I just received N7.0 on my phone. I have been getting a few complaints about how people cant hear me or it has an echo. Is there anyway to fix this? Thanks.
I've been running it for 24 hours now, and i haven't had any echo problems. Came from the beta release 5

I'm experiencing the same.
Please use the Q&A forum, not the Android developing , it's totally wrong place for this. Thanks
I haven't noticed any echo and no complaints from people I have talked to.
Have a little bit of a reception issue, but I'm on Fi so that's a problem sometimes. Are you on Fi, or which provider?

Not on Fi. It was after I did the update that this started to happen.

sorry for bribging this up here.but its a big issue to people who make calls a lot. this topic was made in the general section.but thought I'd bring it up here l,hoping the devs can look into this.
issue: when u make a call, the call log/time logger starts running and u don't hear anything,no ringing or anything.at all.u have to hang up and dial 2-4 times for it to finally ring. apparently the other person ur calling receives the call but hears nothing as well. this issue has been reported on dk28 roms.I , myself am running bonsais latest ext4 rom and am having this issue still. some people have suggested that turning the speaker phone on and off when making a call fixes this, but I refuse to do this for all my calls.lol.no offense to the developers, but coming from a hero,I never had calling issues whatsoever . and having issues like this on an expensive ass phone doesn't make sense lol.please help.thanks.

Same issue here! Except on mine it will show the call timer and the other side can hear me but I can't hear them... gotten me in trouble already haha. Annoying that our 600 dolar phones can only make phone calls sometimes.

I have this issue as well on dk28, if you go back to dl18 it fixes it. And its not the phones fault its the unofficial leaked froyo
Please post questions in General section.
I have the same problem, and it's persisted across 3 different ROMs (all DK28 based, though).
If it's truly a problem with the leaked source, why are more people not experiencing it? It affects at least 75% of my outgoing calls. Do people just not use their phones as phones that much?
I haven't tried the speaker trick yet.
Have this issue a well. Found that if u cycle ur speaker phone on and off it will correct for one call
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I've had this problem as well.
I thought it was cause I accidentally put my phone in between two slices of bread with cheese and mustard and bit into it...
yup add me to the dk28 phone outgoing call issue list 8)
Edit: It does not happen every time but I will have to give/remenber the speaker phone cycle test when it does.
Engadget just posted a story on the two major issues of signal loss and rebooting during calls.
Maybe with this Google will start to fix the problem? I sure hope so, as both are now affecting me more than ever.

Didn't Ry guy posted that a fix is coming and they already found the problem? Its been more than 2 weeks now..
They must also fix
1)Choppy browser with and without flash.....
2)Random freeze of the gingerbread launcher...

I think it was posted that the reboot fix was coming, but not the loss of data.
Maybe I am just a lucky one, but I have had Nexus S since release and have only had a "random reboot" once; and no data signal loss issue AFAIK like Engadget has described. I have owned three Nexus Ss.
There are other issues, though, making it clear 2.3 is not bug free.

Perhaps 2.4 is coming sooner than planned and the fixes will be implemented in that? Just a wild guess.

i'm hoping they fix the quirky back button as well. that thing is driving me crazy!
I recommended the nexus s to my girlfriend, but seeing all these issues are making me regret it :\ there are no fixes/workarounds?

that was fast.
Weird. I haven't had a single one of the issues described in any form. However, the browser issues do make me angry.
Glad there is a hotfix on the way (for the issues mentioned, that is, not necessarily the browser issues)!
The only issue that regularly bothers me is the vanishing ringtone one. It's not exactly critical from a utilitarian standpoint, but I think it's stupid that I should have to root and move files around my phone in order to set a custom ringtone. Still, I'm far too happy with pretty much everything else to switch.
I think one major sticking point with the Nexus S is that we have a fairly lengthy list of at least semi-common issues, but in several cases it's not clear whether those are hardware- or software-related. This is troublesome because the latter may be reasonably expected to get fixed in OTAs, while the former will probably only ever be resolved through workarounds, if at all.
I would be very pleased if Google were more transparent about what it's working on, or at least aware of, even if they (understandably) don't want to commit to fix dates. As a user, just knowing the basic nature of these problems and that they are being acknowledged would go a long way towards improving customer satisfaction in my book.

Hello,
Apparently since I flashed my LG G2 int. on CM11, I have a echo problem . The people online with me have a voice return in their phone (they hear their voices back)
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

judging by the fact that the kernel from wootever and the PA kernel don't have this issue i would say the issue is with the kernel used on CM11 however both wootevers and the PA kernel are not compatible with the official cm11 builds and result in a strange bootloop screen flicker.
Echo

I've had this problem on both CM11 and PA4. I heard that this is a bug on almost all AOSP 4.4 roms. The latest CM nightly (12-10) actually fixed it. I have the ATT version so I'm not sure if it's fixed on your variant.
Something even more annoying for me has been that I'm hearing touch sounds during voice calls. I like the new touch sound but I don't want to hear it while I'm talking to someone on the phone. Anyone else experiencing this?
Thank you for your answer.
I'm on the latest CM11 nightly (20131209) for LG G2 int.
I think I'll still stay on CM11 and wait until a fix.
No problem. I'm sure the fix will be included in the next build.
Have you heard that weird noise during voice calls? I have only seen one other person mention it. If no one else has the problem I may swap out my phone for another one before my return period expires.
No it does not tell me anything.
Sorry

I'm having the exact same problem. People say they have all kinds of crazy feedback while on the phone with me, and I also hear touch sounds in phone calls. I have the VZW model, so this confirms that it's a nightly bug. I'll just wait for a fix :good:
Yea the echo bug is annoying. I'm trying out the 801 Carbon Rom and it doesn't have the bug. Its JB but has a lot of options.

