I have an S4 running lollipop while I was using it it turned off and wouldn't turn on again . I wiped cache partition and it booted only once for a sort time period after that it turned off again . Now it boots only until the name logo then turns off immediately. Safe mode isn't working master resetting doesn't work either the phone can only boot into download mode and nothing more . Is there anyway to fix it? I haven't installed any apps lately it is running stock official without any mods to software whatsoever so I don't know what's causing it .
There are 3 possibilities:
1) You power button is defective
2) Your hardware is going hasta la bye-bye
3) Your software went to Neverland.
The solution for the 3rd options is to flash a ROM, be it custom or official.

Hello, for abou two months I have installed the JDC AOSP firmware on my phone. I encountered many faults and bugs on this rom, and the best of all was the sd corrupt and the last days wasn't even opening. When i touched the screen it was rebooting, so i decided to go back on officiak firmware. I installed two different official firmwares but still the problem remains. On the first touch it reboots. What could possibly go wrong? thank you
Maybe a power button issue?
Does the phone reboot by itself in download or recovery mode?

no it was by the little papers i have placed on sim card due to common problem on galaxy s4 "sim card removed". But now there is more important isue. The phone yesterday suddenly turned off and since then it doesn t boot on. It is stuck on galaxy logo and also it is not booting in rocovery mode. I have tried and installed via odin official firmware again it says pass, also today i have installed CWM but still none of these problems solved. Is there anything we can do?
What did you do after installing cwm? Factory reset?
I would use twrp as a custom recovery because cwm has not been updated for a long time.
Hi, I have a Galaxy S4 I9500 and I'm using GEAR CM13
The ROM was working fine until a while ago, but now suddenly there's a bootloop. Last thing I remember doing was accidentally holding the power button a bit long (while trying to lock the phone) so the power off/reboot menu came up and and then I tried to exit from it, but the menu didn't go away and the phone entered into a boot loop
Now, the Samsung i9500 logo just keeps flashing every 5 seconds. I'm unable to enter into recovery mode. I can enter download mode but it just exits out of that after 5 seconds and starts flashing i9500 logo again. I read about a hack to remove battery as soon as I enter download mode and it worked. It stays on download mode now. ODIN recognizes the device. What can I do using ODIN to fix the bootloop? Is there any ODIN flashable zip? I'm on the latest [20160711] build. I have important data in my device. Please help me recover it
I know I can reflash stock ROM and from there, reflash GearCM13 but I do not want to lose data as much as possible. I'm trying for fixes which do not wipe my data partition. I will go ahead with the standard method if I do not find a fix to recover from bootloop without losing data.
Hi,
I would suspect the power button first (probably stuck). Some hits to the power button using a solid, hard surface will help.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00A using XDA Labs
I have rooted my Moto G4 plus and I'm using TWRP to recovery but after changing my phone rom to Resurrection Rom and I rolled back to official room but I'm facing issue with power on and restarting my phone . When Eva I do it will boot to recovery mode in even if i restart also same problem I'm getting .so to boot normal i have to go bootloader and then I have take start option to boot my phone normally . Please let me know how to resolve this issue I need my phone to boot like normal rather than going automatically to recovery mode
My Galaxy S4 VE (GT-I9515) crashed. (the screen went black) It was not rooted and ran the latest Andoid 5.0.1 ROM.
When I turned it on, it went into a bootloop, randomly crashed during booting, or turned on normally. I removed sd and sim card and tried a different battery. Furthermore I tried to boot into recovery mode and wiped the system data and the cache. It did not help.
Sometimes it was not possible to get into recovery mode because the phone's screen went black and it rebooted.
Then I tried flashing multiple stock ROM files using Odin, but it did not solve the problem.
After that i tried rooting the device and installed a custom recovery (TWRP), but i still got random crashes during booting and sometimes it got stuck showing the samsung boot animation. The only things that work reliably are the Download Mode and the charging animation.
Now, what can I do to fix my phone?
I read a bit about flashing a .pit file but I don't think that will help?
Is this a hardware or a software issue?
How can I find out, what caused the problem?
I installed a theme using substratum and synergy and when I went to apply the theme on galaxy themes my phone suddenly showed the Samsung logo and turned off. Now it's not booting. When I press the power button the galaxy s8 logo comes up and next is the installing system updates then Android recovery comes up. I've also tried flashing the stock firmware using the home csc but it didn't solve the issue. Please help me to fix this issue and I don't want to erase the data inside.
I have the same issue. Phone start with installing update and boots to recovery. After a minute or two it hangs up their. I was able to factory reset but still it boots into recovery. Also flash firmware successfully via Odin, it does the normal boot but then hangs on erasing blue screen for the 1st time after Odin flash and upon force restart boots back to recovery. Mine is bootloader locked and full stock rom no modification. Looks me the motherboard issue.i may be wrong.
Hope anyone has work around to this problem.
Thanks

Try flashing substratum uninstaller through twrp recovery, if the above method didn't work try flashing with normal CSC not home CSC your data will wipe
