TWRP 3.0.2 for HP TouchPad, by FlintMan
Hello folks! I didn’t see this easily located around here, so I figured I would repost.

Mind you, I am not the developer of this. I had found it online on FlintMan’s webpage, and it’s hard as hell to get at without jumping through a lot of hoops online. I have installed and I am using it. So I’ll post it here.
FLINTMAN-TWRP-touch-data_media-SELINUX-f2fs-3.0.2.0-09-06-16.zip [9.1 MB]
https://mega.nz/#!wYNCmbDD!a6rNd_GdfT9LJ6RYhRg83ZIIQGjB3W4xJ3Q5reGV8Ws
I’ve attached a few screenshots.
Note that if you are flashing from within a slightly earlier version of TWRP that can flash recoveries, you’ll get a failure error if you try to verify the signature. There is no zip signature in this. If you turn off zip signature verification, it's fine.
I haven’t seen any problems. I’ve flashed several ROMs with it and everything seems okay.
(Mods: move or sticky this thread if you see fit.)
I currently have moboot and CWM on TP. Can I flash this directly from CWM to replace it?
thanks

I would also like to know this. Didn't know if I have moboot and it lists clockworkmod now, if flashing via clockwork would replace it w/ twrp? Or need to do more to get rid of clockworkmod in moboot? Thanks!

You should be able to flash this ZIP in CWM and your recovery will be overwritten with TWRP.
But, what version of Moboot and CWM are you using...that is important in figuring out the answer.
Moboot: 0.3.8
Recovery is PhilZ Touch 6.44.9 Clockworkmod: v6.0.4.9
Surely recovery is old, think moboots newer...just don't want to goof anything up. Thanks!

I'd try it anyway. Worse that will likely happen is that the ZIP won't flash.
Flashed it and it replaced clockworkmod in moboot as well. No issues. Thanks! Good to have a new version of a recovery vs the old one. Now to backup and try Nougat rom soon

Hi
I am trying to install Android 7 on my TouchPad (previous Android version has crashed).
Have an issue when trying to use these TWRP recovery with tptoolbox: I always got the message that the .zip file is "unrecognized/unsupported zip".
Any idea how I can workaround this issue?
Thanks a lot

TPTB doesn't work with the latest versions. Use this alternate method.
Hi @RolandDeschain79,
I've just been following the changes in TWRP for some of the other devices I own, and noticed we're up to TWRP 3.2.x now for most devices.
Your post below, is a BRILLIANT source of all the latest TWRP builds for our Touchpads. I was wondering, do you know if Flintman is still updating and knocking out new TWRPS for our device? To add and bring Android 8.x+ base for our recovery??
Cheers, Lister

failed to flash twrp ox 3.1 (https://www.fshare.vn/file/8AH9KRVS4URW). I tried flash it using twrp 3.0.2.0, but failed too
Well, this is interesting.. The step-by-step guide is a bit confusing though. I will download and try the 'ol good method of flashing ROM, gapps and supersu. Hope it works!

twrp has not made it to 3 ox you have to use a downgrade to get a fresh start using unbrick method, (keep flashable backup via flashify) get twrp installed with the new (old) boot loader, flash cm14+ext. and you are done.
if you had cm13 or the likes, please confirm if you CAN upgrade to 14 before ox people start trying to install without knowing if it even has android 6 (last update i saw on the branch was from june 7 so idk)
teamwin does not have twrp for the ox 3 on oneplus x yet (on their releases anyway) so you have to follow some other process to downgrade to a twrp'able os (and a backup) before trying yo install this
if i see any info from people who have been able to update (and if it has android 7) i'll try to make a video on the process (in white, Texan english)
Please remove this page.

Seems like the guide says you have to boot into it, not flash it.

You're right. I tried fastboot boot twrp_for_ox_3.1.0.img instead of fastboot flash recovery twrp_for_ox_3.1.0.img and it booted into twrp_for_ox_3.1.0. But it still return an error when flash CM14, the same of twrp 3.0.2.0.

