[Request] MIUI w/ stock icons

As the subject reads, I would love miui with stock icons. I know some of you may not agree, but people say that my phone looks a lot like an iphone at work when I show it off running miui. That's not a bad thing, I personally don't like it though. Anyway, if someone could come out with a "stock" theme (or whatever your want to call it) then that would be amazing.

You could just use LauncherPro or a similar dock. The icons will still have the colored box around them, but they will be much smaller. Obviously the four big icons at the bottom will be gone as well.

That's the thing though, I like miui's launcher, but I don't the icons. I don't like their blocky-ness, if that makes much sense.

I agree. The icons blockiness and the fact the app icons can't go into a "drawer" are the only reasons I went back to Virtuous.

Despite the fact that this MIUI Rom is awesome, those 2 things made me going back to my old android stock ROM.
And what is the interest to put an alternative launcher since if you put a launcher (LauncherPro, Zeam,..) You lose the MIUI advantages...
They should considerate that app drawer (and putting app in that drawer) is (in a ergonomic point of view) is the best thing ... Since Day 1 there's a "menu" in every phone, and seeing all my apps on the homescreen is a little bit ... disappointing me !

There's a theme in the online theme section called Android2.3 that will give you the stock icons

Lock screen weather - how?

Hi all
I'm trying to find the way to set up weather on my lockscreen
I'm on rooted OTA 4.1.2, not willing to install any custom ROMs

Couldn't find it in the Fancy Weather settings

Try using true weather live wallpaper with it, I think it is the wallpaper that gives it the animation. There is paid and free on play store

This is what i was going to suggest but it eats resources (RAM) and doesnt work very well in my experience. But is a good alternative.

My understanding is that you will be able to do it when we get 4.2

Sort of.. it'll be on a separate page instead of the same which is kind of stupid TBH Google should have taken a page out of Cm' development page and had it on the same page at least for weather.

Your favourite cmte themes

Hey guys, anyone knows any fancy cmte themes and mind sharing?

I really like Outray. Been my daily theme for over half year now. Its not free though.

Dark Stock (also my favorite Layer's theme)
Swift Dark (very similar to Dark Stock, but slightly darker)
For non "stock" looking themes:
Flux (Dark)
Liv Dark

Deep Darkness it has those color changing ios signal bars which look nice...just wish they had a light version of the them not a fan of all black.

Tried GRVY a bit ago. Really nice attention to detail and coverage of apps.

Definitely grvy and radius. BTW install arcus if u r trying any of those, otherwise u can't access all those variations.

Hi all!
I have created a new theme called 'Stockify' for EMUI4+ devices. It has a few interesting things...
Where possible all icons are replaced by their stock Android equivalent
Other icons are replaced with fully licenced icons from icons8
The theme is deployed via the Play Store - you will be automatically notified of updates and it will take you through the install and update process
The install / update tool will be open source shortly for all EMUI theme developers
The theme is currently in Beta, I will be stockifying a lot more, but you can have a play now!

Looks good but I would like to know if the font is changed by this theme before using it because there is no way to go back to stock font with EMUI 4 as there is no more font changing utility in stock OS.

This theme doesn't change the fonts.

Thanks from a very grateful Mate 8 user. Finally a theme that doesn't suck. Even if you are going to theme the other parts of the system, please keep one version as it is now.

Looking great. The only icon I personally don't like is the Heath icon. Heart is kinda medicine one, maybe it is worth to update it with something not so anatomical? ?

I prefer white too much easier on the eyes when reading a lot on the screen. White text on dark background tends to mess with my eyes and is also a lot less visible when being outside.
I tend to prefer the subtle themes. That only changes accent color for the most part. The one I'm using now is "One Theme by Burzo". It has mostly color changes here and there. "Pixel Matte" is another one. Both in themes store.

Here is a nice white wallpaper for those who love it, not my cup of tea but maybe it's functional for some.
