I got info from Dmitry Grinberg
I asked him if he can port Android N to Nexus 7 2013
For now you can get my build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7-2013/orig-development/p-aosp-n-7-0-google-shame-t3448008
Yayyy. I've been checking every few hours thinking surely someone has ported it already lol
Can't wait to try it when it's done !
Well, the folks with Nexus 5 phones are getting closer:

Well as you expect a lot of things broken. Though here's a list of stuff working:
- Boots
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth
Not Working:
- Camera
- Manual brightness control
- Google Play services always crashing with OpenGapps for 7.0
If I have the time, I'll push the update later tonight so you guys can test it out.
Doubt I'll even bother. I'm ready for a tablet with more horsepower anyway.

My build is in a similar state, I have GPS and Camera working, but I'm in a permissive selinux state. The Gapps crashing all the time seems to be to do with gms not having location permissions. I permitted it to use location and it's been fine since.
Unfortunately i'm typing this on the way to the Airport and will be away for a few weeks so I can't really help any more than that. I expect it'll all be fully working by the time I get back

How did you make it to into permissive? Using the cmdline of the kernel makes init to reboot the device in recovery? Did you manually put setenforce to 0 in init.flo.rc?

For now - this problems really deep inside. Video system in android 4 changed mostlly.
Wow, I knew that you wouldn't abandon us.
Edit: Just loaded it up. Really fast. Obviously, a lot of problems but nevertheless, really good start.
No market?
No wifi?
And an error kept popping up, in part english, part Korean, at every new screen, stating it will eliminate something.
So glad to have you back

Okay it booted fast I was able to sign in to Google.
I did some ram tweaks I was able to get 70+.

I will get even more ram after sensors get fixed.

It's awesome & sweet, man!
I was tried with CM9 but no luck and have not much time to play around with it. Now you are back with it, that great!
Thumb up & keep great working.
I will try it soon
Tried, and this is my experiences:
Good things:
- Speed is incredible fast with many apps I installed on last CM7.X
- Wifi, 3G works
- Home button not work (cannot go home by pressing Home button) EDITED: Home button is go with different behavior compared with GingerBread, so press & hold it to see list of recent & running app, this way it work for me
and many things work as expected.
and Bad things:
- Screen rotation is not work well: look it start to work but mostly forced in landscape mode (in launcher, app) some time it go portrait for dialing screen, error message ... I was unchecked auto rotation options but not help.
- Call not work for me, it go end nearly immediate after I press call.
- SMS not work, EDITED: work after reboot, may it has blocked by some overload operations.
- Net monitor through some exceptions due: /proc/net/xt_qtaguid/stats not exist, we need kernel module for this stuff.
- Cam not work (of course )
I don't see where to customize Cyanogen such as fast switch widget on notification bar, look like we are missing Cyanogen Settings
I have problem with IO schedule in CM7 and was remove dalvik-cache from list of app2ext startup script and it solved 50% of mine. I used `lsof` to see what's going to use /sdcard & /sd-ext and see that almost operations come from background apps like launcher, theme. I think we should avoid to use bind mount to SD's ext partition to get better speed. Also use `vmstat` command will see sometime 1-3 applications block IO process and it will cause IO wait almost full (about > 90).
Anyone face problem like me? and what's solution you guys was used to solve it?
Will try to tweak it and fix some buggy if possible, keep the good work guys!
I see some have offered to help with cm9 but I'm dispointed in these forms .
The first thing thats needs to be fixed are sensors.
The camera will be the hardest to fix.
I believe the defry has the same sensors as our xt can someone do a port for are xt.
The worked good for me but their seems to be battery drain.
I would like to see some team work on this cm9.
Thanks J.Y.Daddy for your help.

Anyone know the way to let android force display in portrait mode?
Currently sensors not work correctly then it always go landscape mode, it is weir.
I tried some prop in but no luck.
About sensors I tried one from CM-7.1 but no luck, look like ICS using different stuff for use sensors then fix in framework may help but I don't have time to check it out.

Un-check the box for: Settings --> Display --> Auto-Rotate Screen
Unless....of course....that is being overwritten by something in CM9.
I tried it already, unchecked auto rotate option in display setting & Trebuchet but no luck.

we can always use a 3rd party Camera App, if we can not fix the camera, right?
or are you referring to the kernel knowing there's a camera attached to the phone?

ICS changed the camera API significantly. I don't think anyone's figured out how to use the older libraries yet. Non-functioning camera is pretty common at the moment.
We really to find a fix for the sensors first then fix other things.