Looks like a successful install to me. Could you provide twrp logs?
With whose permission did you post this build here ? Don't you think there was a reason that even after a complete build of CM14 it was still not posted to the forums ?
I am asking you, as politely as possible, to remove the links and this fake procedure, when N is ready, it will be shared, you might find phony builds or legit but non working ones on the interweebz, that doesn't mean it gives you the right to share it just because you think its cool, because its not.
Take it down.
EDIT: Sure, if you build yourself and want to share it then you're more than welcome.
And then they will cry if things are broken !! Take it down folk !

This Build was just a test build, what made u think that i will not post it here on xda if the rom booted? We, the team are working to make it work but yeah dont post the builds from afh here, will update u all for sure when its done. I think it was my mistake to not to make that build private. -_-
It flashes successfully but doesn't boot, goes back into recovery. Still, great work.
congrats for succesfull starter build
hats off !!!!! to you guys ([/B]developers off this rom) :good:

Hi xda users,
I am very pleased to present VERY OLD NOUGAT FTFs Google Drive Mirror + Patched Kernels.
I spend lots of time and bandwidth for you, so please hit Thanks :fingers-crossed: button and comment below..
Read First
This in NOT Backup TA Partition or Bootloader Unlock thread.
FTFs on this thread are original STOCK rom files.
If your device BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED, you can use Patched Kernel if you want.
If your device BOOTLOADER LOCKED, you can NOT use Patched Kernel.
You do NOT have to USE patched kernel, just flash FTF. Use like a stock ROM.
I build Patched Kernels for ROOT, TWRP, MAGISK users.

Here's my report:
I followed the 14 guide steps, except for wiping everything (I didn't select any wiping option at all).
No root device with intention to keep the factory-clean firmware as well as all user data.
The device was originally "Customized HK", that hasn't received any latest FW updates.
New FW installed flawlessly, keeping all user data on device :good:
Thanks again!!!
P.S. I used XperiFirm and FlashTool myself to get the desired FW version ftf file
Thank you for your hard work. Why don't you add TWRP 3.1.0 to kernel image ? not recovery boot image ?

I looked at update-script and modded files. They have different package names..
Sony camera app's name is not "SuperVideoCamera" anymore..
You have to edit all apk, jar, odex file names and script..
This is a solid guide. Thanks!
In case anyone else experiences it — on first boot, i couldn't add fingerprints as the scanner didn't seem to work. Skipped it and after a reboot, everything worked fine.

If you can flash rom, Gapps or any other things expect kernel, then your twrp works fine and you flash the wrong kernel for that one(you flashed the another model)
And maybe it's bc of your twrp that can't flash kernel and need the special one that the kernel dev should be mentioned
Would you please share the link or give me more details?

yes, I can flash everything else except kernels.
the issue is all TW 6.0.1 kernels here have their links removed so I just have them from re-uploaders outside of xda forums, here is a kernel of a total of 3 kernels that don't even flash no matter what recovery I'm using

and thanks for the reply
update: the recovery doesn't freeze in the middle of the procedure. it freezes at the very beginning like "checking digest files" and things like that

already tried that, but have you looked at the file? it has patches for wifi and things like that, when I extracted the zip file and flashed only the boot.img the rom worked but without wifi and with a lot of bugs.

The flash was on the SD card. Card removed now. Any ideas how to fix this?

Wait just flash a rom with odin then go back into bootloader and flash twrp.

How do I mark the best answer?
I've installed the LOS, got it working but no gapp apps. So tried to flash TWRP again, but it always boots to the LOS 18 recovery and not TWRP. Now going back to Note3 stock. There must be something I'm doing wrong somewhere.

Before you flash the recovery, untick the Auto Reboot option in ODIN. Then flash the recovery. After flashing in done, reboot your device directly to recovery mode from download mode by pressing Vol up + Power + Home button together. Now you will see the TWRP recovery is booted in your device. Now you can reboot normally and your TWRP will be installed.
