Hey everybody,
I'm somewhat of a newb. I did successfully root and flash Paranoid Android on my old Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, but the LG G3 is giving me fits. I did have trouble rooting it, but finally found a method that worked. I've tried flashing CM, PA, RR, and more. All of them bootloop. I flash stock Lollipop and it boots right up. Did I miss something? Is there an easy answer? Do I unroot, go full stock, then try again? Thanks for any advice/suggestions!
First, you are in the wrong section. Should ask in the Q&A section.
Can you give more details? Did you downloaded the right rom? Do you say it bootloops but it just a long boot?
Sorry about that, but thanks for replying. I'm sure I have the right roms as I've tried several. I think I would have gotten at least one right. By bootloop, I mean the LG logo comes up, screen goes black, LG logo, black screen, LG logo, etc etc. I'm able to boot to recovery, and clear data, cache, dalvik, and/or factory reset, but that doesn't fix anything. At this point, I'm trying to unroot and flash back to original stock kitkat.

I rooted my G2, installed TWRP 2.6.3.1, then tried installing CleanROM 1.0 but it froze during installation, so I held down the power button to reboot and now it won't boot past the LG logo. I tried a bunch of button combinations to see if I could get back into TWRP recovery but I couldn't get it to work. All I could do is get into firmware update mode, which I don't know how to use. Can anyone help me out? :crying:

You can go into download mode by pressing Volume UP and connecting USB to the computer. Then you can restore the stock from there. There is a post on restoring stock, follow that

Just an FYI, I prolly did not freeze during install...
As I noted in my OP it takes a LONG time to decompress 1.5Gigs of RAM.
These roms take a long time to flash, a very long time for some. Let it flash in recovery. Do what others are doing if you need to even if it seems excessive, take a shower or something leave your phone for a while just let it work its course.
UPDATE: I gave up and restored a backup. I'm wondering if the issue is because I didn't wipe System
Hello everyone,
I'm also stuck at the LG logo. I wiped data, cache, and dalvick in recovery. I installed the ROM. Neither of these steps took a very long time. When I went to reboot, it stated that I was rooted and asked whether I wanted to install SuperSU. Since the ROM description stated that SuperSU was included in the ROM, I said no. After rebooting, I have been stuck at the LG logo for over 15 minutes.
Is it supposed to take a long time during the actual install, or at the LG logo? Should I wait it out or work on my backup plan?
Thanks for the help. I'm very excited about CleanROM.
Hey guys, so, i accidently took an OTA update on a rooted phone...The problem is, now the phone will only go into CWM, i've tried wiping cache, dalvik cache, factory reset, etc!! Nothing works, also even tried the "CWM Boot Loop" forum steps..Long story short, nothing works guys! When I run ADB, and i send TWRP over, my phone receives it, but then it just says "installation aborted"..SO ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED GUYS!! Not sure if the phone is completely screwed and it's time for a new one? Or it's just an easy fix and i'm doing something wrong. Link Below from the forum i followed...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567493
Step 5 is where I can't get past because the phone says "Installation Aborted"^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
SOLUTION:
Hey guys, fixed the phone...Basically I had to go back to bone stock..The way i did this was by going to this link BELOW
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
& then I basically just downloaded what was told to be downloaded, and then followed the instructions, now what it doesn't mention is you need to flash a stock rom, apparently the software used to flash this stock rom hates all the rooted crap, like "slim rom, beanstock, cyanogen," etc...other than that, worked like a charm! took around 10-15 minutes and there it was...UP AND RUNNING .
Let me know if ya have any questions.
Normally I take for granted that the answer is out there in a forum or some tech blog. I've looked everywhere and unfortunately every guide I followed or Google combination I've tried didn't help.
Just can't get any custom rom to install and boot up, they all hang at the Samsung logo with text in the upper right corner telling me the kernel isn't senforcing.
I have a sgh i337m, it's an mk6 build number if that helps. Currently on stock 4.3 and rooted using saferoot. My carrier is telus and the phone is Sim locked still (is that the issue?)
I have twrp 2.6.1 installed and have flashed multiple roms for the jfltecan which I trust is the right model I need based on goo.manager
I've tried cm11, cm10, gummyrom for 4.4.2, omnirom also for 4.4.2 and they all hang at the splash screen. My method for flash is based on the ultimate guide that is stickied which is to wipe system, data and both the caches. Then flash the zip and the gaaps. I even tried the lokidoki zip in other combinations
Then I tried using cwmod recovery thinking perhaps it is twrp's fault and got the same hanging at the splash screen
I'm now just back to rooted stock 4.3 after restoring my nandroid
Any insights out there that can be deciphered from my rambling would be very much appreciated!!! Frustrated as hell. My nexus 7 was such a breeze and did not expect this to happen on my s4.