For camera, AFAIK we need to write a new kernel module for it as ICS is using HAL then we must have:
- /system/lib/modules/camera.ko
- /system/lib/hw/camera.sholes.so
EDITED: I've just tried with hw/camera.goldfish.so & camera.ko from MS2 then Camera app just loaded with colored box pinging, at least it not show "Cannot connect to Camera" message

Hi,
First of all, sorry for posting this in general forum, but as you can see this is my first post...
This is a snapshot of my work on bringing camera support to Tezet's Milestone2 ICS port.
This build is not intended for daily use. The camera crashes when changing mode to video or panorama, and when exiting Camera app (though this is not visible ). But preview is working (as far as I know this is better than Defy), and I took ~20 photos in a row without problems.
Regarding the build itself:
- it's based on CM9 snapshot from Feb 25
- there's a bug with contacts showing as "Unknown" in the dialer (while you dial). As far as I know it is the same on latest Defy builds, so I assume this is an upstream bug from CM9
- it may contain more (or less) bugs from Tezet's builds. It's simply different, though I use builds from my branch since early January on daily basis
- the fix for SIM lock pin is not included
- it should be possible to load this without factory reset on top of Tezet's builds and the other way around, though the last time I've tried this was two weeks ago...
- there's no need to wipe dalvik cache - the update script does this
The work is based on Atrix ICS camera support, with added overlay emulation.
What is working:
- live preview
- zooming
- flash
- focus
- exposure compensation etc
- taking photos
- ... probably not much more
What is not working:
- panorama shots
- video recording
- a lot more
Would anyone be brave enough to check it?
I highly recommend to do a nandroid backup before trying it.
Latest version for phones with European GB kernel:

Latest version for all other phones:
http://cm9-milestone2.googlecode.com/files/CM9-20120227-NIGHTLY-milestone2-ch.zip
If your phone is stuck on red Moto logo, it means you have chosen a wrong version and you need to recover your phone from the SBF file.
Repository:
repo init -u git://github.com/rondoval/android.git -b ics
All the credits go to:
- Tezet, for the Milestone2 port
- tpruvot, Quarx2k, for their tremendous efforts on Defy support (and thus Milestone2)
- whole Atrix-Dev-Team, Raviprasad V Mummidi, zivan56 for their tremendous work on the camera driver
Guess I missed this thread because it is in General Not your fault though.
I will test it as soon as I got some spare time. Sounds promising.
Thanks a lot for your efforts!!
What about bluetooth and wi-fi tethering? Are they working? I'm asking since they are working on Defy's GB kernel build.
And it would be better if some MOD can move this to DEV section.
Can we wait with that moving till I reach 10 posts?
I have merged some tethering code from Defy. Havent tested it though. I think I would have to use Defy's wifi driver, not CM9 default for that to work.
Bluetooth is not here.
sounds good !!
hmm.. so that you can respond to ppl. That makes sense.
I have installed it. It works fine. The camera starts and works as indicated.
One problem that everyone is going to notice first up is that if you make an outgoing call to a contact, the dialer shows unknown and all outgoing calls accumulate under 'unknown'.
And yes, there is no bluetooth.
Regarding the dialer: that's what I wrote about in the first post... I think it's the same on Defy right now.
Okay. I don't know about Defy but it is working on Tezet's ROM.
BTW, thanks again for porting the Atrix camera fix to MS2.
It's working on Tezet's build, but it's a month older. It was working on mine before I polled CM9 changes last saturday. I'll look into this.

Will be hoping that the wrinkles can be ironed out and we can have a better functioning CM9. And we may soon come out of ALPHA stage and move to BETA.
I noticed that there is no file manager in your build.

@sahilarora911:yep, there is no file manager...
This is really nice!
Did someone test mobile hotspot/wifi tether? if not would someone? ^^

Troubleshooting:
The unlocked ICS bootloader is required.
If you encounter an error during the flashing process use another recovery, TWRP is known to cause problem with this rom, a CWM based recovery should do it.
If you have problems with the Google Play Store after a bit, uninstall updates for it.
If you want to avoid the lockscreen bug, you can disable it in settings-security.
Report bugs & issues with your attached logcat in the development thread.
How to logcat?

