Hey guys,
First i want to say i did use the search tool to try and find my answer, but had no luck. Two days ago i updated to Miui 2.3.30 and since then i been having wifi problems and random restarts. If i turn wifi on it doesn't find anything any more and the phone crashes. After that it keeps restarting until i remove the battery.I tried previous miui builds but the same problem happened after using the phone for about 10 minutes. I also tried other roms that were not miui, on those i dont get the resarting problem, but wifi will keep turning off and on. Is there any fix for this? I love miui roms

Have you tried a full wipe? 9 out of 10 times this will fix problems.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
I did a full wipe every time. By full wipe i mean : wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache.... I read in some threads that maybe is the kernel, but i have no idea about. Any help appreciated .
Kernal certainly could be the problem, dig through the development forum for that Rom and see what others are using as their Kernal. Try that and if it doesn't work provide us with more details
Alright, i looked around it and one of the users said he used DARKSIDE v12 kernel. I flashed it, but still have the problem. I also notice that if i turn airplane mode on none of the problems happen. It works perfectly on airplane mode. Also if i flash the rom and never try to turn wifi on it won't crash. If i try to turn wifi on the phone will keep crashing until i turn airplane mode on or reflash the rom. I am using a mytouch 4g with miui 2.3.30.
airplane mode is disabling everything you would have broken, so no problems would appear.
I'm running Darkside-v12-cm7+ from thederekjay. 2.6.34.14 and I'm not having any problems.
I was running some other kernel the other day and a bunch of things weren't working

Try to format system and data and then wipe delvic and them factory reset before flashing the rom. That is a true full wipe. You can't have issues if the rom doesn't format those partitions properly upon rom flash.
I got it to work !! Thank you guys for the help, i appreciate it. What i did was i clicked all the wipe options on recovery mode except battery and flashed an old miui i had. After it started i just left it there for like 3 minutes( didn't click anything) and restart it. This time i tried wifi and it worked. Turn it off and on a couple of times and it worked fine.

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my nexus 4. I wanted to use cyanogenmod instead of the stock rom, so i rooted my device yesterday and flashed the latest stable build of cm (10.1.2).
Everything worked fine, except for the wifi; it won´t turn on. It get´s stuck on the "turning on wifi"-page, wtih the button in off-position and saying "turning on wifi".
I´ve read some threads were people had the same problem, but nothing seems to fix it. I made a factory reset, wiped cache and dalvik, fixed permissions, but in didn´t work on cm 10.1.2.
So i tried a different build, cm 10.1.1 stable, but the problem persisted. I tried the same things I did on the 10.1.2, but it did not help. So I tried using the latest nightly, but that didn´t help either.
I thought i go back to the stock build to fix it, because it still worked after I rooted the device and still had the stock on it, but unfortunately that did not fix it. I made a factory reset, and wiped cache and dalvik again, but it just won´t work.
Long story short, i don´t know what to do now I rooted and flashed several devices before and never had a problem that did persist even nafter i tried multiple buidls of cm and wiping everything everytime; so if anybody has any idea where this problem comes from and how i could fix it that would be really great

Im having a similar problem, i think we have to flash a different radio ?
Still nothing
Flash a different radio? What excactly does that mean? I must admit I have not heard of that
By the way, I just unrooted my device and relocked the bootloader, but that didn´t fix the problem either.
Stock CM Kernel? If so, try flashing kernels with prima drivers. If the problem persists, I guess it may be hardware. On another note, do you have bluetooth or GPS on? Try turning those off and try connecting.

I just tried the franco R163 with prima drivers, that did not fix it. But, speaking of the bluetooth, i´ve just noticed that the same problems occurrs with that. I trie to turn it on an it stays at "turning on bluetooth" without actually turning on. Maybe that helps to know what the problem is.
What other kernel with prima drivers would you recommend?
Edit:
I´ve read through a few threads on that bluetooth-issue, which apparently is more common than my wifi issue. I was wondering if my wifi-issue could have something to do with the bluetooth, because other users who have said bluetooth issue found their bluetooth temporarily on after reboot; then after a while the bluethooth issue appeared again.
In my case the bluetooth doesn´t appear to be on, but i was thinking that maybe it is, but the software fails to display that and that that is interfering with my wifi.
Could that be a possibility?
Out of the box my nexus 4 refused to connect to my TPLINK wr941ND router, wifi was set months ago, nexus 7 works as charm same with evo 3d and others. I thought wtf and turned on wifi on broadband modem, it showed up on nexus 4.... And suddenly network from router poped up as well. I switched off wifi on modem and nexus lost wifi from router. At this moment I went for a walk... When I come back done factory reset, reboot the router, no effect. Changed settings from WPA2/QSS to WPA without QSS - no change, then I changed channel from #13 (best in my location, all my neighbours using #1 and #6) to #1 and instantly nexus found network.... So it seems that sumthing is apparently with wifi, when I changed channel back to #13 it drops the connection and says that networtk is out of range. So finally I checked all the channels from 1st to 13th and it works from #1 to #10, 11 till 13 dunt work. Maybe this info will help sumone with simillar problems.
Hi
I am new to xda.
I have searched the forum and could not find someone with similar problems.
I have flashed a 4.4.2 google play edition rom (tried both jamal and danvdh). It works like a charm, but when on wifi my phone occasionally freezes. The freeze happens after a while and most of the times when I try to unlock phone. Sometimes the phone is just very slow and other times it is just frozen, where I have to hard reboot it. When on wifi for the whole day the freeze often comes two times during a day.
I am new to flashing roms, and don't know if flashing a new modem will make it work. If I revert back to stock rom, will the wifi then also give problems?
The ideal solution would be to keep the play edition rom as I enjoy that the most.
Hope you guys can help me out.
Did you tried to wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache &wipe dalvik cache ?
I have already tried that

Here is the surest way to solve your wifi issue.
Download the official stock Odin flash firmware for your phones baseband and model.
The best and most reliable place to download the firmware is at HTTP://SamMobile.com
Before you odin flash be sure to:
#1: make a nanroid backup of your existing rom.
#2: Do a full wipe including factory reset in recovery.
Good luck!
tbf I would not personnally myself make a nandroid backup of a non working rom.
I'd backup anything I'd need,contacts,messages etc
make sure you use your phones propper rom that it initially came with
I use samsung galaxy s4 GT-I9505 of 7 month. First 5 month is fine working but a few months to not work the wifi (and any time bluetooth?). ı read the internet and try *#0011*# and turn off wifi power save mode but get not working

I could only fix the problem by replacing the motherboard.
