Hi Guys,
The lock button is pretty high and I don't want to use it. Any way to get 'double tap to lock' ?

Some launchers have the feature.
If you have root, you can use GravityBox to enable double-tap-to-lock on the status bar and the navbar.
What I did to get it on the homescreen was combine Nova launcher and GravityBox action (Goto sleep).

Is it possible to make knock off and knock on work on other launchers and lockers

It'll be awesome if knock on and off works with other launchers and lock screens !! Is it even possible to make it work !? Just asking for opinions coz it's the only thing that stops me from using any other launchers and lock screens !! I wish if it was possible

if your running the stock lg software then you should be able to double tap the notification bar at the top to use the knock knock feature!

It is awesome, and I know you can do it with nova launcher. That's what I'm using and I've got knock on and off.
So you can't turn on the screen with double tap if you have Nova or Apex as the main launcher?
Didn't know that!

yea that's a sad fact because some of us like different launcher, it also applies with some widgets too
Knock on works regardless, some ROMs have knock off through nova settings gestures and buttons - double tap - shortcuts - custom shortcuts - go to sleep

This is confusing.
Some people say knock on works with other launchers and others say it only works with LG launcher.
Someone please clarify.

okay let me specify the knock on double tap to wake the device should work regardless of launcher but the knock off double tap for screen off only works with the stock launcher
Knock on works fine with Nova launcher. Knock off only works if you double tap the status bar.
However, as previously mentioned by @Art Vanderlay, using Nova gestures it is possible to have a fully working knock off.
Personally I use Nova > gestures > double tap > shortcuts > gravity box > go to sleep.
*I am using a custom stock ROM
A good solution!
A good solution would be asigning "double click" gesture to screen lock. What I found very useful and fully working is to install "Lock" shortcut which "elias.grande" has created and can be downloaded from this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799265
Although he made this APK for rooted device to modify "Quick Launch", it can be installed on non-rooted devices as a shortcut to lock screen. So I suggest you to download "QuickLaunchLock.apk"!
I've been using this app: Screen off and lock by Katecca
in conjunction with Nova launcher.
Knock on as previously mentioned will continue to work with Nova regardless, no no need to do anything.
After you install the above app, go into Nova settings "Gestures and Buttons" -> pick the "Double Tap" gesture -> select "Screen Off" from the app list and voila you are good to go.
Now the double tap to lock your device works from anywhere on your screen again and not just from the notification bar area.
Cheers!

Lg and Nova launcher questions

What would I be losing if I changed my default launcher to Nova? One thing I noticed immediately is the double tap to sleep function (anyone know how I enable it as a Nova gesture?). Am I losing any if the other Lg functionality like quick window or slideaside?
Also which launcher is more battery and ram friendly.

There is a wonderful app called "Screen Off and Lock" by Katecca that will let you use your double tap to turn the screen off anywhere like before.
Been using it with Nova Launcher on my G2 for a long time, works flawlessly.

Double tap notification bar to unlock and lock

Just thought I'd share with you all a little something I found. You can double tap the notification bar to lock or unlock your phone, without needing to use the power button
Or if you use Nova to set gestures double tap with screen off app. Same as LG launcher.

Yep and you can even double tap an empty part of the homescreen to lock and unlock as well!
Its one of the features of the G3
Double tap on/off with the G2, Flex and now G3 is one of the cool features LG has been doing.

Tweaksbox also has a double tap home setting. I use that to turn off the screen.

[Q] G2 and custom launchers. Are there any that support double tap to sleep?

I've tried loads of launchers right now and none of them seem to make the phone go to sleep if I double tap the screen.
I know that you can double tap the notification bar to make it go to sleep but that's terrible. It's uncomfortable to try and do so since my hands are not that big.
Nova Prime, add Screen Off app on Gestures in Nova Settings.
Most do not by default.
Action Launcher does have an option to turn screen off in settings. I use it on my Nexus 7.
Nova has options for Double Tap, but requires a "Screen Off" app from the Play Store. Pretty simple and works great.
I have found other launchers that have "Screen Off" as options too. They just aren't enabled by default.
Action launcher 3, gestures setting (double/triple tap on screen or on home button, swipes, etc.).
Just use Lock Screen App and problem solved. It works flawlessly.

If you are on AOSP, there should be SlimActions (and screenoff there) included, which might be used in f.e Nova's launcher double tap gesture
Nova. It just works, no additional app needed. Double tap on notification bar.
That was not the question. Double tab on notification bar is different from tapping somewhere on the screen.
Smart launcher + secure settings dose the job for me

Double tap to sleep on lockscreen?

Guys, do you know any method to get Double tap to sleep when on lockscreen? It'd be very useful to fastly switch off the screen after using double tap to wake to check notifications.
Thanks
there is no way to do that i think, if you want normal double tab to sleep use poco launcher.
Xiaomi.eu rom has this option.
I think there is an option to double tap to sleep if you install Nova Launcher (prime) if you dont mind installing 3rd party launchers

How does a launcher affect the lockscreen?
I don't think it's available just yet. custom roms? yes, stock? not yet until a mod appears.
You can do this with Nova Launcher. Without root
I am using poco launcher, but there isn't that option. You can only lock screen from some page (tapping on blank spot) but in lock screen that doesn't work. Don't know about other launchers, I like poco and will stay on it for now.
Xiaomi.eu developer have that option for turn on screen and off on the lockscreen

I confirm
If you have root and exposed, the "custoMIUIzer" module can do this, and much more. I have it installed right now and it's great

Over wich rom you installed xposed?
Official one (miui global)
You need to:
-root device with magisk
-install the "riru core" and "riru EdXposed" magisk modules
-install EdXposed manager
-install "custoMIUIzer" module from EdXposed manager
I have set with buttons and gestured in the system settings the screen to turn off by long pressing the back button. This is more convenient than double tap to sleep
I'm using this app. Just a single tap to turn off the screen.
