Please can I ask a big favor of you?
If you could restore your phone (it will rollback to before the firmware update, but still have 8773) and download Wireshack and monitor you internet connection in promiscuous mode. Enter filter: "http.request" (without the double quotes). Start to update your phone. You'll see all the webrequests it makes. You'll also see the cab file for the firmware update. It will look something like this: http://download.windowsupdate.com/m...1/02/oem_update**********.pks.***********.cab
That's the address we all need to know in order to download the firmware update on our phones (like mine) which aren't receiving a notification on Zune.
EDIT: If you're not willing to do the above then please just tell us about your phone (what country, whether it is branded with a mobile phone company or unbranded, etc).

No updates today here! Does anyone have the option to send voice memos through MMS after Tango update? I can't even export contacts to SIM.

Thanks very much for posting that.
So its the fabled April 2012 update, in this instance its the unbranded Nordic (localized) retail release. It should work on all unbranded handsets. I would expect that it will be coming to all retail phones fairly shortly?

So I guess we should recieve it via Zune after all... sooner or later!

Restore in Zune. Note of caution for anyone else looking to use this update..

Did you press B (backup then send) or S when you used the cab sender tool?

"No restore point found" I really don't know why I haven't done a backup point before trying anything, I thought everything would work fine...
Now, when I try to update the phone through Zune it says my phone is up to date instead of the previous error. Do you think I could try to force the update with the airplane mode + "cutting network connection" trick ?
Btw, how can I restore my phone with Zune ? Settings->Update->Restore ?

I used this cab after updating to 8773.
Now FW is 242412.4.1
Bootloader: 6.4.0.9
Radio is unchanged.

I am not really experienced with this, I just thought it'd help. I will try as soon as I can. Yes, I have interop unlocked it. The reg tweaks are made in Windows/System32/config/Software.

What exactly is this? I have a Huawei W1 (Tracfone) and have not found away to get even GDR2 yet, at least without losing my 3G connection and to make matters worse straight talk says it has no plans to update the device. Will this allow me to flash GDR3?

nope, it will not. this is not a flashable file. I will look for a tutorial on how to flash GDR3 on a Huawei Ascend W1 and post the link here.

Will I still be able to keep my 3G connection (Tracfone)? Last time I flashed a china and Russian gdr2 and both only would allow a 2G connection as the result I ended up going back to the stock tracfone rom.

I really don't know. Maybe you can set the APN of your carrier manually. Try the GDR2 ROM at windowsmania.pl, this may work for you.

Tried that a few months back the flash was successful and could change apn however when selecting network it only allows me to select 2G. When flashing back to the stock Tracfone ROM I'm able to select 3G or 2G. I'm thinking the only solution is a custom American based Rom.

Hello, i have a Huawei W1 simlocked to Portugal TMN and i buy codes from mobileunlocked and sim-unlock, both codes that they supplied are the same and don´t work on my phone.
I really need to unlock my phone anybody knows how to help me with alternate method?
I also changed the firmware with QPST but the firmware doesn´t unlock the phone.

You could switch to mass storage and delete Huawei folder content. After it you loosing IMEI but you have to make a copy all files before it. Phone should be unlocked

Hi djtonka thank you it worked like a charm, i deleted the folder Huawei and updated the firmware and then the phone is unlocked.
Now how can i put back my IMEI without simlocking my phone?

I left BOARD_CODE.PROVISION, DIAGLOCK_PWD.PROVISION modified DESCRYPT_ID.PROVISION and deleted AFTER20000_BAK1.PROVISION and NVBAK.PROVISION and now i'ts SIM Unlocked.
If it's not too much to ask what are those files (AFTER20000_BAK1.PROVISION and NVBAK.PROVISION) for?
Because if I put back NVBAK.PROVISION to get the device serialnumber back it will lock the device again.

Did MS stop pushing the 8.1 update to the W1? I am part of the developer program and have installed 8.1 on my phone many times before. Now when I have the Preview for Developer installed and check for updates it does not find anything. I am stuck at 8.0.10521.155. If this is the case and MS stopped pushing the update can we manually push it to the phone?

