TWRP is not compatible with our devices, you need to use SafeStrap. Here is a link to the files you'll need.

Yes, it will wipe everything. If you're soft bricked it's going to be the only way to recover from it.

Well i kind of know the rules of XDA.
But here's the catch, i have tried that method mentioned above.
Downloaded the .tar file and flashed via Odin. And now my phone is stuck on Samsung logo forever.
That's why posted here.

Hey
You are only flashing a kernel...not a full 4.4.2 original image.
And that's why you're stock on the boot logo.

stock 5.0.1 roms mega mirrors http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...06-lolipop-official-samsung-firmware-t3023794 thanks to @Mar10

take the battery out wait 5-10 secs and enter to download mode to avoid modem issues.
its not recomendable but if you have a backup of a pit file for your phone select it and thick re-partition, this is dangerous but may help with bootloop only if flashing the firmware with no repartition work, repartition with out a pit file may brick your device.

One more noob question..
I did a back up of my touchwiz before converting to CM.
And i got the back up file as normal file folder instead a zip file.
I wonder if there is a way to restore it.
I already tried zipping it and restoring from philz recovery...but it says bad file.

you´re welcome.
did you do the backup from philz recovery? i never did a backup from recovery, only with titanium, so i really dont know, but to restore a backup needs to be done from the same source that the backup was created. for the screen shots looks like a CWM recovery backup good luck.

Sorry to bother you again.
But i am facing a new kinda problem now with custom recoveries.
After flashing NEE-I9506XXUCNJ1-20141114075501 yesterday it got auto updated to 5.0.1 lollipop .
Now i am stuck with stock recovery.
Tried to flash philz 6.x.x.x as before with odin. The odin process completes itself and reboots the phone.
But when i try to get into recovery still its booting in stock recovery.
Any solution on how can i flash custom recovery on this ?
Additional info
Baseband version : I9506XXUDOA6
bUILD NUMBER : LRX22C. I9506XXUDOA6
Flash your Favorite Custom Recovery with Odin 3.xx and put it to AP. Check that Auto Reboot isn't marked. After successful flashing your Phone won't to reboot. USB Cable out and put your Battery out and wait few seconds. Put your Battery in and reboot it to Recovery. The Stock Recovery can't now overwrite the Custom Recovery.

in lollipop i used TWRP recovery (TWRP_2.8.4.0_ks01lte_20150207.tar.md5)https://www.mediafire.com/folder/p3rwwfm7xn76x/TWRP flashed with odin 1.85 no problems.
but after rooting with cf autoroot http://download.chainfire.eu/502/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-ks01lte-ks01ltexx-gti9506.zip( extract and flash with odin in pda) because cf autorrot flash stock recovery after rooting.
Important after rooting flash immediately custom recovery, if you boot in stock recovery after root all apps will force close and you will need to wipe data (stock recovery wipe data will delete internal memory as well), so do not boot in stock recovery.

You´re welcome, we all were noobs, and in somethings we still are, thats the best part of this, something new comes everytday so much to learn and do.
Just got a Galaxy S4 i9505 rotted it with Kingo Root, installed rashr went to flash something and it installed a recovery and now I get Recovery is not seandroid enforcing, but researched it up and used odin to get past that, but now everytime i try to get into recovery I get that error again.
How can I reflash a recovery that works? I have tried re-rooting again but nothing.
Now it just doenst seem to start just shows the Samgung logo and does nothing.
What exactly are you saying? That you can't boot into recovery?
Rooting has nothing to do with a recovery.
Install TWRP recovery with Odin.
You could also try flashing a bootloader or the stock rom again to make your phone boot. And root properly with CF Auto Root
I meant it like the root program I used that installed the original recovery, I have tried TWRP with odin but it says it is done but still wont boot or go into recovery
How owuld I flash the stock rom?
Was meant to click edit not double post sorry
You have to untick "Auto reboot" in odin. After twrp flashed turn off the phone and use the key combination to boot into recovery.
I think i flashed an older version of twrp cant find a link to a jar for 5.0.1
Ok i managed to get twrp working, but it still alwayss just shows the Samsung logo
Just to clarify one thing here for the audience, "Recovery is not SEAndroid Enforcing" is not an error. All custom recovery images are set to permissive mode to enable them to perform their magic. Since this is a hole in the device's security, the bootloader displays that message to let you know this. A similar message is displayed when a custom kernel is installed, except in that case the message is "Kernel is not SEAndroid Enforcing". Since this is an expected message, the only way to properly get rid of it is to not install a custom recovery or, in the case of the kernel warning, a custom kernel.
@Apexpredator12, with your S4 in its current state, you should flash your stock ROM via Odin and make sure your device is totally operational. After that, use Odin to install CF-Autoroot. DO NOT USE KINGOROOT! With CF-Autoroot you will have your S4 rooted. From there, if you wish you can install a custom recovery, though with the caveat that installing a custom recovery will result in a "Kernel is not SEAndroid Enforcing" message. As mentioned above, this is a normal message and not an error.
Ok thank you, where can I get a stock rom for the i505 only seeing custom ones
I am just so foncused I am used to the SP that was quite easy to do, the version I have is 5.0.1 the stocks I have found are 4.4 etc and just not sure what ones to use without bricking my phone again
If you have a 5.0.1 stock ROM, you can use that. If you really need earlier ROMs, you can get them from samsung-updates.com or sammobile.com.
Yeah I was looking but they seem to be .img files which I cant seem to flash with odin
sammobile.com packages the .tar.md5 files in a zip. I don't know about samsung-updates.com, but its img files should be installable via Odin.
Currently sammobile.com is having server issues, but there should be a thread on XDA where you can also download ROMs.