I too have been plagued by this same issue,
but only on a blue moon so to speak, I kept rebooting
and eventually my phone booted through that silly splash screen!

First off I am hoping you are flashing from recovery and not trying something through goo manager. Second, it sounds as though you are skipping the wiping step before installing a new rom, you absolutly have to wipe cache/dalvik/ and factory reset all before flashing any rom.... also I wipe the system too to make it a clean install, make sure you put the rom of choice on the external sd and make sure you have a nanroid backup with your installed recovery twrp or cwm.....
PS lokidokie and saftey starp only apply to US versions (I337) not the Canadian I337M use only the roms build of this model.... I haven't had very good luck with cm based roms in the past so I tend not to flash those... I flashed one rom and the phone got super hot ... not sure what the issue was ... nand back to stock starter over with a differnet rom

How long did you wait at the splash screen before booting again and again? After a new installation does the phone take extra time at the splash screen or is it at a different screen?

Please... you need to provide some more info for people to help you..... rom you tried to install and the steps.. not tryin to be mean just hard to help without details....
Ahh I know the problem if your flashing all of them from the att section. It could be that all of those roms you tried have loki built into the kernel and is stopping you from booting. Are u choosing ones that say they are specifically for the Canadian model or the ones for att?
I would also suggest booting once first before flashing gapps. I am using this Carbon rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568699 and it's universal, for US or CA models. I highly recommend it.
Hello there!
I wanted to try KitKat on my rooted stock JB G2, so I downloaded a modified 20D ROM and installed it on my device. However, I've been having problems: phone randomly rebooting, accelerometer not working since yesterday (a reboot or Dalvik wipe wouldn't fix it)... so I decided to start clean.
I went to TWRP and did a full wipe. I checked every box and wiped. My intention was to restart the phone, copying a ROM, going back to recovery and installing the ROM.
However, the phone won't boot. It gets stuck at the LG logo with a blinking LED (green/blue).
I can get to TWRP and to download mode, but haven't been able to go back to the system itself.
I've read about TOTs, kdzs, flashtools... But I don't have a clear idea of what should I do.
Could anybody give me a hint? Maybe saying "Follow this tutorial, but using this file instead", or something like that.
My main concern was that the phone could run out of battery, but I've checked that while in TWRP it's charging.
Thanks in advance.
Did the ROM zip flash completely? You could try installing a 4.4 kernel (like Dorimanx's) and also the kk baseband

Hey everyone. I'm a new G2 user, got my device rooted and ROM'd, using towelroot and Autorec, and running latest Team EOS ROM. However, it seems like I can only flash certain ROMs? I can flash Vanir and EOS, but if I flash any other AOSP ROM (I've tried AOKP, Slim, and PA so far), I just keep getting a bootloop at the LG splash screen. Has anyone gotten this problem before? I've tried searching around the forums for answers, but no such luck as of yet D:
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
*EDIT* More Information:
I CAN get back to recovery and restore my backup of EOS. So I'm not bricked at all. I just can't seem to really flash anything. If I flash a different AOSP kernel, the LG logo will go away, but the screen will dim, and no OS will display. However, if I touch the area where the softkeys are, they will vibrate as if the ROM has booted up. If I hold vol down, the device will vibrate. If I long press the power key, the device will vibrate. It seems as the if the ROM actually did boot, but there's still a black screen. Halp please
Bump for help/answers
Also, if it really means anything, I rooted with towelroot and used AutoRec for recovery.
