Hi all,
I have searched the forum without any success on how to enable VoLTE on UK or Egypt Note 3s with the Lollipop update. I mean these devices have the lollipop update in place but dont have the VoLTE setting available on them.
I was expecting a universal patch file - to enable it in firmwares where Samsung has not explicitly enabled it.
The strange part is though they have a device capable of VoLTE - Snapdragon 801 supports HD Voice and VoLTE, i do not understand the reason behind not Samsung not enabling it in basically the same model (SM-N9005) available in different markets.
Note: Would my only option be an install of HK radio based ROM?
Even I am stuck in the same condition......
Would be great if you say what rom of hlte would be great for VoLTE ....Thanks in advance....

Hi,
it seems some Android devices (AFAIK those from Luxembourgish providers) are missing the LTE option on the latest official firmware. c.f. attached screenshots!
Are others also concerned ? What could be the reason ?
Hi guys.
I'm planning to buy Note 4 in my country, Turkey and they sell sth called N910CQ. I heard that they disabled 4G in that model. I'm not sure if it's about that or not because we don't have 4G here yet. My question is, is it ok to flash N910C stuff to N910CQ? I read that the only difference is CSC and I read that it's about Signals. Thank you.
I am using Note 4 N910CQ - Turkcell device running Russian Firmware (N910C). No issues at all. Device does support LTE unfortunately we don't have a LTE connection.
My phone's about screen says it's N910C not N910CQ

Oh great then! So we can flash kernels and roms for 910C. Do you know what are differences between C and CQ?
There is no differences between C and CQ. Q stands for Turkey nothing else. You can flash C rom to your device.
One thing you should pay attention is when you flash a C firmware instead of original CQ FW, model number shows N910C which makes easier to detect odin flashed firmware if you care about warranity. But anytime you can return to stock CQ with no problem.
Hello everyone,
A Note 4 N9108V end up to my hands, but after using it i realised it cannot properly operate in my network.
It is a snapdragon variant, single-sim version for China Mobile, has lot of Chinese stuff totally useless if you are outside China and does not have Google apps also.
I manage to root the device, install custom CWM recovery, install a MIUI7 ROM that is quite good, install Google but still have problem with 3G coverage (and LTE ofcourse since in China LTE is different than EU)
I have 3G coverage, but if i will move to another location i will not be able to make calls, and i will also appear as unreachable if someone is calling me. Also data connection will not work. Later, it may work correctly for a while.
In GSM mode is working perfectly
I took it to a local repair center to check for hardware problem, they say that it is probably the baseband (modem) software that is designed specific for the China Mobile network, or there is a bug.
I tried all the available official ROMs and modems for this device (4.4.4, 5.0.1, 5.1.1) but nothing improved.
The only thing i manage to do is to have this amazing phone working only in GSM mode....
It is like having a Ferrari with pedals.
I am thinking if it is somehow possible to load the modem file for the EU model (N910F), and this may "unlock" the needed frequencies to operate correctly. Or even, if it possible to load the entire N910F or similar non-branded Note 4 formware to the phone, since i suppose the hardware is the same.
I tried to load this modem file and the n910F firmware with Odin but is not accepted, the procedure failed.
Any ideas, proposals etc?? (except of hammering the device, this will be my last option)
Thanks in advance
I have been looking for a custom ROM with VoLTE enabled but quite disapponited that no dev could present one. LOS apparently have not even thought about introducing VoLTE on i9505 LTE international version though I myself could manage to get VoLTE working - that is for the only VoLTE provider at present in India namely Jio - via stock ROM after experimenting with the method described by @dhiru1602 on this forum but never found anything else. With LOS the VoLTE provisioned flag is not even enabled and so none of LOS based ROMs could provide a way for VoLTE.
One can find my alternate method which I used to modify a stock ROM for VoLTE at the link below. I have been using it since the day I posted it without any problem.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/volte-i9505-international-jio-easy-t3657679 using sammobile website for the stock FW and YouTube for necessary firmware and files.
I am more than sure some dev will take it up to provide a solution. Will highly be appreciated and a BIG thanks in advance. Hope to see a FW soon.
Hi,
I own a Samsung Galaxy J5 Pro 2017, Model SM-J530F, which I bought from UAE. The specs on the box shows it as a 4G LTE device. I am quite confirm it does not have VOLTE in the settings. Now that I am using it in INDIA with Reliance JIo services, I badly need VOLTE functionality on this phone to make it possible to make & receive calls. Is there any way to add VOLTE functionality to it ? Any solutions from our developers ? Please don't ask for flashing a custom rom!
Thanks in advance!
( Though I can install JioCare app & use it but the app is not available on Wifi, works only on Jio LTE ( Jio Mobile Data ) & forces to keep the wifi turned off permanently for the functionality. Actually Jio provides 4G VOLTE only connection & it is not backward compatible with a 4G LTE only device. For that Jio uses VOLTE layer from within their JioCare app to support a 4G LTE device )
This phone is still quite smart! Please help!
Looking into your device model, it seems like there was no India release. In situations like this I would recommend flashing the INS version of stock firmware but since it doesn't exist for this model, I honestly think your only option is to root and edit the CSC features file yourself which can be annoying and quite honestly very long process.
You could also attempt to just flash another region and hope that it has VoLTE included. I don't know if this would even work though.

Thanks for the quick response! I really appreciate it but I was just thinking if there is any other way ? Jio uses VOLTE layer from within their JioCare app!
Hi,
If I understand it right, I have to use CSC file & not the HOME_CSC file to see any changes that I desire, right ?
Thanks in advance!