I am on stock rom and do have this issue. Reducing the volume during a call solves the problem for the other party.
But you need to reduce to almost a minimum.
the echo problem is persistent. it obviously is not a kernel issue because ive tried about all the roms there is for the d800 and they all have the echoing, even the roms like Mahdi that say echo fix.
i've been to AT&T a few times for the issue, even returned a phone because of it,tried swapping out sim cards and nothing.
it seems more of a software or hardware issue.
i only have the echoing when calling people that are on the same carrier as me. every other carrier seems to be clear and no echo.
maybe its AT&T???

I've never had the echo on a stock Rom but do on most of the KitKat Roms. Turning the volume down does nothing for me.

I have the 801 build and Mahdi does get rid of the echo for me. I think he's trying to figure out exactly how to fix the issue and once he's done maybe that will fix it for everyone. Or we might just have to wait til audio drivers or whatever it is, is updated. If I see one 801 user say echo in any Rom I won't flash it.
Oh god i been through this with the galaxy s2. I sure hope it's not hardware. But our issue was with the noise reduction. I just noticed 4.4 roms doesn't have that issue. If i remember it was a combination with noise reduction and radio.

the echo issue seems to be out of control. happens to a lot of modern phones too it seems all across the carriers.
D801 T-Mobile stock rooted here and people on the other hand on the same carrier hear the echo. strangely enough, there's no echo whatsoever when using wifi calling. not sure what to do about it.

I never have echoed or distorted voice unless traversing bands or super low signal.
I have also the echo bug on all cm11 roms. Only the latest Mahdi have solved this problem. But what is the issus? On strock or stock custom roms i dont have a echo.
its a big known issue come on devs n mods please help us:crying:
FIXED!! Problem was a bad gapps...Why gapps matters to voice quality I know not.
I posted this in the Sprint note 3 section but realized that was silly as I have confirmed this is not a Sprint specific issue.
My callers report an echo. I sound fine to them and everything sounds fine to me; They hear their voice echoing back.
This does not happen running stock TW. either 4.4 or 5.0
However EVERY ROM I try, I get it. What gives?
ROMs tested and confirmed to echo:
(All on 5.1)
Cm 12.1
AICP
Dirty U.
Temasek
I'm UTD mainly on them all
(since mid-late July)
Doesn't matter which nightlies I try ect.
Most of the time you read about these issue they get chalked up to the phone case. This is clearly not the issue here.
I'm a newb to romming (is that verb?) Could it be by chance my gapps? As I do flash the same gapps on all...
This sucks because the stock TW (rooted ect) actually has more problems than anyone of these ROMs, but not the voice problem which is to great to bare.
On the AICP G+ group other hlte users reported it (non sprint)
Some say it comes and goes.
I don't voice much so its a little non issue for me but grand in it's effects.
FWIW This happens on landlines as well as mobile networks.
I read that this was an old CM issue fixed months ago....But I didn't flash CM12.1 until mid July nightly.
-Thanks

I've been having the same thing. It's really f****** annoying. From my experience the incoming messages are from iPhones only and I believe from at&t carrier. Seems to be longer messages. I signed up for project fi and that will be active as of Monday so well see if it's carrier related then. I've had the issue on pure Nexus, 7.0 stock, and 7.1.1 stock.
Forums online don't yield a definitive solution.
I'm on Nexus 6p, stock 7.1.1, at&t.

well, my issue started after 7.0 upgrade, before that it was not happening. Most of my friends are on iPhone, I do get messages fine with most of friends's iPhone, then 2 of my friends whenever they sent me text messages, some of their messages like that, some messages are not, so it seems like a random situation. Maybe you are right this could be only from iPhone, or somehow related to AT&T, I don't know about like you said, it is f......king annoying!.
I did not Google it (I am sure you did too), so far could not find any good info nor any fix. I even switch to non-google Messenger, issue still there
let me know if any changes after you move to Project Fi...

Only problem is I am not logged in to iMessage anywhere and went as far as going on Apple's site to "deactivate" iMessage to which it said I wasn't active.
I had read somewhere it's happening only with at&t. So well see tomorrow when I switch if it continues.
For what it's worth I just received the same type of message from an AT&T iPhone user. I am also on AT&T
sent from my pixelated Nexus 6p
For those interested, I have since made the switch to project fi and the issue has not happened again. Same phone and setup on the phone.
