Use wugfresh root toolkit:
http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/
That will let you unlock, root, and upgrade to Lollipop. From there, I had to go with Cyanogenmod 13 to get MM (the latest snapshot seems to be stable and work well).

First, search can be your friend. Second, I suggest you read, then re-read to make sure you understand what you are doing. Whether you choose to use a toolkit like Wugs or use adb/fastboot. While I have NO issues with Wug's, I cannot emphasize enough how much better off you will be by taking the time to learn adb and fastboot. There is a thread in this forum for Wugs. If you wish to use adb and fastboot you can start with http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/general/guide-install-factory-image-google-t3011715

Hello People,
Let me begin by stating that I am very very new to Android rooting and custom roms (actually, this is my first time ).
I have a SGS2 i9100G. I have attached the screenshot of my phone software details. I have searched on the internet and XDA but am unable to find or maybe understand how to root my device and install CyanogenMod 10 (JB 4.1). Whenever I reach a post which seems like the way to root my device, it talks about firmwares and modems which are different than what my phone has.
I would be very very greatful if someone can sort this for me and provide some links and steps on how can I successfully root my phone and install CM10 (JB 4.1). Thanks a lot already as I know people will start replying in no time
Cheers
Sorry. I think I posted this question in the wrong forum. Please delete it. I am posting it in Q&A.
Sorry, Again.
Hello, can someone try this tutorial to port MIUI rom? I have not got unlocked bootloader, so I can not try it. If there will be someone interest in this. Try it, please.

Wrong SECTION. You should have posted this in Questions & Answers
It is probably almost impossible:
1 ) We need clear AOSP as a base because if not there will be so freaking much bugs to resolve that it is not worth it
2 ) MIUI require special porting way for diferent socs there are diferent sources for snapdragon, diferent for mediatek but did not see any for our kirin
3 ) It need a lot of testing reainstalling so there need to be someone who can live without his p9 Lite
4 ) There is needed someone who knows how linux works and someone who know good miui rom
5 ) Maybe it would be possible with AOSP as a base but we dont have it and it is hard to port clear aosp so will not even sit with this
6 ) You have stock EMUI which is similar you dont need MIUI
7 ) I dont have actually time to even put linux in virtual machine so wont do this
8 ) This thread is in wrong section so need to be moved to q&a but I think I answered you question
9 ) Even if it is possible you will not even try this because you have locked bootloader. So if you will unlock it to install rom so why not to unlock it now and build it on your own? Just learn how to do this. For me on my old phone it did get a week to have a booting rom. But there was clear AOSP. Here I dont know will be longer so go ahead and good luck
OK changed my mind. Will try to build based on cm13 but nothing to promise and dont know when will find some time so dont expect anything
Thank you for your post
Hey guys, I would normally try to read up on any help I can find but I feel like it would take forever
for what I want to do so any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am new to Android and I want to root the Note 4 (SM-N910T) and install a custom rom like cyanogenmod
or stock android AFTER updating the stock v4.4.4 (kitkat) to Nougat (hopefully) or even Marshmallow is fine
assuming this is possible.
I am only going to use it as a tablet, and is not connected to any carrier. Of course I need WIFI.
I want to root because I want to eliminate any chance of future lag and also get rid of bloatware.
Could you please direct me or give me step by step instructions to accomplish this? You don't have to
assume that I'm on grandma knowledge level, but if one of the steps requires that I back it up first, I would
have no idea how to do this or the best way to do it....
Any advice or opinion would be appreciated as well regarding my little project. If what I'm asking is not
possible, any suggestion on how to get rid of bloatware and lag and update to the best working android
version would be appreciated!
Thanks guys!

Hi, (issues, sorry)
Im sorry for the lack of information but my device is in a really ****ty situation and I just want to start fresh. Could someone please tell me the steps to do if I just want to keep my Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery, please be very specific and with as many details as possible
.I really dont care about anything else on the device. Im not sure about my android version I think it is 10 with a month or two old version of nitroOS.
I would like to have by the end of it OxygenOS 9.0.10 but the rest, as I said doesn't matter.
Again sorry for the lack of info but I just need a good cleaning running phone.
Thanks
My guarantee on my phone has run out. I have a Galaxy S10+ exynos with one ui 4.1. Where can I start to change the rom and root my phone? Can you recommend me an up to date and safe guide?
Google could have done all of this for you.

Do you know how many results you will get if you ask google? Not all of them will be valid or up-to-date and it's hard to pick one.
I really don't understand what you're saying. I rooted my first phone thanks to articles on google. They usually don't even have to be up to date. Plus your phone is relavitely new compared to what I had.
Anyways, first look for a guide to unlock your bootloader, that's the first step.
Next, learn how to flash twrp onto your device.
Lastly learn how to flash custom roms onto your device via twrp. Custom roms can be found in your device's dev forum here on xda.
You'll need a pc, the right drivers, minimal adb and fastboot (or odin), and the required files (twrp, custom rom, gapps)
Also, you've posted this into the wrong subforum. This subforum is for rom development, it's where devs post roms. If you want to ask a question or need help then ask in the Q/A subforum.
