My 5GHZ wifi doesn't show up in the wifi network list.
If I go to Setting > Data Usage > More > Restrict Networks I can see my 5Ghz wifi. So How can I connect to 5Ghz ?
Changed Wifi channel from 36(5.180) to auto. Router selected 149 (5.745 GHz) and wola it works.

hi
right now it automatically connects to my router at home when in comm manager i choose wifi, is there a way i can do it manually ? or how can i basically choose which network to connect to ?
With wifi turned on...
Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Network Cards -> Wireless tab then tap and hold on the access point or ad hoc connection you want to connect to instead (assuming it's available).
If you don't have wifi turned then you won't see the Wireless tab after you go into Network Cards so don't freak out
Ideally i want my phone to connect to wifi when avaliable instead of maintaining the mobile internet connection. I installed Duttys v3 a few days ago and it seems to be using mobile internet all the time, even when wifi is avaliable.
On the connections options menu > connections > advanced > select networks, both drop downs are set to 'orange internet'.
If i change them both to work network, wifi connects fine at home, but problems arise when out and about.
Anyone know where i am going wrong with the settings?
Ok, if you need to connect to a WiFi network with no DHCP service where you are allowed to choose an IP (like your own home network where you want a specific IP), you have to go:
Settings > Connections > WiFi > Wireless Networks > Network Adapters > IEEE 802.11b/g Compatible Wi-Fi Adapter and there change to Use specific IP address and the like.
But the changes you make there, are valid for all your WiFi connections (since they are network adapter related). If you later need to connect to a public WiFi where you can only get an IP through DHCP, you have to go back and change the setting all over again.
Is there any way/software that can keep these settings per network? Eg. if the network's name is Freenet then use DHCP, if the network's name is Home then use specific IP, DNS, etc.
Today In My Wifi Not Showing If Wifi My Wifi Router / Modem In 2.5Ghz .... If I Put 5Ghz Settings It Works ..
I Need To Change Any Settings For Wifi or How to Change Wi-Fi Frequency Band ...
Do you guys know how to solve this problem. Can't even see my 2.4Ghz wireless network. Can only see 5Ghz wireless network. Any suggestion ?
Reboot your router
Change the 2.4GHz Wireless channel on the router
Clear caches from recovery on the phone - can other devices see the 2.4GHz network? -
Disable the 5GHz network and see if it can connect to 2.4GHz then...
Can your router push out both 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously?
Disable Smart Network Switch on the phone in WiFi Settings
thanks for your reply.
Yeah, Other devices can see 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Yes. I'm using RT-N66U so both 2.4 and 5GHz are available.
If my router was problem other devices cannot connect so, is not my router.
Following are done.
-Rebooted s 5 many times.
-Did hard reset/wipe cache
-smart network is disabled. ( Don't even put SIM card yet)
Phone is not ROOTED.
Suggestions?
Factory reset the phone?
Yes Factory reset and Hard reset is done but nothing change
Go to someone elses house who has 2.4GHz WiFi and see if your S5 can connect, then you'll know if it is a fault with the phone, or your router
My router have only 2.4 GHz but not problem with other devices.
My neighbor have both 2.4 and 5 GHz when we try to connect it's only show 5GHz band. Not 2.4. btw i'm running Lollipop 5.0