@lowsum, thanks for taking the initiative.
I will ask that you maintain the OP, providing some info ie FAQ, links for gapps etc
Will get a thread opened up in dev later today...
You guys may need to track down a better jb gapps package to use, I think the one listed in the thread is causing a lot of the reported issues...
Only issue...
Excellent start... so impressed!!
Only issues I have is with percentage battery not showing in status bar and an invisible slide on wake up. It works but can't see it... a little tricky but no deal breaker.
Huge congrats on a fine and rapid effort!
*EDIT* Odd... as if by magic, the slider is back! Only thing I think I tried was rebooting a few times AND turning off BOTH screen animations on wake / lock... Weird, but happy now!
My test results
Flashed CM10+gapps.jb.20120717. GMail and some other Google apps are not included and you'll need to get those separately from the Play Store.
SOFTWARE: Market apps did not auto restore; but all of them were able to be manually installed with no errors. I used ICSBrowser with Thor's ICS ROM...this app does not work in JB. GoogleNow, Netflix, and YouTube work great. Alternate launchers also work great.
HARDWARE: The rotation lock toggle doesn't work, but there is a quick setting option for that anyway. Sound works flawlessly. External Seagate 500GB hard drive works. Acer USB mouse works. Acer BT keyboard works. DSLR Controller works with my Canon EOS Rebel XT as far as reading the memory card; but cannot capture images which was no different in ICS. I could not get a GPS lock with GPS status nor could the Navigation app get GPS.
I have not tested any games yet. I'll load up some of my favorites tonight or tomorrow and report back.
THIS IS EASILY A DAILY DRIVER. Many many many thanks to WDS!

as for the hardware rotation lock, i need to port my code over. as my birthday is now over, i hope to have some time in the next week to do it.
@waydownsouth: My pleasure, I will maintain this thread no problem. That's the least I can do. Keep it up, it's working amazingly well already.
On my side GPS doesn't work, lockscreen sometime disappears and like most rom since ICS there's some screen flickering noticable on low brightness and dark color (kernel related I think). Battery percentage is also not showing in status bar. I had a couple of browser crash, but it was with Quick ICS Browser wich has been updated to support JB.

There's a lot of CM9 code still to be ported to CM10, things will get better as things go on.
GPS is still very broken, there have been some permissions changes in how the gps lib communicates with the native proprietary daemon... I have a workaround in mind, just need to get it implemented...

This is an awesome ROM! Thanks to everyone that has put work into this. Just to report on three issues I have found:
-Gmail app crashes every darn time. The app seems to be a hot mess.
-The unlock screen seems to go "invisible" after the tablet has been on for a while. You kinda have to guess where the button is and swipe.
-I use a bluetooth keyboard. Normally the touch keyboard goes hidden when BT keyboard is connected, but not in this AOSP ROM.
Thanks guys for the awesome work.
For a first build this is awesome! Even camera works!!
I'm using it as a daily.
I do have the following issues. (This is not a complain, I'm thoroughly impressed with this rom, this is just me reporting the issues i've experienced so far)
1) GPS doesn't work.
2) Gmail, calander, and Reddit is fun GP crash occasionally. Here is the gmail logcat: https://www.dropbox.com/s/taavl8kacv23q2z/gmail-logcat.txt
I think this is those same memory leak issues we had in the ICS rom.
3) after a while the lockscreen becomes "invisible", but still functions. In the mean time I just disabled it.
4) When importing photos from a DSLR into gallery over usb the new photos do import to the tablet but do not get added to gallery. It took an hour and two reboots before they showed up (no matter what i tried).
5) despite being set to "wifi always on" wifi disconnects during sleep
6) Plugging in a usb keyboard does not hide the onscreen keyboard
Awesome work fantastic rom!!

5) despite being set to "wifi always on" wifi disconnects during sleep
6) Plugging in a usb keyboard does not hide the onscreen keyboard

i tested it for the whole day today and i had all of the same problems. in any case though, thank you very much for all your hard work! : )
So, i made this thread so we can discuss about bugs or even solving them, this applies only for 4.4 only
NOTE: SOME APPS MIGHT CRASH WHILE USING ART BYTECODE, DONT WORRY IT'S NOT A BUG (ART STILL A BETA FEATURE)
here's the strangest bug i have found:
Strangest bug
NO, seriously, these are some of the bugs i have found:
1- You can open as many times as you want the 4.4 easter egg, it depends on how fast you tap. i managed to open it 3 times at the same time.
2- screen recording just works in portrait (not external apps, the native screen recording) using the PC ADB or the Nexus 7 multi tool, it also does not support our resolution.
3- Wi-Fi optimization might disconnect the internet
4- Wi-Fi randomly disconnects (atleast for me)
5- Adobe flash totally uncompatible in KitKat independently of the Browser
6- 3rd Party Battery monitors seem not to work
7- Galley or G.Photos app miss Crop function
8- Album not visible in lockscreen when playing a song from Play Music (size bug)

Sorry for the bad english (not native)
Can this be considered a bug? Chrome and Next browser icons overlaping google search bar.