You are extracting to much. You can't flash .img with Odin as far as I know. You need to flash the archive in which the .img is packed.

EDIT: managed to fix the twrp thanks allot for your help much appreciated.
hey guys,
first of all: S5 was not rooted and I did never flash a custom rom on this phone
a few days ago my S5 hang up and then rebooted.. it then stucks at the bootloader ("Set Warranty Bit : kernel").. I tried entering the recovery, but it doesn't work..
I tried to flash the recent stock rom (6.0.1) using download mode and Odin 3.12 and managed somehow to get to the recovery (couldn't boot android).. I wiped data and cache but that doesn't help either..
I tried flashing
- 6.0.1 (stock)
- 5.0 (stock)
- CWM recovery
- Bootloader and Modem
after flashing the rom it stucks at "Set Warranty Bit : recovery", after flashing bootloader and modem at "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" again..
thanks for your help..

Download the firmware from fw.updato.com(IMHO is better than sammobile because you can download firmware without speed cap) then extract boot.img and recovery.img from the firmware archive (tar.md5) that you have downloaded and using 7zip make a .tar archive with those file and flash the tar with odin

So smart switch and firmware restore didn't work...the last thing you could try is that method but IT WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA exept external-sdcard but pull it out of the phone to be sure,if you have one...
So the method is:
1)Download samfirm from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
2)Config it like that: Region= DBT,Model=SM-G900F,check this option: auto,binary nature,check CRC32 and decrypt automatically
3)extract the firmware from the zip in a folder and you should have 4 tar.md5 archives: BL,AP,CP,CSC (with their infos)
4)Download the latest version of odin (3.12.3 as of now) from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451,open it and control that Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and be sure that Re-Partition is NOT checked put the archives in their right place and flash the phone
5)If the phone doesn't boot, pull the battery for 20 sec and reboot in recovery then wipe data and cache

Are you really sure that you have a G900F lol,the possibility are 2
1)the bootloader keys are corrupted so every recovery get recognized as custom(that's quite impossible)
2)you have a different phone number
I think that's the 2 because a stock recovery signed by samsung can't get recognized as custom and after a complete firmware reinstallaton custom binary status should be "Samsung Official"...
Try to pull the battery and read the info at "Model"

The last things i could think will solve the problem is try to downgrade to lollipop or kitkat or try another marshmallow firmware...if that doesn't work your phone is broken and you have to take it to a samsung service center and hope they doe sn't refuse your warranty due to knox 0x1...if they notice that you could try to say that the recovery error tripped knox even if it's stock
P.s.: Is your phone refurbished?

1)flash twrp boot it and place a boot.img on sdcard then go to advanced->terminal and exec:
dd if=/sdcard/boot.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot
If it doesn't work
2)go to the folder where you have extracted samfirm firmware open the csc archive with 7zip and extract the .pit file in the same folder, then open odin place all the 4 file in the right place go to pit and place there the pit file you have extracted and this time CHECK the repartition flag if is not checked check it by yourself or the pit will not have any effect

1) can not boot to recovery again..
2) failed to boot to recovery after reboot.. removed battery and started again.. show up "Installing system update" and after that "Erasing" but still failed to boot (rom / recovery).. Still the same information in download mode (Custom, Custom, 0x1 (2))

I'm sorry but if even the repartition doesn't work your phone is probably dead ,i think something in the motherboard(that would mean it's a hardware failure and not software problem and i think is unsolvable even with a jtag) like an eMMc partially broken and/or some printed circuit "burned" and/or other hardware part necessary to boot the recovery, kernel stopped working and that would explain:
1)why only download mode work(download mode is in sbl(secondary bootloader) partition that it's a part of the bootloader )
2)the bootloader behaviour("Set Warranty bit" even on stock partition)
3)and why none of the solutions worked
You could try to change the battery but i don't know if it will work...at least we tried
I recently tried to change my recovery from cwm to twrp but when i booted my Samsung galaxy note 3 n9005 , it gave the error could not do normal boot ODIN mode, even though the phone is turning on, i can't enter recovery mode and do other things like change my kernel, please help

You are not following the correct way to flash. That is why the twrp wont stick at recovery.
Follow my advice as follow:
1. Remove battery
2. Odin flash TWRP
see the result
