Hi I just bought and received my new S7 Edge. I bought it in the Netherlands. It has a sticker on the box saying European SIM Card Only. I have had almost all Galaxy versions and this is the first time it is mentioned on the box.
Does anybody know what it means? Can I for example flash the Russian rom and it wil work?
I also have an issue with the default Facebook app, When changing language not all parts of the app change, most stay in English. I have tried, Dutch, Greek and Russian. This is a system app so I cannot remove it (without root) and install the play store version.

N9100 just Eng, Kor, Simple Chinese only. How to change to Fully Support Multi-Lang? Can Odin CSC (N910u...) file?
Yes I have the unlocked version of this SM-N9100 and I cannot read Chinese and the Factory Mode (Download) is all in Chinese so I cannot install CF-Root but the device is rooted somehow and I need to get the Factory Mode in English if at all possible?
just FYI
I know you cant install the google play apps on these without rooting first, but I just found that you CAN install the Amazon App store then install another keyboard like SWYPE that supports multi languages...
SM-N9100
Hi guys,
I received my SM-N9100 today from ebay. When i booted, all was Chinese. Luckily i had a friends galaxy S5 as a visual reference to navigate through the settings and change the language to English. If it helps once in settings you are looking for a green icon near the bottom with an "A" in the middle, then the very top option showed me the languages where you can clearly see "English"
Just picking up on a previous post to make sure everyone is clear, There are 3 variations of the N9100 in china, you must make sure you purchase the international unlocked version. On mine it came preloaded with the play store, no need to root, and i am currently using 2 British sim cards (3 & EE) with no issues at all. No noticeable battery drain at this stage. Very happy with purchase.
I have G935K, stock unrooted, AT&T. I had Samsung Pay pre-installed and updated. When I am trying to add a card (Bank of America, Chase) it says the card is not yet supported, not letting me to even insert card details beyond first 8 card digits. When I look through supported card link provided in that message I see only Korean and some Chinese cards there. It forcefully installs Korean version (the picture inside of the app, events and announcements items under "more" menu are in Korean too. Samsung Pay doesn't let to choose English ...
Official Samsung pay says it supports US (BofA and Chase included).
BTW, when I start Samsung Pay for the first time (or after clear data) it says "insert a SIM card from the country your are in". Guess what, I am in the US with US AT&T SIM card in and everything is working fine besides Samsung Pay.
I tried to uninstall and install apk downloaded from apkmirror.com (app and framework) and in that case I got "unable to connect to the server" error, when I already added card details.
Any ideas what can I try or how can I forcefully install latest version in English? (the one on apkmirror, which gives server error is not the latest apk)

You can't load a US credit/debit card on a Korean model.. Korean models are only compatible with Korean cards and T-money / cashbee , Also the reason why it says please insert provider sim. Its because its asking you to insert an Olleh KT sim card, on Korean models Samsung pay actually does read the sim, and requires a Data connection on the same network to which the phone is branded. Even though Korean phones are carrier unlocked by law. When it comes to payment apps, Korea is very xenophobic and makes sure that know unknown foreigner can use their payment networks without proper korean identification. If you load a US version of samsung pay on a korean variant you will get a cannot connect to server error, because it is reading the country code of the device. I believe you would have to change the CSC, but it might brick your phone. Also it seems the US version of samsung pay uses samsung pay framework.apk whereas the korean one doesnt. I dont think youll be able to use samsung pay on a korean model unless u are korean and are using a korean issued card.

Thank you for such a thorough explanation. I am still looking for the information if it is possible to change CSC on Korean phone, but there is almost zero info available.
I am not sure if I can flash other country ROM for F model. From hardware prospective they (K and F) look identical, but I am still afraid to brick my phone

No othe models are the same as K, S, and L, Korean models all have a DMB antenna and have specially modified softwares to support that hardware, if you try to flash anything on a korean rom it will fail. Unless you modify a rom in such a way that it bypasses all of this. I ve seen once on here somewhere, it was a for a korean note 4 though if i remember. I dont recommend trying anything out without looking into it. You can maybe research the issue further by using Naver or Daum. Maybe some korean developpers have tried this out before. You might wanna use chrome google translate if you cant read korean while looking it up as these 2 are korean search engines.
I’m having the same problem with my SKT version. Good news is I heard that starting from Note 8, Samsung Pay would work without a Korea sim card

