Hello,
i'm a little bit confused, but my ZTE Axon 7 does not show the menu Button.
I've only Telefon, SMS, Browser and Camera
It looks like this:
I'm missing the button with the 6 dots in the middle like it is shown on the first shot on the ZTE page.
I'm not new to android but new to android 6 and Axon7
How can i add it?
Regards
sonypsx
I believe if you switch themes it will show. ZTEs launcher does not have an app drawer.
Thanks for your reply, but even if i change the theme for example from "Platinum" to "Classic 4.0" (they are all built in themes) an app drawer Button or menu does not appear.
Even the the control buttons as shown on the preview (triangle, circle, square and the 3 dots are not appearing.
I was addicted to that menu button all the time as long as i used samsung mobiles - and i miss this thing badly.
It seems to be there are some differences between ZTE A2017U and ZTE A2017G version (the version with the "G" is mine)
I would be glad if anyone could point them out .

sonypsx
There is NO app drawer with ZTE launcher (MiFavor) , I'm using the A2017U and i use Nova Launcher

on the USA versions there is no classic 4.0 or Platinum themes. I'm guessing you have the chinese one? If you pull down the notification shade on the top right hand corner theres a gear that will take you to settings. Is that what you mean?

There is an app drawer on the usa version of the axon 7 with the stock android theme. But the miflavor theme does not have an app drawer.
Thanks too all.
Nova Launcher and everything is in place like it should.
However i'm still very curious which exact Version is the ZTE A2017G - chinese or EU version - would be very important for me because of the supported LT Bands! especially the 20!
MAybe someone has an answer on this!

Um... so here's the proper solution to this question. If you open settings, there is a menu entry that lets you set the default apps for certain features. The phone comes with MiFavor, or Stock Android as options. If you select Stock Android the menu button will come back.
Not on the chinese phone...
So .. right - there is in fact an entry which is called "Overview" if i reset this i have the option between "Overview" and "Nova Launcher" - if i choose "Overview" again - no Apps drawer
Going back to Nova - everything is fine!
I've contacted ZTE China and start asking questions which exact version i have.
If its the chinese version - the shop which offered me this as the EU version will get troubles!
If anyone can give me a hint how to find out the supported LTE Band by some code - i would be happy!

The Chinese version has chinese letters and modelnunber ZTEA2017 on its back, the US ZTEA2017U so I guess ZTEA2017G should be EU version...
But to be sure check the about section in the settings also
The ZTEA2017G is the version sold in Australia, it is the newer version that handles more of the LTE bands.
You need this version to use LTE band 28 (700Mhz) or 4GX as Telstra call it.
If I had know they removed the app draw and no option to choose a stock android theme I would have chosen a different phone, after syncing my phone it managed to create 19 desktops full of icons.

Hey mates,
i have this friend (he's the typical iDork) who keeps annoying me with comments about how ugly he finds my homescreens...
i used to have only one scene (The Sense HD remix scene in minimal grey).
now i'd like to install launcher pro and make it look awesome, custom icons, everything designed as minimal as it gets.
only problem, every time i hit "home" my beloved desire asks me what homescreen it should return to. i know i can make it remember one of the two, but if i want to change then, i'd have to work through the settings and options...
so, here's my request:
a SIMPLE, SEXY WIDGET, that can instantly change the launcher assigned to the home button. i think it's not much work to do, if the API allows apps to change settings (not sure about that).
I'm a C++ programmer with zero experience in java, so i can't do it myself.
finally, i'd like to know how i can mod the launcher pro in the ways seen around on this forum (e.g. Mnml Icons as buttons etc.)
Thanks for your time,
Max
PS: does anyone know a widget for email/sms with a minimal style, such as Cal Widget with transparent background.
Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > LauncherPro > Clear Defaults.
Do you need a widget for that? ..
this isn't my point
i want to be able to switch between two launchers FAST, so i have, let's say a private and a business launcher, one designed for usability, and the other for style.
i don't want to reassign the home button everytime i want to switch, thats why i wnat a widget, or a shortcut, which i just touch once.
but since it seems like i'm the only person here switching frequently between launchers, i guess i'll have to code something myself.
anyway, thx for your time.
Oh.
Not a bad idea.
Good luck.

HomeSwitcher.
Works from 1.5 - 2.1, I think.
Certainly doesn't support 2.2

No,not home switcher. It was called easy switcher or something like that, can't say for sure. It supported widgets for quick switching also. I found several with similar function Launcher switcher/Home manager/, don't know if this one has widgets.
thanks mates,
homeswitcher does indeed not support android 2.2.
anyway, i found "Launcher Switcher" BUT:
- doesn't provide a widget
- sends me to the android settings screen, when i want to re-bind the home button
so, i stiiiiiiiiill haven't fouuuuuuuuund, what i'm looking foooooor....
Cleardefaulthome
It takes you straight to the current launcher info page where you press clear defaults, then press home and select the one you want. Its the best option atm.

i am running dj_steves 1.5.1 and i was wondering about the following:
Is it possible:
to have the old feature from 1.6 when you press on the battery icon it gives you several toggles?
to get rid of the dropdown status bar (it is really annoying)
not make the icons adjust to the "snap" placement on the screen?
also is it possible to add more icons to the screen than the standard?

