Hey Community,
I have Samsung SM-G935F with one Sim IMEI , its possible make new IMEI (Dual Sim) ?
if thats work maybe can get SM-G935F -> SM-G935FD for Dual Sim , work nice if somebody cracked that :victory:
sorry no, imei is a hardware issue not software. currently you can not make a SM-G935F into a SM-G935FD, there a thread discussing the reasons why.
here is the thread

that is how your provider identifies the phone, it is burned into the eprom chip as which cannot be accessed by users. there have been cases where some roms have changed the imei to generic but that causes the provider not to recognize the phone.
Your imei is broadcast to the cell towers when you turn on the phone and when you make calls.

The shop you purchased from have to register your mobile to local carrier if not it cannot be used. I think they register your mobile using IMEI then it recognizes the sim card you put in then you will be able to get a signal.
Or the phone could be stolen and it's IMEI has been blocked by the networks. But if you bought it new that's highly unlikely.

This was bought brand new and hopefully it's not stolen or blacklisted. So guys thinks I should tell the person that whom I bought it from to try get it the IMEI registered to the carrier or might need the carrier's SIM card to activated.

First of all check that your IMEI is the same as the one on the sticker under the battery.
If not your IMEI is borked somehow, search here on xda for IMEI restore/repair.
If the IMEI is the same as on the sticker contact your provider and ask them if that IMEI is blocked on their network.
Cheers.

Is it normal that the phone don't work for two different provider ? if IMEI is blocked, it must be blocked in one provider not two ?
I call one of the provider, they tell me that the phone is blacklisted. What can I do ? Is there an other solution ?

It could also be your APN.. T-Mobile NL also has two different apns. One for tablets, which doesn't have calling included and one for phones, which does have calling included.
Me Gusta!

Of course they block all of the providers. It would not be much usefull to block a IMEI if you just could choose antother provider, right?
If your IMEI is blocked and you have bought the phone second hand it is probably reported stolen. If it is like that you should hand it over to the police like mentioned before.

Probably a stolen phone as mentioned before It's best to hand it over to the police so they can return it to their rightful owner. Not sure what you can do with the guy who sold you the thing, though.
Hi to all. Thanks for this community, my problem is: I have Samsung Galaxy S5 Verizon SM-G900V but I use it for different carrier and I have a problem notification message Phone activation: This SIM card is from an unknown source. Can anybody confirm is it just my phone have a problem or any Verizon phone with different carriers. Thank you.
Verizon is a world phone. Your sim card is from another gsm carrier. It's just warning you that the sim card doesn't belong to verizon. GSM will work just fine. All verizon LTE phones are unlocked

Yes it's working fine but i have small problems. I cant send IMEI code it says Connection problem or invalid MMI code. I can turn on native hotspot (I know provider is allowed me tethering) it says Mobile number not found. I really want to hear from people with same model and different carrier if they have same problem. Because if not I can still change my phone. Thank you.

If I were you I'd change my phone. The Verizon variant is probably the least ideal for your situation. Go with t-mobile or possibly even international version. That way you can actually root it and you may even avoid these issues as Verizon phone is pretty specific to Verizon, world phone or not.

I am looking forward because sometimes I travel to Ukraine and they don't have good internet on GSM even 3G just 2G. On CDMA version I can have better dial cell number and better internet.

I don't understand why? I can wait for root it not critical for me and later use like CDMA in Ukraine. Is it T-Mobile and international can work like CDMA. Sorry for my dumb question because transfer from iPhone and new with Android and phones with OS.
I am also wait for announcement.
Is this possible? Can I put another ROM version (like international) and "transform" the SM-G900V to SMG900H for example? A friend mine have a Verizon version and is living in Brazil... The Verizon version dont have the portuguese language... And the carrier Verizon isnt present there...
I have an S5 in Brazil from Vereizon
I got my S5 to work in Brazil, 4g network and all the only problem i still have is this message of THE SIM CARD IS FROM AN UNKNOWN SOURCE but so far have not noticed any problems with the funcions on it!!!!
Can i get this message away?
And i can relate with the person on the last post, the phone does not have Portuguese as a language to choose...
for me is ok but I understand that this is a fluke by Samsung(all phones should have most languages already in it)

I think you mean the phone is locked to an operator?
I'm not sure there is an unlock for this phone yet.
Wrong section BTW.

Then I don't believe there is anything you can currently do unless you find out the original operator and contract them for a NUC code.

You realize you are putting this thread on a section called "Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development" when theres another section named "Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers" clearly more suited for this thread right?
And for your question i don't think you can solve it unless you contact the seller and ask what's the original carrier so you can go to the websites where they unlock your phone via a code.
I have the operator, when I go on the website of the operator for ask the code, it's impossible to have a code, and sorry for post the message in a wrong section, I thought with the root of the phone, everything will be unlocked
So I have a S8 G950F single sim model. Its rooted with an custom kernel. When I editet build.prob in /system and change simcardslot from 1 to 2 and rebooted the phone. It showed 2 Sim Cards. I bought an dual SIM-Slot from ebay and put 2 Sim cards in. And guess what, both were detected. The first one works fine, but the second sim is not able to connect to network, because the IMEI number for SIM2 is just 000000000000000. The first IMEI is fine. I saw on Youtube that you can flash the first IMEI to second IMEI, but then both IMEIs will be the same. Normally dual sim phones have dual IMEI numbers.
So.my question is, can i flash a second imei from my old S8 (motherboard has water damaged and is fried) to my current S8? Both IMEIs would be different and it should work fine.
I live in germany, and as long the phone is not lost or stolen, its legal