I've been able to by pass the pop in the past. but you still cant use an american card or canadian card on the korean samsung pay variant... korean samsung pay connects to their korean servers.. same for koreans here who got let's say a rogers note 8... they cant use their korean credit cards on canadian samsung pay.... but it seems on the canadian samsung pay any other cards works. ive been able to add american, canadian, thai, hongkong, uk, .... just not mainland china and korean cards. I would have liked to be able to upload my tmoney card on my canadian variant.... it seems im always stuck with 2 phones when going to korea..
Hi,
I bought an unlocked Galaxy S8 in USA for my dad who speaks only Polish. Turns out, the Polish language is only partially supported: after switching the language in Settings some icons are still displayed in English and system messages are not translated.
Is there an easy way to install a multinational ROM that has full Polish language support? I have been reading about using Odin with an official Samsung firmware, but am still unsure if I can use a CSC for a European version of S8 against the US S8 that I have, without triggering warnings and security violations.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Phone details:
AP: G950U1UEU2AQK2
CSC: G950U1OYM2AQK2
I've been wanting to do something like this too so I can get carrier wifi calling on my US S8, but after some extensive digging, it seems that if you try and flash a rom or csc for an exynos device on to a snapdragon phone it will end up being an expensive paperweight. perhaps you could somehow get hold of just a language pack, but I wouldn't know if that could be done, sorry. Just don't flash a G950F rom on a G950U/1 phone!
Hi All,
Please excuse me in case this was already adressed in other post.
Case: I bought in South Korea a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950N) Exynos version. Im very happy with the phone but there are a few diferences between this one and the spanish version of the phone. For example, since in Korea apparently is not legal to silence the shutter of the camera there is no option in the phone to remove this sound. Other things are for example the apps that by default are installed in the phone. In my case the carrier is KT and I have a ton of apps that I cannot use or Im not interested.
Questions:
Q1.- Is there a possibility to install the samsung stock rom for the S8 clean (from Spain for example) and get rid of all this crap and at the same time maintain all warranty and Updates as any other "not modified" phone?
Q2.- Will the software change once i insert the SIM car from my spanish carrier showing me option available in the S8 spanish software version that i cannot see now from the Korean version?
Q3.- can I use a baseband from any other carrier and if not is there compatible basebands with my phone?
any help will be much appreciated.
thanks in advance.

I have a Korean phone (g950N) and have done everything that you want to it EXCEPT my warranty is void. Initially, I rooted the phone and flashed a different stock ROM. Since then, I've flashed a custom ROM (Renovate-ice) as it gives me far more options and flexibility. During the installation, you can choose the country you want and it will add all the relevant software and frequencies etc.

AFAIK you will not get to the result you want, as long as you don't want to void your warranty (knox 0x1).
Flashing a g950F Firmware on a g950N device will lead to a not booting phone.

Also, no. Your CSC won't change when inserting a different SIM.
As to the third question, I can't answer.
But if you would be willing to void your warranty, you of course can change the csc to a spain one, get all the spain carrier bloatware and can deactivate the shutter sound.
voLTE ISSUE
I am facing a similar problem.
i bought a galaxy s8 (SM-G950n) from south korea. But here, in india, i can't use voLTE. i can use LTE and other band at ease except voLTE. Then googled and found that indian csc code installation may help. But the problem is that the phone i have is single sim and the indian model has dual sim. If i flash the indian stock rom will it brick? If it bricks i can't gp back to south korea to resolve that. i contacted the korean samsung service but their help didn't work.
Give me a strong solution.
Hello,
I have a Chinese Samsung Galaxy S8 SM-G9500. I want to use it in Europe. While it works with my European SIM card just fine, the phone itself has a ton of Chinese apps and other region specific features. What are my options for getting rid of all the Chinese stuff and getting Google play and all the Google services instead?
Can I simply flash some other S8 firmware from another region on it, or is this blocked by the device model?
If not, can someone recommend a noob guide for getting rid of all the default apps and Chinese features and replacing it all with EU stuff manually?
Thanks in advance.
just flash this
