S5 no deep sleep after using hotspot - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My S5 doesn't enter deep sleep after having used mobile hotspot. There's no wakelock though when it occurs, the cpu simply stays awake all the time. Only a full reboot fixes the problem
Already tried:
Toggling airplane mode on and off
Closing every open app
Flashing a new baseband
What I won't try
Factory reset
Reflashing the entire firmware through Odin
Anyone else had the same problem? I only have xposed, greenify, amplify, some apps frozen and a bunch of other stuff with zero problems apart this hotspot thing.

Hard reboot when device goes to deep sleep / doze

Hi all,
I'm running the official 6.0 ROM from this thread and the latest baseband/modem/bootloader from this thread. The ROM is working smoothly apart from 1 crucial issue: whenever the devices goes into deep sleep it reboots itself.
- This doesn't happen when the screen is on or the device is otherwise active (e.g. it didn't reboot when I was moving data off of it to a PC)
- This doesn't happen when the SIM is locked / when the device does a reboot and I don't touch it (e.g. it reboots when I go to sleep and it will be up and running the next morning - battery log shows it has been on without interruptions throughout the night)
Obviously a quite frustrating issue and I don't know where the problem lies. Any help or ideas much appreciated.
1. Backup what you want to save.
2. Wipe /system and /data
3. Start from scratch
Use the phone without installing any apps. If it works then the rom is fine. Then try installingen the apps you want to use and keep testing.

Wi-Fi not working and consuming large ammounts of battery

My asus zenfone 5 had Lolipop installed and had a bootloop problem. Every time it went to sleep it rebooted. Checking the logs I found out that it was a problem in the kernel while using the wifi state machine.
I flashed Kitkat 4.4.2 on it, no more bootloop but still no wifi. It is no problem to use mobile data for me as I have a plan that suits my needs. The problem now is that the phone consumes a ludicrous amount of battery. I'm guessing that in the background, the device tries and tries to turn on the wifi and what not but fails to do so.
I've searched for a way to permanently disable the wi-fi but every guide or tutorial to do so did not help me. The libs they suggested I deleted were not on the phone and the Build.prop another guide said to edit did not exist and the build.prop (notice the difference in casing in the name) did not have the wifi props.
How can I permanently disable the wifi?

Problem with deep sleep and nfc after root.

Hi,
After I root my phone (sc02h, cook rom nougat 7.0) with supersu 2.82, I noticed that I could not on/off the phone display with the clear view cover. A message asking me to use nfc but I can not turn it on (it does not turn to blue and always off when I go back). The beam feature also does not work (cant choise, its gray), tap & pay feature gray too..
Also when I use spy cpu, deep sleep does not working.
All these features are fine before I root my phone.
Please help. And thanks for read...
Same here. No deep sleep, no Nfc.
I have root, twrp 3.1.1.0, supersu 2.82 sr1.
Will try full stock restore and Cf autoroot (CWM recovery). Seems Cf has not these issues.

At least, the problem was Nfc. With root and Twrp, Nfc won't no more turn on and generates constant wakelock (no deep sleep at all).
I flashed CWM recovery and then phone goes in deep sleep sometimes (rarely), but Nfc wakelocks were still the problem.
So, I manually renamed Nfc, Tag and Beam apks from /app and /priv-app [.apk -> .bak] (since I don't use Nfc, that is not a big problem for me).
Now no more wakelocks and phone enters deepsleep normally
Probably flashing Cwm (via Cf autoroot) directly on clean stock rom would not have caused the "Nfc not working" and wakelocks issues. I did not try this because the workaround I've described is time saving, and good enough for my needs

wifi problems with doze?

hello!
i have installed nolimits rom for my s5 g900f
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...om-xxx-limits-1-1-stable-smooth-fast-t3304941
i choose as kernel boeffla and updated the last rev and also installed boeffla config and update it BUT.. my s5 has broken wifi... every time screen is on wifi working fine , no disconnects .. when i close the screen of the phone , and leave it like that for some time.. ( random totally when the wifi will disconnect ) once i will open it again i see wifi connected to my routers but the phone has no internet... after some time or if i close wifi and open it again the internet will be back... i tried to disable doze from boeffla config app and seems like my problem solved or at least its better than before but still not sure since the time that wifi disconnect once screen is off is totally random... but still Doze after same time enable it self again and again.. i tried also boeffla doze disabler app still the same... doze enable it self after some time..
i disabled smart switch , sleep mode for wifi , made fully re-flashing the rom , clean cache lot of times , reset the whole wifi and tried many different routers and settings and also disabled aggressive doze from greenfy and disabled doze from settings of the phone..
what else i can do ? maybe flash new kernel? like this one ?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/orig-development/kernel-crazysuperkernel-v1-t3390006
or any other idea to try fix that ?
thanks in advance!

As I understand you - the option: WIFI > Advanced > Keep WIFI on during sleep is set to "Always"?
If yes, just try how it works on stock kernel (most compatible with the rom).
Cheers

i tried and installed Resurrection remix final , the phone is beast now but the problem remain ,once i will close the phone after random time wifi will lose internet but not the connection with the router... the stock kernel is not the problem because i had always custom kernel and was working,i can try stock rom and kernel too but im sure the problem will remain...maybe wifi card is damaged on the hardware?maybe need another modem to flash ? is modem responsible for wifi too or gsm only?

[log] wifi issues after awaking from sleep

So out of nowhere I've beginning to have issues of the wifi toggle being laggy and "sticking" when I awake it from sleep. Here's a log if someone would be so kind and help me diagnosed the problem. I dirty flashed my room and kernel. I'm guessing it got something g to do with doze.......
Same here for 1 week now. I tryed everthing , network reset, clear cache, factory reset, downgrade soft , nothing works
edit: i have no doze or nothing installed that can affect the wifi toggle.
