Hmm, could it be AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint who asked for the locked bootloader? It's not locked on the international note 3 or note 3 from T-Mobile, Bell Canada, Rogers, or Telus.

No need for another discussion on this. Please continue here:

Verizon Note 3

I am not seeing a lot of support for the USA Verizon Wireless Note 3. I realize it is relatively new, but I can't help wonder if the VZW is too tightly locked that it can't be rooted, etc., or if nobody has updated their root instructions yet.
Check out the Verizon note 3 forums. People have root while keeping warranty prefect.

Trade AT&T version for Tmo????

What do you guys and gals think? Should I try and sell my note 3and get a Tmo, or trade for a tmobile note. I'm not sure how long it'll take for the bootloader to be unlocked. I'm horrible with patience when it comes to technology. I need some advice and or positive criticism if one feels it's a bad idea. My only concern with buying /trading on craigslist or any other secondhand purchasing option, is getting a phone that may possibly be blacklisted. Thoughts?

If having an unlocked bootloader is that important to you then I'd say DEFINITELY get rid of that AT&T variant note 3 for a T-Mobile variant!! I have the opportunity to get an AT&T variant at anytime for pretty much free but continually refuse the offer simply because the bootloader is locked and much rather wait until I have the $700+ to put out on a T-Mobile variant!

I think I do, I've been corresponding with this guy on craigslist. My of concern again, is the imei blacklist. I don't want to trade phones, then risk having the Tmobile version end up on the gsm blacklist.

Depends on Canada.
If we had Samsung insiders, we would have had the source code of it all and wouldn't have bothered with waiting for TouchWiz updates.
More and more I beleive that Samsung does not care about users.
My Videotron N900W8 is the last Samsung phone I buy.
For that price we should have more service.
I'lll go back to Nexus device.
Samsung, on it's way down!!!

This doesn't mean the bootloaders are unlocked. Please read the article carefully.
It clearly states, "You could find unlocked units before, but now several retailers are selling carrier-free S7 units."
All this means is that "The phones will work on AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint and US Cellular."
Again, this is not the same as having an unlocked bootloader. Not even close.
However someone seems to have stumbled upon an engineering bootloader, so this thread may not be a fallacy for much longer!

The ones they are selling are 935F. Exynos version. If Samsung locked these never buying again. They would be stupid to do that.
These aren't 935F, their designation is U.

Big shocker.
What a sh** title. You knew you were going to deceive people thinking there was bootloader news about existing phones. Shame to you sir.

Thanks. Looking like no hope for galaxy note 7. Either might have to get F version or vote with my wallet as should everybody. Bootloader locks are terrible. Some of the innovation in Android comes from xda.

It works flawlessly. The only issue is the lag and WiFi password after the initial root. To fix the lag after you've just rooted you download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigeyes0x0.trickstermod and set the governor to interactive in the general menu and in the settings tab check kernal settings on set on boot. Then finally to fix WiFi you download https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nathan.jf.build.prop.editor and find "ro.securestorage.support" click on it and set it to false, then *make sure you the hit check button* restart the phone and your good.
(Also to specify the issue with the WiFi passwords is that it doesn't save after a reboot. Meaning that you must re-enter the password after every reboot.)