Battery monitor apps are broken due to interface changes
Flash is broken in browsers that used to support it (Puffin doesn't count - it's a server-side implementation).

Perhaps not bugs as you're looking for - any 3rd party battery monitor, wakelock monitor, etc no longer work because Google change the interface to the necessary services. Flash worked under 4.3 in browsers such as Dolphin but no longer does Google changed the underlying engine.
Bluetooth 4.4 bug
All in all, bluetooth has gotten dramatically better, with keyboards/mice etc. One exception is the BT audio is at full volume and not controllable via n7 2013 only on my UE Boombox. The newest OTA does not fix. Other BT speakers are controlled normally, and this is a nuisance.

From BetterBatteryStats dev on Google store:
* BetterBatteryStats does currently not work with KitKat. Google has made some changes breaking the access to the stats BBS (and other tools) are using. We are working hard on finding a solution but the fix isn't trivial. Please be patient*
Doesn't work for me, GSAM Battery Monitor closes immediately ...

Anyone else missing screen time in settings/battery/
I've had my Nexus on the whole time. I don't understand. Bug or just me?

Okay, so... I turned the brightness all the way up and back down and... Success.

There is no crop function when adding a wallpaper from Photos or Gallery anymore. This makes it impossible to center a wallpaper.
Lock screen sometimes doesn't show album art from Play Music, despite Play Music itself displaying it without issue.

it is for us, we paid for something we need to have it working correctly,. they must do all the impossible thing to make this work fine.
i will be updating OP with the recent bugs added here.

ART is a OS update that is fundamentally different at it's base... It's an OPTION, Dalvik is still there for us to use. How is it the onus of Android to provide compatibility for every single app in the Play Store? The fact that quite a few apps DO work with ART just points to the fact that some devs have not kept up with code changes introduced by Google.
Problem with wifi.
Wifi doesn't reconnect after turn display on after deepsleep.
Only a restart helps.
I have flash manually for 2 times

ART still isn't ready for prime time, Google knows this, that's why it's hidden under developer options

ART is not a feature of KitKat.
It is a beta implementation included for developers to test it. (therefore hidden in the developer options)
If you enable it you have to live with the instability.
And no you haven't payed anything for the update.
This MIUI Rom is very close to stable and have tons of features, it comes with preinstalled play store. If you are looking for MIUI 9 Rom and this would be the best One.
This is not my work.

Amazing rom overall, been using previous build for weeks. Video saving is the only minor issue so far.

After wiping stuff, UNMOUNT SYSTEM, then flash.
Languages included in the ROM?
Thank you OP.
Can you (or anyone else who is currently using this version) confirm if Double Tap To Wake is working?? I remember liking the previous versions of this miui but had to remove it as soon as found out DT2W is not working -- that is a showstopper for me. Also, on the video you just posted the reviewer explicitly states that there are GPS issues with the OP3T specifically, can anyone comment on this??

GPS works as intended, double tap to wake doesn't.
Back on this after trying out some new 8.1 builds. Still rom to beat.
I hope @akino553 credited properly for his work on this.

Thanks for the tip! Video saving works with this app, confirmed.
Some MIUI and ROM features aka reasons to try this rom:
GApps included.
VOLTE works.
No major bugs, daily driver.
It's Nougat but rom is smooth and fast!
Fingerprint is fast! Better that most 8.1 roms.
Slick interface, coming from very blunt stock android and OOS roms.
Great theme engine. All black theme present.
Great selection of wallpapers online.
Native call recording.
Latest GCam works.
Native screenshot scroll for extended screenshots.
Mi Account and Mi could - great native way to back up and restore your contact, messages, notes, apps. (just create free MI account)
Some minor issues:
- double tap to wake doesn't work.
- video saving issue (temporarily fixed by using footej camera from play store)
At initial boot and setup phone gets pretty hot but give it 20 mins and it's gonna be like any other rom.
Using magisk 15.2 as per developer recommendation, all good here, root gets remembered by apps.
Sometime laggy...but best miui rom
Anybody tried on op3t?
I heard in the video that the GPS services wasn't working on the 3t. If anyone has flashed this on 3t can you confirm that and also how's the battery life ? Another thing is does g cam work completely with portrait mode on both sides?

OP3T user here. Video recording DOES NOT work with the built-in camera apps. I've not tried 3rd party apps yet.
The GPS works fine,no issues faced yet.
I've been consistently getting 7+ hours of SOT. Pretty stable ROM.
