Hello,
Is there a way to disable "Add Call" function during calls? I keep pressing it accidentally and I tried third party dialers but they still have the same Huawei dialer and only the contacts list is different.
I wouldn't want someone to hear me while I gossip about him

Hi,
I've been looking all around for how to tweak the registry so that the left soft key should not display the "missed call" and "voice mail" when i missed a call / got a voice mail.
to clarify - I DO know how to disable the pop up. I just don't want the soft key to change.
Is it the EventType dword? What is there other than 2?
I think that its not the Options dword. There the choices are 1,2,4,8 any any combination (3,9) to set whether it vibrates, rings, pops up, etc.
PLEASE help me get rid of the entire notification!
Thanks,
~n

Also looking for this information.
I have searched high and low trying to find a way to disable the left-softkey "notification" button for "Missed Calls" and "New Email" notification... not just the popup that is controlled by "Sounds & Notifications", but the softkey itself. On a busy phone with lots of incoming calls, voicemails and e-mails this overloaded button is a constant irritant.

Has ANYONE found a fix for this? I really want it gone as well!
When I open the slider or invoke the "phone app", the actual scrren I get is that of the call history. I then have to press "keypad" to go to the dialer?
Is there a way to go straight to the dialer when I open the slider?
hmm...since the hardware keypad is already open, just press a digit to go to the dialer. or did that not solve it?
No, actually pressing any number in the keypad has no results in call history...
It is actually a setting in the phone.
Go to Settings/Personal/Phone/Advanced and make sure that the bottom box is not ticked "Press SEND key to open Call History" untick it.
I hope this is what you mean.
seal, you're a GENIOUS!!
I thought that checkbox only affected the send button but it also affects the slide open.
Thanks!!

Use MS Voice command.... probably already installed on your phone.
Go to your settings tab then all settings... under the personal tab you should see "Voice Command"
Make sure it's enabled and check what you want to use it with.... ie contacts. once thats done go to notifications and select whatever option you want... probably announce notifications through bluetooth hands free if available or the 3rd option just below that.
Once that is checked when someone calls it will announce their names.
That said, back in the personal settings tab go to the button options and select one of the buttons you can configure to be voice command. That way when you press and hold say, your call button, you'll hear a ding and you can then tell it to call so and so in your contacts or play media, or speak next appointment etc.
Can anyone help or is it the phone. When I call someone you can press the home button and go to other applications, like messaging, mediascape, etc. But if press the dialler button, or retreive call in the notification bar, you can only get that call. How do you access the contacts menu? I needed numbers of people twice and I couldn't go into them without dropping the call first.....
WHen you're on a call and you press the home button... the calls still working in the background and from there then you can press the application screen and then select phonebook, and scroll through your contacts there. Hope that helped.
Yeah, don't click on the Dialer to check your contacts in the middle of a call, go to Phonebook instead in the Apps list.
I have a Droid X. If i get a phone call, I can press any hard key to silence the ringtone. The problem is this same functionality is absent from notification ringtones.
I know nothing about coding, or how the OS works, but it should be possible to use the same code that phone calls for notifications.
"if anyhardkeypress then silence notification" .. now that i feel stupid for saying that, is there anybody out there who can read the phone activity logs and figure out what line of code allows the ringtone to be silenced on a button press for phone calls, then maybe make an app to port it over to notifications.
Well, it's not a program solution, but I just use the "Droid Voice" or whatever it's called for e-mail and SMS notifications. Phone just goes "Droooid"; there is hardly time to press a hardkey
I just assign different tones to each type of notification, and my main contacts
