When will we see Kernel 3.8 for Grouper/Tilapia?

I been patiently waiting for kernel versions that brought us to a more modern Linux core ie 3.4+, but for what ever reason I keep seeing all the kernel devs using 3.1 still.
Does anyone know why the devs are sticking to 3.1 sources? Is it because they can't get their hands on the source files for newer kernels or something else? 3.8 is supposed to have native support for our android devices so it makes me wonder when will we get access to 3.8. I know it's rumored to be the version for Android 5.0 but isn't the sources already available to use now?
Any idea what the hold up is? Thanks

Can anyone develop a 64 bit rom for our device?

For moto g5 plus there is 64bit custom rom will our device get 64bit to get Google camera 5.0 working.

Actually, g5 runs snap 625 which is a 64 bit architect processor, where as 617(just functional is each for us).
So now you may have understood that its not the rom but the support from processor.
One should have easily rom it till now. But what the use of psp in rural area[emoji16]

Snapdragon 617 is also a 64bit processor but stock rom os is 32 bit same as g5 plus and htc a9 has same processor but has 64bit os .

True, i checked in snaps official page and 617 is a 64 bit processor, sry for posting w/o verification.
Pn developer about it, may they can reply more efficiently and tell us also what they says.[emoji6]
If you gays are not soooo lazy you have done some research on the active threads and found the the procesor is 64bit but the bus is only 32 so is not worty have a 64 bit os since the bus will need twice cicle to transport the data.
Htc a9 has 64bit os and it work fine

Here it is.

It is really nice that the developers are trying to make a x64 build for athene, but is los 15.1 the best option?
Because it is not stable by itself, and trying to make it stable AND 64 bit compatible at same time, isn't it too much effort? I understand that one way of thinking is "we can make it stable with 64 support already!", but maybe a port from 14.1, which is more stable, for 64 bit would show if it is worth or not (it will show what a 64 bits build can and cannot do, also performance), and in mean time, try to make 15.1 stable
I know that Dreamstar is doing almost all the job alone here (15.x and 64bits builds), so I'm thinking in try to make the 14.1 build port. I can code, but never did anything like that, not even close

LineageOS 15.1

I saw that LineageOS 15.1 was announced. Any idea if we will be seeing LinaegeOS 15.1 on the Note 4 variants? Are there any technical reasons it wouldn't work? I thought I read that Android O only supports 64bit devices, so that could be one reason it may not work?
Well, if there's a device maintainer for our Note 4 willing to spend time porting it than it should be possible. But I would bet there's only a maintainer for the Snapdragon variants and not for the Exynos at best.
There's always a chance for a port or a straight out official rom.
Android O was supposed to be broken into different versions, one supporting pure 64 bit and another that was meant to run on 32 bit and 64 bit with low hardware specs.
If someone could use the Oreo Go version of 8.0 as a basis for a 32 bit lineage, we might have something. But then again, my experience with Android limited, so i may be talking out my butt.

is it possible to get Android 10 Dualshock 4 drivers or just Bluetooth drivers on pie

Sony released remote play for all Android phones this week with compatibility from Android 5.0 onward but it's recommend to have Android 10 to use a DS4 due to better compatibility drivers. Is there any chance you could rip the drivers from the OnePlus 7 or 7 pro on OOS 10 put them in a zip and flash them through TWRP or magisk?
I think you just need to wait since the official update is coming this month of October.

Not to argue specifics but the beta comes out this month and the full release is next month. But I understand your point. I still want to know if it's possible to do it though.
Drivers are in the kernel in Linux based systems. You can't just 'rip' the drivers. You have to find a kernel Dev willing to work this with a soon deprecated Android version... with yet unpublished oos kernel sources, only AOSP ones. Not easy
That's why it will be more easy to wait beta / official OOS. Or perhaps be ready to try one of the Android 10 ROMs floating around there

Understandable thanks for the answer, I thought it was more like the adreno drivers that you could update through TWRP or magisk I forget which one I just remember doing it on my V20.

[SM-T510] (2019) Search for Nethunter/ Kali Linux rom and guide

Hello guys,
this is my first post. Since today I´m a proud owner of a Galaxy Tab A (SM-T510 with 64 GB ROM and 3GB RAM, newest stock android build T510XXU2ASK5, never connected to internet yet).
I want to install Nethunter OS or Kali Linux (if possible) on this and read many hours in the internet but there are some questions:
Has anyone flashed the SM-T510 with Nethunter OS? (if this isn´t possible, a way to just use the kali apps is fine too but not my first choice)
Is it possible to flash directly to the ROM instead to a SD Card?
Which type of processor has the tablet? I think it is amd64 not arm, right? Maybe I could try to flash a Nethunter Image for Galaxy Tab S4 but I´m sure this doesn´t work cause the processor is not exact the same... (https://www.offensive-security.com/kali-linux-nethunter-download/)
I found this thread about Kali Linux installation but I would find a direct installation better https://forum.xda-developers.com/hardware-hacking/hardware/devices-kali-linux-installation-t3414523 (If I can´t install directly, can I use this guide for my device after I rooted it?)
A few years ago I flashed Android on a SD-Card for my HTC Kaiser 130 (still working fine), so I have a little experience about flashing and so on but flashing this tablet looks a little bit more difficult to me, so I want as much information as possible cause I have only one try (in the baddest scenario)
I hope you can help me.
Thanks for reading! (I´m from germany, so I´m sorry for my bad english)
Edit: I have found UserLAnd and will try it now, if someone has a better suggestion, feel free to post it
Where'd you get the idea that this was an AMD64 tablet? All Samsung Galaxy Tab As are ARM, The T510 has an Exynos 7904 or 7885 SoC. And I've never heard of anyone porting a Linux distro to one.

Thanks for your answer lewmur, I just read it is a 64bit proc and thought it is amd64, my last tablet is some years old and I just thinked the technical development is quicker... ^^
Hmm... sounds like bad news, I just googled yesterday and it is a Exynos 7904, yes you´re right. That means it is closed source, damn.
In this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-m30/help/hope-custom-rom-development-m30-exynos-t3910256) I found someone who maybe has kernel source, I will write him. Maybe where is a way to build a Nethunter image by myself. I have tested UserLAnd on the tab and I don´t really like it, it´s not smooth.
On monday I will go to the shop where I buyed the tab and try to give it back, maybe they have goodwill, then I will buy online a nexus tablet, looks much more easier.
Thank you anyway, maybe someone has some more good tipps for me.
I have downloaded this
nethunter-2021.3-generic-armhf-kalifs-full.zip
and flashed it with TWRP on my Rooted Device and it works on SM-T510 Android 11 StockROM
