Ok I hate calling it the taskbar because it probably has a certain name in Android, but what is this icon with two down arrows stacked on top of each other? When I tap on it nothing happens, I can't figure it out.
I think you're referring to fullscreen. Seems sometimes those double arrows appear when they don't do anything. Try restarting, and they should disappear.
Also, open up a pdf file or something you know where the program goes full screen, then try clicking the arrow. It should toggle the status bar and make it hide.
It's definitely quirky whether it works or not, but when in apps, it is supposed to hide the task bar. I've had limited success.
yes, that is what its for, to hide the status bar when fullscreen is apply. also make sure to assign a button to make the bar reappear. for me, i have map the home button to bring back the bar.

I've mapped the home button to bring back the bar too, works well.
I know most people prefer fullscreen browsing. However, I personally find it annoying that i have to swipe down to show the url bar every time I want to switch tabs in chrome. Is it possible to set the url bar to always visible? I checked chrome://flags but didnt find anything, is there any way to do this
Hi,
I want to use automatic hide status bar. Im using automatic hide navigation bar like this. How i can do automatic hide status bar and use my rooted s8 full screen
Systemui tuner in play store will do it. Immersive mode. I got it in full. You can also do it as on unrooted devices. I have Xposed with gravity box which suppose to do it but doesn't. This app I found does it on the s8 and nicely. Add seconds to the clock and turn off icons. Check it out. It is by zacharee1, the app.
Here is my home screen. The status bar comes and goes with the nav bar. I hated seeing the status bar.
It is looking very nice. I cant install magisk or xposed. I tried everything and open a post in xda. But i cant use it still. I will change my rom and try to flash magisk or xposed again

Hey, so whenever I would go full screen using Netflix or a web browser the nav bar and notification bar would disappear, but now just recently the nav bar is there contantly during full screen watching videos on my browser. Does anyone have any fix for this?
Getting the same issue, haven't tried netflix but on chrome and reddit they wont dissapear. Might be an update that messed with it.
You need to change dpi to 545 with adb. It is working for me. No status and navbar anymore.
Just like the title says I would like to hide the status bar by adb command. If anyone knows the command for it please post. The one for the 7pro doesn't work.

Figured I'd update this
I found somewhat of a solution. There's an app in the playstore called fullscreen mode tool with keyboard support. It's the only app that enables the immersive status bar where the keyboard won't cut into the input box. The only catch is when bringing up the keyboard the input box does a slight jump. To me this is better than burn in from status bar icons. My 8 pro has had the image retention issue with the status bar and I don't want it to lead to burn in which is why I'm going through all this trouble. Hopefully OnePlus can push an update with burn in protection built into oos cause as far as I know there is none.
Hey there, did you get this to work on a Oneplus 8? I just got one and have been trying a few different methods but my status bar persists.

If you want to prevent burn in by removing the status bar icons then just turn off all the toggles under status bar menu within settings. It's called icon manager.
Wouldn't immersive mode remove the status bar?

Where is it ?
I tried system ui tuner it didn't work surprise surprise. Then I ended up just ( thank God that option is made available stock ) going into settings and turning off each status bar icon , so now there's nothing there.

Immersive is broken on 11 for OP8 series devices. I've done some digging and they do something weird in the systemui and it persists the statusbar.
Nova launcher canhid it on home screenonly.