The answer for the first question (Black bar across top with drop down bar) is no. The framework has been changed in froyo so without the source code for dell's homescreen UI in 1.6 and 2.1, it can't be ported.
To add more icons to the screen, you're gonna have to use a different home screen launcher. With Dj_Steve's StreakDroid, ADW.Launcher and Launcher Pro are pre-installed.
I use ADW.Launcher and highly recommend it, you just need 30-45 min to sit down and go through all the settings to get it to how you want it.
To switch your default home screen, easiest way is to download "Home Switcher for Froyo" from the market.
Welcome to the forum, a few hints.
Rather than posting another post to follow up on your previous one (if no one has replied yet) please use the edit button.
2nd your question has been asked many times here in XDA and a handful of other forums, so please in the future, search with several keywords before you post.
Good Luck and feel free to ask more questions if you can't find the answer to them.
Thank you so much!
I wonder if someone can help me replace the recent apps menu button for the settings button (3 dot menu) like how it is done on the one X, also is there a way to remove the widgets section on the app drawer.
Thanks and please .

Well, you can always try out a different launcher. The closest I can think of that mimics stock the best is Nova Launcher and it can remove the Widgets menu (I forgot if you have to pay for the Prime version to do this.)

Oh so theres no mods currently available to do this, id rather not flash a new rom i do like what i have atm .
Hello everyone, i recently installed BlissPop ROM on my D-802.
I was wondering:
1) Can i remove the "Get now cards" ?
2) Can i use smaller icons like the others on bottom tray ?
Image URL: s21.postimg.org/anycthrp3/Screenshot_2015_10_29_11_44_34.png
Futhermore, were could i find stock apps like Dialer and Contacts ? Most of them listed on "G2 THEMES AND APPS" have broken links.
Hi,
1. I'm assuming that's a widget, if so, you can just long-press it and throw it to the "Remove" / "Delete" option that pops up.
2. If you're using Nova launcher, witch I guess you're using, you can go to Nova settings--> Desktop--> Icon layout and from there you can adjust the size of the icons in the desktop.
Edit: Oh and about the stock apps, here's a link to some stock lollipop apps
http://www.idroidspace.com/download-android-5-lollipop-stock-apps/
Nearly all the stock lollipop apps are there, however if you want the messenger app then just search for it at the play store, Google already published it there.
But if you meant stock LG apps, then I don't believe there is a way to use stock LG apps in an Aosp ROM such as Cyanogenmod/blisspop/AICP etc...
Have fun!

Thank for your reply!
1) This is not a widget. That's why i am asking if there any way to remove it.
2) I am using the launcher which come with BlissPop ROM. Should i use Nova instead ?
I was searching for stock LG Contacts and Dialer apps because i prefer them than Google's.
I prefer LG apps over the stock as well, but sadly, I did not manage to make them work in the BlissPop ROM.
And I recommend you to use a different launcher, as he said, Nova would suffice. But I personally preffer Apex Launcher, it just fits my style a bit more. Any of these two should be able to handle your situation anyway.

Yes, use Nova or Apex or whatever launcher you want, I prefer Nova. I've used so many launcher in the past but nothing could beat Nova IMO.
Even though I'm recommending Nova, witch will, by using it, remove that ugly "Get now cards" thingy, I'm gonna have to ask you to tell me what happens when you long press that thing? Does it say anything? Does it let you view "app info" or let you know what app that is?
And for the stock apps, I searched and tried some but none worked (as expected). That's why some people choose to stay with stock systems because of these apps. Personally I've gotten over that ;D

You can set up task manager in your status bar, it should be in the blisspop settings, under status bar OR under the quick settings menu.
It will add a buttom for the task manager to your quick settings, see for yourself

A screenshot or something ? I can not find this option :/
Sure, Settings - Bliss interface - Notification drawer - Task manager.
When you turn that on, an icon will appear in your quicksettings (when you slide down notification bar completely, it will be next to the settings shortcut and battery shortcut).

You are awesome man! Thank you very much!
I do not like Wear OS app drawer, because in time it grows longer(larger!) and longer, and it gets harder to find an app.
I was looking for a way to have fast access to apps that are used on a regular basis. I came with a simple idea that led to Wear Favorite Apps Launcher.
With this app, you can define two grid sizes of 1x1 or 1x2, ... 3x3 and select your favorite apps. Then you can assign each page (grid) to one of the hardware buttons: 1) long press on the power button, 2) press on the secondary button.
The apps TODOs/limitations are:
1. Supporting any number of physical buttons (more of a UI/UX issue)
2. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks. I think the UI in the current form is a little complicated. Do you agree?
I am ok with the UI...you are doing a very good job. Only it would be interesting can access between long press apps luncher and custom apps launcher more quickly throught double tap or another shortcut...
Anyway, the app is already very useful.
Thanks again.
What method do you use to switch from one launcher to another?
You can press the secondary button anytime to switch to the custom launcher.

Yes, but i mean a touch shortcut, although i am very happy witch the app at the moment.
Greetings.
In version 2.0, I've added a 3x3 tile to give faster access to some apps.
I've updated the app to be compatible with the new wear os version and tile support.
