I cant use my edge as the screen is broken so I want to try to flash some ROM that makes it possible to control the phone using ADB or similar. Are there any ROMs that can be flashed using odin and where you do not need to use the touch-screen before/after to be able to control the phone using ADB or similar?

Hi there,
usually I don't want to bother with stupid questions, but after googleling for around 1 hour without any solution I simply need your help...
I tried to upgrade my rom (miui), but the device freezes at bootscreen. Since I already had this problem with another update, I know what to do:
Go to download mode, connect your phone to the computer (in my case Linux only), use heimdall to reflash kernel.
That is working fine, but nevertheless the screen stays black after the boot screen (sgs 2 with yellow triangle). I flashed with several kernels (cf root kernels) so that I can go into recovery but no chance...
Since I have linux only I can only use heimdall. Right now i am downloading a full rom, but how do i install an entire rom with heimdall?
Any other solutions would be of course appreciated. Please help...
Thanks a lot in advance!
flash a 3 tar stock rom
then flash anything u want (ie miui etc)
Hello everybody,
i´m new here and have a great problem on my Galaxy S I9000.
I hat Android 2.2 installed on that device and wanted to install Cyanogenmod by this guide (cant post links)
The Problem i had was i couldn´t get into the downloadmode or recoverymode (Volume up/down, home and Power button)
So i made it with the Android SDK (adb reboot download) to get into the downloadmode.
Once I was there i made the part with the heimdall flash --kernel zImage.
In the end it said the Installation was succesfully and rebootet the Phone. Now it always reboots and only shows the "Samsung Galaxy S I9000" screen and then restarts.
Notice, i didnt do anything else instead the things above (no rootet phone, no flash or something like this). I also had problems installing Android 2.3 with Kies on this device so i tried it with 2.2.
Is there a chance for me to get the phone back to stock? If i connect the USB to the PC it sounds like it detected the device, but then it restarts.
If i only stick in the USB cable to the PC without booting the device a round loading screen apears but stock.
Odin also dont show up anything. Is there anything i can do? Thank you.

For USB Connection issues try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27205737&postcount=4571
For recovery try to Flash Rescue kit for i9000 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29331775&postcount=1
Sounds like you flashed kernel only, so the proper system is missing.
Try to get into download mode again, and flash a complete ROM (kernel, phone, csc, database, pit512, repartition...) using Heimdal or Odin. Search sammobile.com or the forum to get the ROM/version you need/want (if stock is your choice, use the 3-files-firmware).
If you want to install CyanogenMod, you'll need to get into recovery mode and install the CyanogenMod.zip from here.

I have a weird problem after following server guides. I got to this point where I have no recovery or download mode but it the phone starts. the killer is that the touch screen doesn't function properly anymore as in I touch the top the bottom gets selected. I got the phone of eBay with ragoblade flex on it and when trying to get to stock it went to fast boot then from there I'm now in my current situation. I have access to adb debugging and that's about it. is there anything I can do?

I've got the same problem. Have you solved it?
LG starts but the screen doesn't work properly, so I can't get into develope mode. I can get into download mode, but trying flash stock ROM using flash tool doesn't work. The recovery mode doesn't work properly too.
I am facing the same issue with my phone
let me know if you've solved this problem

Hello XDA,
I stupidly put my G2 in bootloop. It is 802, 20h, stock rom/recovery and rooted with ioroot.
I managed to break it by removing the LGweather.apk and LGslideaside.apk from system app because I was tired of seeing them taking memory for no reason. After a reboot, it is blocked at LG logo.
I have made a nandroid backup some time ago through an app so I have those APK on my computer, I just need to put them back with adb.
I can get it to download mode (picture here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58181792&postcount=4), but I can't get adb to detect the device although I tried many drivers.
My question are: Am I losing my time by trying to have adb work or it is a driver problem and it will eventually be able to push the file if I can have the phone recognised by adb?
Should I try the hard reset offered through the keys combination? I am very much afraid it would make it worse as I changed many things in the phone through xposed.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.
Flash the SAME rom via lg flash tool (choose normal mode because it doesn't touch your files)

Well I would have prefered not to, but as I couldn't get adb to work and the hard reset only brought me back LG sound when bootlooping, I had to.
It worked wonderfully, thanks. I have to try to get root back now (even if it shows as rooted in download mode).
The rooted is more like cosmetic
Hi,
I recently broke the screen. Phone's display is working while the touch panel isnt. I was able to recover all the data via adb pull.
I want to use this device for computational purposes. Any suggestions for a ROM which is prerooted ?(i dont need a gui either).
Remember, if su via adb pops put a dialog box on the screen, i wont be able to accept it since touch isnt working.
Current rom : Stock 4.4.4 (rooted)
Recovery : twrp
Bootloader : unlocked
Much thanks.
You can use that phone from your computer like normal
