscreen related lines in build.prop -- found "ro.config.hwft_PinPukUnlockscr=true" made it false to no avail.
3. Removing HwThemeManager.apk in /system/app -- Removes "Themes" app and lockscreen theme options in settings.
If anyone can help please say.
Thanks.
Hi,
You can't because it's tied to the rest of EMUI interface, if you want to get pure Android look you can flash CM13.

ZE552KL WW_14.2020.1703 update disable theme, need earlier SystemUI

Seems like theming is no longer possible on WW_14.2020.1703. All themes can't be downloaded, instead, it sends 'waiting' message that seems to last forever. Anyone experiencing this? If by any chance. SystemUI apk from earlier version of android N could be shared, preferably from 1701, it would be much appreciated. I'd like to go back to a theme that brings me closest to stock android quick setting appearance.

If you have rooted, just disable themes app, change the apk in system with an older version released at the end of last year, enable and wipe data. If app crashes, wipe theme app data, disable, reboot and enable.

Get the version released in November/December in apkmirror.com
I also tried to install compatible themes (according to developers description from Playstore) with Asus launcher but no luck. I don't have root. Is there another method without root access ?
I like Asus launcher but i hate his icons/notifications

Icon packs does a better job for that. You don't need themes. I prefer icon pqcks from Sourabh Gupta. He updates icons frequently and all his icon packs has 5700+ icons. His latest Android O Icon Pack is pretty awesome. It is paid though.

I'm afraid that's not possible without root unless Asus re-enable the option in future update. I think the transparency of quick setting might cause issue(s) with currently available themes. And you're right, quick setting with the rounded toggles and notifs, especially in lock screen, are painfully ugly.
Hi guys, there's a fresh post https://www.xda-developers.com/downgrade-an-app-android-no-root/ , anyone has successfully downgraded to earlier version of zenui with third party theme support?

Hi the best way to remove a System App is by using root. (http://kingroot.br.uptodown.com/android)
After you rooted it, is just going to play store and intall this app to remove de apps (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp)
Anyway you can also follow this tutorial and remove them without rooting
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAe2kxUOhJA)
The best roms now to me are on XDA:
If you want just battery life expanded install one like Helios Or Ressurection
If you want more functions like a lot of customize options use one like Superman or Renovate And you will not lose that look of samsung on main interface
If you want to go further, install an s8 port or s8+ like batman or Sac23's Roms
Personally i use the sac23's rom v5
(https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-n7-rom-port-romcontrol-t3430358)
It give me a lot of s8 fuctions like Bixby and others, have a really good battery life and manegement and the way they convert the graphics and images like lookscreen clock is just amazing
Hope I have helped you
Yes, but......

1. As much as I know about your writing, you want root. So it's no big deal to remove the app system you want (with root). I usually use titanium backup for it.
2. If you still want without root, maybe this can be tried.

Samsung Galaxy S8 (Android 8 Beta 2) | Remove Navbar

Hi there,
I'm new here and i hope I'll do everything right.
Is there a way to completely remove the navigation bar from the s8? I want my S8 completely controled with gestures but i dind't find a way to remove the comming up navigation bar (I'm on immersive mode).
I've tried to edit the build.prop file with adding "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" but this ended up in a black screen where only the power options were visible.
I hope you can help me,
Simon

With root it's probably removable but my guess is is that with no Oreo root for snapdragon yet and Oreo being brand new no one has figured it out yet
You can easily remove it with the draco mod, I use it with substratum and it's great

Weather force close at rom setup. To avoid just uncheck "Agree All" then select disagree to use device location. Once rom boots to home, pull down notification panel and turn on location and agree to high accuracy use. Now click weather widget on home screen and agree to use location. Weather will now work fine.

Bad ass and thanks, Curtis! Been using your Roms since the zte awe n800 - back in the androidforums days.
I have a small update coming which incorperates all of the s8 nougat icons for systemui. But want to hold off posting it until I sort out adding edge support. Also what I hope is a full weather fix. You will notice the launcher lags when changing rows/columns for the app drawer. Just swipe from right edge to center and change will take effect.

Hello,if you dont care about credits and have the files ready, can you send me the UI with nougat icons and symbols in sb so i can port/mod to make it work on our DUX ROM for J320F?
Use what you wish. But I will leave the foot work to you. Its not difficult to extract needed items from the system.

WiFi works fine for me. I'm going to upload version 2 with fixes for gallery crash, calendar crash along with new ui and weather app. I have not modified WiFi related apps at all. Are you sure you were on J327PVPU1AQF4 rom build and not a lower or higher version?
I think I have a good idea why Wifi isnt working. The magisk built boot kernel. Magisk has proven to be more of a problem than a benefit. Update will not include magisk.
Rom updated with dream UX SystemUI,settings framework icons,etc..removed magisk. Causing more problems than its worth. Only bugs left are some lag in how Launcher readings icons after picking grid sizes for apps screen. A quick swipe from right edge to the left takes care of it. And weather bug.
Thanks Curtis! Will try this out this weekend and shall report back - looks good
New rom on the way. HTC Flashback Rom. Check screens below. I will be decompiling the HTC apps to resemble old school sense to match the Samsung theme being used. As of now the rom runs with NO app bugs. All but Samsung contacts, messaging, and main settings/systemui have been replaced. Will post. She's sense in every way except core touchwiz.

Sure.
Only UI difference really is subtle icon changes in systemui and settings apk made by Samsung. Nothing to write home about

When replacing the icons be sure only to include those that match those in your roms systemui and settings2 apk files. If only one qmg, spr, etc is in the apk that does not belong there,it will either give a parsing error, not even show in app, drawer or installed apps,or force close
Do not replace any of the xml files. Luckily for our device these two apks can be extracted like a zip, modify the icons then recipe, rename apk. Others need decompiling and recompiling or you'll get the errors above. Your device files may or may not extract the same as ours do.
