Hi, everybody. A friend of mine is stuck with no wifi, so no mac address registered and no imei.
I need somone to check for if the file containing this info is nv_data.bin or .nv_data or anything like this because I can't any file close to this one. I found a method to restore from nothing but I need I think a file called nv.qcn. And I could manualy editing the file to add my own imei and mac address.
Can someone help me?
Nobody has qcn backup? Pleeeease!
You need to be careful with files like those. Have you tried a factory reset? Using MifFlash doesn't wipe data, if that's what you're worried about. It will probably be a good idea to backup to PC or microSD card, though.
After resetting and still no IMEI, I'll suggest this guide. It helped me restore mine when it accidentally got wiped a while back.

I had to do a hard reset on my phone, I do have a default.dbk file but I can't get the phone to load it up. I put Data Backup back on the phone, then do a restore with that file, it looks like it gets some stuff but not everything. Am I doing something wrong? At one point, it restarted itself and went back to the password screen, it wouldn't accept my password even though it had the correct question that it asks if you forget your password. Please help, I need my contacts bad!! Also is there a way to extract my contacts from that DBK file on a computer or something if I can't get this working?
Galaxy Tab (P1000) with IMEI corrupt i dont have EFS backup as well
whats the best possible way to get original imei back?
Forget to add my EFS folder is completly empty no files in there atall
wbr
ok i have downloaded SUPERUSER from market place which can show me FILES inside EFS FOLDER what now?
anyone?
anyone can please post me fresh working BACKUP of EFS folder for GALAXY TAB
please
sorry, each efs is unique to each tab. basically your stuck with that strange imei but it should work without any problem and also the tab should unlocked now
In india the corrupt IMEI is blacklisted in every network so it cant register
i know each EFS is unique but i have seen no other way yet to fix IMEI back to original one in case you dont have a backup i really wanna do some experiments with some working EFS backup
Maybe it will result into solution please PM me the backup link if you feel uncomfortable in posting here please
If you don't have a backup you're screwed. In addition to each EFS being unique the IMEI is actually encrypted as well. Unfortunately I don't think anyone is going to be sending you their IMEI.
Hi,
seems like I've just noticed this issue, even if my last flashing (no, I didn't use that Odin option to clear efs) has been done 7 months ago.
The (italian) guide I have read when I bought the Spica back in June didn't mention ANYTHING regarding backing up the efs folder.
My IMEI is 00000000000000, but I can succesfully make and receive calls, sms, and use HSDPA data (Postemobile, a virtual operator working on Vodafone network).
My efs folder contains only a nv_data file.
My doubts are:
-If my IMEI is blank, why I haven't any problem at all?
-If I flash with ODIN a stock 2.1 firmware, can I recover the issue?
-I asked a friend a good nv_data file from an eastern Europe Spica, in an extreme case may I overwrite my nv_data file?
-Any hints regarding the policy of the US carriers if the IMEI is blank? It would be a problem if I couldn't connect to the mobile network. Last time ATT and T-Mobile worked well, but that was before the last ROM flashing, so I don't know...
thanks
Your nv_data file did get corrupted or deleted. This could happen if you ticked the option "Debug Only" -> "Phone EFS Clear" option in Odin.
When the file is broken or missing a new file is created at startup which does not contain IMEI data. Look if you have a nv_data.bak file in your efs folder. You can rename it and look if it fixes the fault. If there is no such file then you have a problem. This can't be fixed easily.
You can go to a professional unlock shop nearby and get a emei repair.
Ore you can contact this guy and get a fix for 20$:

PS: The missing imei will not cause problems with the phone. The complete phone will work without a problem.
Hey guys,
I'm glad to discover you!
I have a friend of mine has a Motorola MB525 and her kid made her a Christmas present early this year: factory reset.
The problem is that she didn't create a google account, so the contacts were not synced with google. And no backup to the external SD was made, unfortunately.
I don't use android devices so this is a bit new for me, and I don't want to make any mistakes.
There must be a way to recover it. I mean, a factory reset deletes the data, as a (quick) format does on a hard disk, but there are applications like get data back for NTFS or FAT to recover it (and R-STUDIO - there are a lot).
Now I have the welcome/first set-up screen. I didn't go with the set-up process, so I won't override any data.
How can I get those contacts back? Should I go woth the set-up process, install a file explorer and search the device for the files? Are they still there? Any ideas? PLEASE there were 900+ contacts and she can't get them back.
Don't get me as a noob, I work in IT, so I can do it with just a hint, but as I told you, android is a foreign OS for me, so I don't want to make any wrong step. Those contacts are crucial!
Thank you so much in advance!
Merry Christmas! Or Happy Holidays!
Best Regards,
Andrei
i don´t know any method that can help you, i really don´t know what is the precess that the phone follow to reset, but if is a format your posibilities to recover your data are so little
possibility?
Maybe if I create an entire image of the system? A .img, .imc or .vim so I can bring it to a data recovery software such as getdataback?
Any idea how to create this image file of the system?
Thanks in advance!

L.E.: Guys!
I found some apps that REALLY get data back if it is recently deleted and not over written. Now I just need to mount the system partition so I can access it from windows or to clone it to PC or SD card and access the Card.
How can I do that please? I need to CLONE it not to copy the files, because the copy and paste will only copy the visible files. The clone or mount will give access to the deleted files also.
L.E.2: Can this help? h ttp:/ / w ww.softpanorama. o rg/Tools/DD/recovery_of_lost_files_using_dd.sh t ml

Hi all,
I've been using this forum for years and years, always finding solutions to my rooting, rom or whatever problems but I'm getting to the bottom of it with this new one.
Here is the situation :
- I tried to install a ROM, it crashed, got my EFS partition delete.
- I didn't have any backup (I know, I know, I screwed up)
- I asked a friend with the same phone to send me a TWRP backup of his phone
- Now, I have a working S8, but with no IMEI
I still have my IMEI number from my phone that I would like to inject into the EFS partition. Is there a way to do that ? I don't want to change IMEI, I only want to reinstall mine. I'm trying to find IMEI tools to do that, but in a legal way (I know it's illegal to talk about IMEI change here). Or maybe an idea would be to generate efs.img files ?
If anyone has a good idea, I'll take it !
Thanks

You can't. Imei is cert protected. It has to be wrote to the device with a new cert file. Paid service my friend only way. Try flashing your stock firmware with proper baseband and such. Btw imei isn't in the efs like it used to be. That's about all of the help you will find here on it
Hi !
That's what I was afraid of, bu thank you for your answer !

Is there a link to the solution?
Ok so the @BIOKNOX account has been removed. Thanks for nothing, industry!
Can we have a solution to the technical problem, please? (No need to state that looking for official service was a hopeless adventure.)
How can the Problem
"IMEI zeroed out on screen. Original IMEI available on package"
be solved, please?
Official answers welcome. PM welcome.
