Well I don't think so... I tried with my lumia 630 build 10586, and it doesn't work.
But you still can try it yourself: http://forum.xda-developers.com/windows-10/windows-10-mobile/test-build-10572-t3241559
NOTE: don't change it more than 305!!! An user said that even if you change it to 1024 (I mean 1GB) it will use only 305!!
Leave a like if I helped you.
Thanks, Sznabi

HKLM–>SYSTEM–>Platform–>DeviceTargetingInfo in the registry.
Areas of interest to change are:
PhoneManufacturer=
PhoneHardwareVariant=
Make sure you write down or take a screenshot of original values first. Change to what you need.
I got this from here XDA, and other sites. Do some searching. You'll find what you need. And you mean ROM, right? If not, then my bad. lol. :good:

I'm tinking of storing some info there. Also, can the files stored in the ROM, such as the camera, fm, etc be deleted?
Here is a link to getting it working on other phones, but i cannot get it to work on my TG01 (basically the type string remains as 'TG01' and will not change) any idea's guys?
Here's a link to the post:
*****Blackberry Application Suite******
Please help guys, there must be a simple way to change the type string.
you mean you can't change the name of the phone to HTC Raphael, as the instructions in the other topic say?
yeahh pretty much, any ideas?
no, but we should keep this thread up, so maybe someone will help us
yess definately, hopefullyy Nokser could help us out?
Anybody help us out changing the device ID?!
What exactly is going on?
You want run apps from BB to TG01?
Basically, this app allows you to run a RIM (blackberry) virtual environment (a bit like the harET for android) so you can launch and run blackberry apps.
here is how they got it working on HD2
BAS on HD2! Video Proof.
so can someone get a custom setmodelID.exe?
Crafted on it.
It may be interesting.

Hey guys, i was just wondering if it were possible to change the ID or whatever our phones use to tell the apps what device we are using.
For example, I downloaded that T-mobile backup thing and when i ran the app it said the phone I'm using is not supported by T-mobile. There was also once a time when Pandora radio wouldn't work because my device was called 'Leo".

Thats a really good question, I think it has something to do with the build prop. Not positive though.
P.S. Questions like this belong in the "general" section.
Sorry, had no idea my post didnt belong as I normally get here via the Android Development topic located on the HTC HD2 ROM development page.
I'm not sure, but I've read something about this long time ago.
But I can't find the link anymore, I'm sorry, try to google "Change Device ID Android"

I'm sorry, I've just found it again and it was something about the Bluetooth device ID, and that ID should be easy to change
I don't know how to change this ID, I think it is IMEI related anyway, so it isn't possible on a legal way..
Cheers
Yes, you have to edit the "build.prop" file. Some "chefs" include it inside the build while others put it inside the system.ext2 filesystem. In the latter case you will have to open system.ext2. If you have no experience w/ a Linux system I would not recommend it though.

The IMEI is a unique number. I just looked it up.
It is 15 characters long. The first 8 are for identifying the phone. There is also the producer included. But you are right, the IMEI has nothing to do with the model and/or apps that won't install.
i am pretty sure you do this by
Make a backup of /dbdata/databases /com.android.providers.settings /settings.db file
Then in ADB:
su
cd /dbdata/databases/com.android.providers.settings sqlite3 settings.db
sqlite> insert into secure (’name’, ‘value’ ) values (’android_id’,'device_id_goes_here’);
sqlite> .exit
Reboot
note 'device_id_goes_here’is your 16 digit HEX device ID
This is not illegal, and does not effect the IMEI... It is a separate 16 digit hex number.

Since the AppMarket checks the phone id, if the ROM you installed isn't on the approved list you can't even download this.
O.K. i have looked for the answer to this question and the closest i can get is from a post in 2006 using Hypercore. So with that said i am sorry if i am overlooking the the answer somewhere. i love the WhiteStone_WM6.5_D4C2_21905_COM2_PV built by "pdaviet".The problem is that I would like to open this rom and add a couple of thing to it wrap it back up and put it back on my phone. How do i do this. i have been trying to figure this out for 6 hours now and i am about to lose my mind not to mention my eyes. any direction somebody can point me is appreciated.
Try this method, and ignore posts that say you can't dump protected roms. You may need to change settings, depending on the device.

thanks for quick reply i would like to adjust it for hd2.
I got this kitchen customized only for TP2 devices. No time to adjust it for HD2.
BTW Anyway even if you would have such a kitchen for HD2, I don't think it will be any usage for you if you don't know how cooking works...

thanks again i only need this to add few apps in a custom rom.i dont know much about cooking but i am trying to learn with help ofnice people like you.
Just install them by using cab files. Much easier (and safer!).
Recooking roms is not something you are able to learn in a day or two.

i know it is not easy but can you please tell me how can i modify this to extract leo rom.thanks
You're gonna need to modify the ini files in the tools folder. I think you'll need to add the HD2 to the list in htcrt.ini and htcrt_devices.ini, and then get a Leo.htcrtproj file. The easiest thing would be to download a Leo-specific kitchen and get the files (or maybe the settings that you need.). I've never done it before, but it looks pretty easy. Just open the files with notepad, and you'll see what's missing.
thank for reply .i will give it a try,
Last night, my phone is broken (hard brick). Besides, I lost my ext-sd card (I had to format.). I used Swapper2 program by making a very big mistake. (Efforts to improve phone.)
Swapping normally supported by CM 10.1 kernel. And I'm sure swap supported. I checked swap by Terminal Emulator command. It shows "swap" word (that are supported).
My phone is not responding. Any button doesn't work. Charging doesn't work. USB to PC doesn't work. (PC doesn't detect normally.) :crying:
What should I do now? Is there anything I can do without sending service?
Waiting for your help guys.
EDIT for more information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126363
I followed this link. I applied everything. After I turned off phone it died (Could not open any more.). That's it.
I saw like 100 people getting their phone hardbricked after using the swap thing. That's why I won't ever do that bulls*it.
There's still a way, but you're missing one essential file.
