Working Key Remapper mod/app available on S7? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I'm rooted and am a bit weary of flashing/installing Xposed (because of the fear of random reboots and what not) but want the ability to have Hold Back Button to Kill App mod/feature, among the ability to remap other hardware keys.
The All in one Gestures app works for remapping my hardware keys, if you deny the app root access. The hold back to kill app works, but when I set 'Menu' for long press recent apps key it says 'Your device is not supported'.
Basically, is there a known working key remapper app/mod that works for a rooted S7. I want the ability to remap my keys, like the long press back to kill and long press recent used apps button to open menu instead of multi-window.

The lack of a home button

Quick question. On my Galaxy S, you can bring up a task menu of previously used apps by holding down the home button. Is there any way of doing this on the Vega without the home button?
Button Savior
Quick answer. Use button savior its a great app (available on the market) Adds the missing buttons as on-screen buttons. Long press that Home on-screen button and the recent apps pop up.
Thanks. Works great

Menu Remap Mod?

On my Evo LTE running CM10 the recent apps button on short press opens settings and long press opens recent apps. I like this function vs having to have a shortcut on the desktop or getting to it from notifications. On most newer phones/tablets running ICS/JB there are mods that remap this function but I've not seen this anywhere for the Nexus. I"m running stock but rooted and would prefer to stay that way if i can. Does anyone either know how to do it or if there's a mod floating around that i was unable to find using "search"?
I would also love to customize what app is opened when sliding up from the soft keys, if that's related.

Click to collapse
No that's not exactly what i'm talking about but i would like to do that as well. If i understand correctly if you hold any of the software key/button (IE back, home, or recent apps) and slide your finger up there is a dotted circle with google search button at the top. If i could place the settings app there that would get me by. As for now when i hit the recent apps button i would prefer that to be the settings button or being able to long press the button to open settings. I think what i want is a limitation of the launcher but who knows. Anyone who does have any idea how to do this please let me know. I did attempt to edit the keys file in system/usr/keylayout by trying to add an extra key for settings but it didn't work.

[Q] Change Functions Of Home Button?

I have a 9505G rooted, and I'd like to change the funcitons of the home button. Specificaly, there are two changes I'd like to make.
1. Disable the home button while the phone is locked. While the phone is locked and asleep, I can use either the power button or the home button to wake the phone. I want to disable the home button here, so that only the power button can wake the phone. I find that while my phone is in my pocket, it often wakes up "on its own", presumably because I'm accidnetally pressing the home button against my hip, chair, whatever...
2. Launch the recently-used apps list by holding the home button. On previous devices I've used (such as the Galaxy Nexus), holding down the home button would bring up the list of recently-used apps. With the S4GE, the long-press brings up Google Now, and a double-click is required for the recently-used apps list. I'd like to change this behavior so that a long-press brings up the recent app list, and double-click does nothing.
Can this be done, and if so, how? Thanks for your help.

Completely changing Menu button to Recents

Google has already told everyone to stop using hardware menu buttons and to instead use the built-in software ones in the apps.
Unfortunately there's quite a few devices, the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 included, that still have a menu button.
My goal is to successfully remap that button to a Recents button, and enable the built-in software ones. I'm using Hyperdrive RLS5.1 on my device, but this technique should work with any other ROM too - if it doesn't, there is either a conflict or you might need to change other keylayout files as well.
I fairly easily remapped the key.
You just use a root file explorer like FX to go to "/system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl" and find the line that looks like "key 139 MENU" and change it to "key 139 APP_SWITCH". Then reboot the device. When you press the button, it will open the task switcher - but there's a nasty caveat. When you do this, the device still has the menu key in it. So if you go into an app like Firefox or Viper4AndroidFX and try and change settings, you can't. The menu button is inaccessible.
But, no fear: the solution is the Xposed Framework, combined with MenuBeGone, which can be found at http://repo.xposed.info/module/ro.epb.menubegone. I've checked the source code and it's completely benign - the key here is that you have to force every app to return "false" when it checks if the device "hasPermanentMenuKey".
It doesn't matter how much remapping you do, the device still technically has a physical menu key. Lil' blighter.

Multiwindow vs long press back

Since the early days of android, I used long press back to kill my application. One of the best customization features. But now samsung also has a good feature for the long press back option, multiwindow.
I want to use both, but my finger muscles are hardcorded to pressing this button for killing applications Is it possible to change the key for multiwindow for example long pressing the menu button? Perhaps trough a xposed module maybe?