Just a quick guide on how to change GSM M8s to other variants
This guide will show you how to change your GSM M8 into any other GSM variant (apart from GPE - theres a thread for that!!) Just pick the files and info within the links below relevant to what you want to convert to
READ THIS BEFORE YOU BEGIN!!!! This will work for GSM phones only YOU WILL BRICK IF YOU ATTEMPT THIS ON A CDMA PHONE!!!!!

STEPS TO FOLLOW BELOW
- Step 1 - changinging MID
- Step 2 - changing CID
- Step 3 - restoring relevant nand backup
- Step 4 - firmware flashing
- Step 5 - OTA downloading/updating
- Step 6 - hopefully all is good but read text below step 6 if not
Here Goes.......
1 Change the MID number of your device by going to THIS THREAD and follow instructions for setting the MID to the variant you wish to convert to (below is command for setting to Dev edition please read the link above and it will give you the relevant commands for your desired variant - Thanks @scotty1223
You should already have adb etc sorted but see the thread above if not
enter the following:
adb shell
su (if needed to get a # prompt)

verify 0P6B12000 for modelid

2 then change CID to desired edition by typing "fastboot oem writecid BS_US001" in fastboot
(or BS_US002) - NOTE - these are dev edition CIDs , replace with relevant CID to your desired variant
(ignore if not converting to dev - obvious i know lol)
Here are the differences between the two dev edition CIDs
3 then restore relevant nand in custom recovery, you can get it HERE thanks @Mr Hofs - look for nand for BS_US001 or BS_US002 CID - Note - Look for nand matching the CID you entered earlier above - these are dev for example
4 Flash the stock recovery or firmware zip (which includes the recovery) matching your desired software number NOTE - yet again the download links below are for DEV edition for example - the versions relevant to the variant you want are accessible through the search function. The firmware is HERE this shouldn't wipe sd contents but backup to be sure thanks @ckpv5
Follow THIS GREAT GUIDE for flashing via fastboot thanks @Sneakyghost
Or This quality tutorial to flash firmware from external sd card thanks @skulldreamz
if you are s off, sd contents should be untouched after flashing firmware but back them up just in case
To flash just the recovery, get the recovery.img from the zip above and put it in your fastboot folder on your PC. Then in CMD type "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" then "fastboot erase cache"
5 then you should be able to receive the OTA - flash as per HTC instructions, if you have any issues i.e corrupt file, flash ota manually- 1, reboot to recovery, then 2, press power and volume up and then flash in the menu that pops up
6 Profit
You will have the red text on the splash screen as the ota will flash a unmodified HBOOT - CLICK HERE for a modified one that will remove the red text. thanks @santod040 . Just remember to reflash stock hboot in the event of returning to s on before you type the s on command otherwise you will brick your device
IF, FOR ANY REASON U ARE NOT GETTING OTA, CLICK HERE AND APPLY IT MANUALLY

I have no idea if it will work for sure, but it certainly sounds good.
When you say you have the WWE version, you mean simply an unbranded non-US version of the device?
The dev edition seems to basically be just the [SIM] Unlocked version shipped with an unlocked bootloader as well.
If I'm wrong, maybe someone can correct that statement.
I don't know anything about the WWE devices but if they're SIM unlocked as well then it seems worth trying as long as you are S-OFF and have backups of current firmware.

Yes you can do it, but why not just wait? Chances are the WWE build will be a later build than this one so I'd (personally) just wait the week or so for the OTA and manually flash it

There are links out in the wild for this specific ROM version for Belgium and Holland, but as far as I can tell they are spam/scam links after spending quite some time weeding through them.
Anyone with a legit source for this specific firmware? Alternately, can anyone tell me how to ADB sideload an older version without the error stopping me about not being able to install over a newer image?

