Steps for rooting Lollipop :-
1.Install TWRP 2.8 recovery
2.Download the supersu zip provided in the attatchment below.
3.Flash it in TWRP.
AFTER ROOTING YOU CAN MOVE APPS TO SD CARD .... i have tried Asphalt 8 and GAme of thrones on Lollipop.....

I just looked into the ZIP and it seems like(it is actually) Chainfire SuperSU flashable ZIP. I think it is not fair to take others work rename it, upload it by yourself and simply repost it. There are even no credits.

Here you go.. TWRP v2.8.2.0 Credits to @ashwin007. though the post say its v2.8.1.0, on flashing and entering TWRP you'll notice its version v2.8.2.0. Flash the img file via fastboot.
After that enter TWRP and flash SuperSU zip. Download the latest version from here and place it in your phone memory beforehand.
Voila, you're rooted. Quote me if ya need any more help. :good:
PS: Share this post in any thread where users ask the same thing and help other Lollipop users to get rooted.

If you find your TWRP settings getting reset after a reboot, go to TWRP>Advanced and Swipe to perform fix permissions..
The next time you enter TWRP after this, tweak your settings and they'll not get reset anymore. :good:

Sorry friend, I'm not link2sd developer.. you'll have to contact the app developer for that..
On a serious note, looks like link2sd has deprecated support for loolipop. Tough luck.

No I don't like to partition SD card...so never linked them..but moving to SD card does a good job

I think this is the problem of the zip u used. Download the SuperSU.zip from the Official Chainfire website and flash it again.

No, use either v2.46 or v2.49. The ones you are asking about are severely outdated.
@BRoy_98 you linked to a very old version of superSU, is that the same one that's in your little root package over on the main thread? If so you should definitely update it to v2.46 (linked to above) because that's going to be the source of a lot of annoying little installation hiccups and confusion. I've seen this issue on other root methods and roms, and updating to the most current version of superSU always helped.
FYI: v2.46 is the latest stable build, designed primarily for kitkat. 2.49 is a beta (very stable), designed primarily for lollipop (when you guys get lollipop, you're going to want to use 2.49 exclusively) but should still work perfectly fine on kitkat

Agreed, @BRoy_98 should really update it to 2.46. @busbybabes , in my last post I linked to v2.46, that should work a lot better for you

This process will void your warranty. If you don't care about it so go for it.
First step is to flash a custom recovery through odin. If you know how to work with odin do it and then reply my post if not tell me to give you a tutorial.

Now you have to take a nandroid backup of your phone using your recovery. It is only to avoid unexpected problems that comes with rom flashing. Boot into recovery for this work power the phone off and turn it on using power+home+volume up buttons. Keep pressing them while you are on s3 logo( about 4 seconds ) and then wait to enter recovery now go to backup section tick all and backup them.

Sorry I forgot one download. Download gapps form: opengapps.org be sure to download 5.1 arm gapps you can use any of this type's gapps but you'd better use mini or higher. After this download you can fly to lollipop.

These are about your Google apps usage if you use all of em I recommend aroma.
With aroma you can check out the ones you don't need. And I think s3 system space does not have enough storage for super at least on my i9300 it is that way.

I tried to install "CM 12.1 & gApps" downloaded from link found in youtube. But there was "error msg" at the time of installing "gApps". However, I am trying again with the link provided here. Will give feed back soon.

I tried in my SM-E500F. But error is shown when wiping existing OS data using TWRP recovery. "cm-12.1-20151124-UNOFFICIAL-e53g" file is installed successfully. But error is also shown when installing "gAAP.zip". So overall result is "NOTHING"...

Nope, you can't install it bcz E500F have 4g but E500H not. So there is different kernel and firmware on that package. Expect u can edit it

Just wait till samsung give marhsmallow to E5 haha. I want make cm13 for e500f. Just put replace kernel and firmware e500f to cm13 for e500h. But i dont know how to repack or unpack boot.img and etc

Need help, I couldn't flash it. It says unable to mount userdata.
What i've done is I changed the file system for Data to ext4 since is F2FS. Still not working, any idea?

but... i personally think miui needs supersu...

i personally flashed the arm64+6.0+pico.. works fine so far

Use latest twrp and Mount system before flashing..

The file probably corrupted.
Can anyone upload the file proper file in mirror?
Is it the global or chinese version of miui?

So which one did u flash..?? Me confused..!
It is working perfectly from the Mega link. Much more smooth than the both of the previous builds. You do need to flash supersu if you want root because the built in permissions manager root does not work. I just hope that the ota's work

Want to try this soon. Coming from 7.1.1 AOSP. Gonna flash Stock 6.0 Rom first and then this miui right ?
(i always got error 7 in twrp if I want to go cm13 for example ^^ don´t know why .... )