Oh! Thanks for that - I swear I had looked for hours and hours. ...but it appears I can't use an update firmware anyway, I guess I need a recovery rom? I cannot boot the phone at all, I can only get to the system screen with the opportunity to ADB sideload. Any other ideas?

However, try to decompress the firmware to a folder, rename the "update.app" to "update.zip".
with the command "adb sideload update.zip", may be to do the complete installation of the ROM.
Warning: If the phone was, for example, Y625-U51-V100R001C577B108, does not accept the installation of the Y625-U51-V100R001C577B103 version. The opposite (update) all right!

I'm having a y625-u51 with the title firmware. I need to do a reset and the most recent update.App I can find is with the 108 at the end.
When I'm trying to apply this, says that cannot install over newer build. Is there a chance to find that firmware update.App from someone or any trick to avoid version check.Note that the phone doesnt boot and was rooted. I can only boot at Android system recovery. Oh and I'm from Greece.

This link is for v100r001c577105, I have the version v100r001c577111 which is Feb 17. So doesnt match.
I have the file you provide but I cannot do the restore because the version on then phone, as you see, it is newer.

Hi everyone!
This is (i think...) fully functional MIUI v8 for ZTE Blade A452. According to my research, it's first working custom ROM for A452. And to be clear, I didn't port this ROM at all, I just patched Blade X3 ROM to work with A452. The biggest issue was camera. Front camera was up-down flipped and the rear was dead. I managed to fix it by replacing some libraries.
Instalation:
Flash TWRP Recovery onto your device (link to TWRP below)
Wipe device
Install the ROM by installing .zip package
Wipe the device again
Reboot and enjoy !
The device may hang in welcome creator, but just keep resetting it until you finish the creator (I'm working to fix it)
Despite first-use troubles, whole ROM work flawlessly, in my opinion a lot better than stock one.
If you found any bugs, please write a comment with description and I'll try to fix it ASAP.

Yes i already tried it didn't work, still apears unknown baseband and imei number, btw this phone is the same a452 but it is made here in portugal by a portuguese company called "Nos" here they changed the name of the phone to "Nos Five Dual Sim".

Yes i already tried it didn't work, still apears unknown baseband and imei number, btw this phone is the same a452 but it is made here in portugal by a portuguese company called "Nos" here they changed the name of the phone to "Nos Five Dual Sim".

Hmm, maybe that's the problem. I'll try to fix it as soon as possible, do you have full backup of your ROM? If yes, try to full restore ROM and check for baseband version

First thank you very much SP2FET,
I am using the rom you patched, its working great, thank you for that.
I also lost the Imei for both SIM . I have already tried to restore the NVRAM and AT command using MTK engineering but it fails showing a warning sign after sending the AT comman. The above link you wrote asks to put the stock rom again and to delete the partition. I am trying to restore the IMEI without having to put back the stock rom.
according to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2269740, it was the soft imei that was lost, and probably the hard imei stands.
In the mean while if anyone has a solution please share it.

Solution to the lost IMEI
I was able to solve the lost by creating a IMEI.bak with Mobileuncle MTK IMEI Write Tool and restoring IMEI using MobileUncle Tools .

Hello i instal the rom but the phone dont reconize my sims card . do you have a fix for this ? thanks

I can't change the wake up display...every 5 seconds its close the display..and also it's quite hard to scroll down the notification bar....otherwise the ROM is great and smooth

When I was downloading apps from playstore, it's cancelled by itself after the screen goes off and i have to redownload the apps again........how to fix this?

hello Andre,
this is the problem described as loss of IMEI by installing a new rom. There are many ways to fix this, I posted one solution above. Your best bet is to flash IMEI using a flashtool, can be tricky because you need to install proper drivers.

Yes is the portuguese version nos five

Yes I did...and I cant find the setting to the wake up display time...also all of the apps didnt show the notifications unless I open the apps itself...it was so slow when it loading the notification...example, I opened my whatsapp then suddenly a message that should appears an hour before just popped up when i open the apps....and i did everything u told me....
