Good evening,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910c. I just bought a license kaspersky internet security multi device. At first everything works except that the last two days, the system application "smart manager" installed on my phone detect my kaspersky internet security device as malware and recommend me to remove it.
I use a rom custmers erobot v8
Thank you to help me to solve this problem.
Sorry for my bad English.
Cordially.
never use more than 1 antivirus in 1 device.
by the way, if you installed kaspersky from play store, there is a good chance that its just a false alarm.

Nope..... Smart manager is an antivirus too.....
So if you activate your protection on smart manager, then the antivirus engine is active.
I have the same issue with Cerberus AND Kaspersky.

Hi,
Just a word of warning: Vitakey files are discovered as a trojan under the latest avast update. Do not quarantine files, or uninstall it. It's Avast antivirus fault. Just wait for a new virus definition.
never use avast as antivirus.....
antivir is the best free antivirus.
Avast is a good antivirus, and I will still recommend it even after this false positive.
I had this with Avast and Vitakey. It caused me a whole day of grief.
Glad to hear it was a false virus.

avast is too slow reacting on virus threats ... like the MSN virus which was detected A MONTH before solved by avast.... A month after antivir
Ok, but antivir is giving you annoying popups everyday. And I don't think you can compare a program because of one virus delay. Can you remove this popups?
I'm currently using Live One Care 2.5.. .but I have never been annoyed by the pop-up.. it tells me that antivir is updating which is not bad.
hi guys i got the kaspersky mobile security is it compatible with the htc desire hd?

Can you tell me why? Is there any risk of viruses that you know?
There is only one known virus for Android, it's a media player that sends premium rate SMS's. I don't know what it's called but I'm not worried about viruses on my phone that's for sure.
And I'm pretty sure this "Media Player" is not available on the market. So when you tick the option to allow the installation non market apps, think about what your actually installing. And why its not on the market.
Hey its bout viruses its just i got a licence of the mobile security so i was thinking of using it.but i have no clue how to install in on it. thats all

Have a Google, but I'd still have reservations about installing it. You'll never need it and it'll sit in the background, no doubt eating all of your battery.
Android is built upon Linux, and as most people know, Linux has almost no viruses. Only the user can run malicious code, and will need to run as root.
Your more at risk from malicious apps than you are from viruses. If you check what permissions an app asks for when installing it you can avoid potential upsets.
E.g. Why does this media player want to use services that cost me money?
Hi,
When i used firefox this morning, avast warned me about a malware... I removed and installed again firefox, but there is still the malware. After a scan, avast is showing me about 20 apps and files infected... Is it some kind of false positive, or is it a real malware ? I don't know what to do... Thanks for help

If it was me I'd flash the entire phone then re install stock firmware, but all my stuff is backed up I don't know about yours??

I have the same issue as of this morning, Avast reporting Android:FakeInst-EY [Trj] on 10 installed apps. Is it possible it's an avast issue?

Its avast problem. I'm on S3 and Avast just showed me 30 malwares "Android:FakeInst-EY"
Avast Blog has this post, I suppose this is related to this:
Block fake apps
avast! Free Mobile Security blocks fake apps and our new signature targeting protects you against
malware distributed with them. Our popular anti-virus/anti-theft app for Android stops downloads of fake apps and games, so you won’t be duped.
“All of these apps use multiple advert services, steal your personal data and they even are hidden under different creators. But don’t worry. Avast detects all of the mentioned applications as Android:FakeInst-DL, and urls of fake searchers are blocked also,” said Chytrý.

Having the same issue. Avast posting that gmail is a trojan, which seems unlikely.
Looks like avast is really messing this one up this time!
Getting Android:FakeInst-EY [Trj] on WhatsApp, Ingress, Norton Utilities (lol), + a couple others as well
Thanks for confirming my suspicions, I didn't really want to wipe my device
Just to add, this happened to me this morning as well. 8 apps infected including Gmail. It seems this is on Avast.
Thanks everyone ! I have it on gmail too, and on Ingress. I checked with Lookout, and nothing bad happened ! Avast, u suck...

It's look like an avast! problem. You need refresh the virus definition to 20130321-01.
Info on: forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=118778.0
It's a problem with Avast virus signature DB

Hi everyone,
it seems that this false positive detection somehow got through our systems to everyone. I'm sorry for that. Don't worry though, there should be a virus definitions update soon that will remove this detection. I'm going to reroute all topics to this one and lock them so everyone knows what's happening. I'll post here when the update is out so everyone can do a manual update of their definitions to fix this (or you can, of course, wait for the automatic update to happen, but manual will most probably be faster in this case).

Happening to myself and my wife. Same malware identified in multiple applications (Google Gmail, Amazon Kindle)
Yup, same here. Avast reporting Gmail & Firefox as malware.
Same issue. Whatsapp and avocado are reported. Seems something wrong with avast. Considering to uninstall it

From the avast forum link:
"the latest update should be version 130320-01. In case of user apps, you can run apps scan which should clear the detections. In case of system apps, running the apps should clear the detections (that applies for user apps as well, but it should be faster to just run the apps scan)."
I just went into avast and updated the app to 130320-01. It took a few times hitting the update button before it actually updated avast, but it finally did. Afterwards, I ran a virus scan on all my apps, and it came back clean. Problem solved.

The thing I find curious is I updated Gmail on both my phone & tablet at the same time. Phone update went fine with no detection. Tablet popped up the FakeInst:EY detection during Gmail install so thought maybe definition file wasn't up to date (or EVO3D had a newer def file). But both devices are running v130321-01 which is supposed to have the fix (?).
Rescanning both devices, EVO3D comes up clean but tablet now detects 4 apps w/malware! Have tried updating but says this is the latest version out there. As said, will wait for the next update after 130321-01 and see if it clears. Just odd that have two devices with same versions of Gmail & Avast (and updates/defs) and two different results!
Update: No new updates to avast, but reran scans a second time on both a second time 5 minutes later and this time both came up clean. How can that be? I guess most importantly, both are clear again though worries me when one "detects" (even w/false positive) while other doesn't with what appears to be same environment!
I got the same warning today for a few apps, i had already deleted Firefox....
I just updated Avast as said in this treat and no warnings anymore Time to reinstall Firefox

Trojan.Generic in Nexus 4 toolkit ??
this morning trying to run Nexus 4 toolkit, it also reported "Trojan.Generic", and then stopped, even add it to trust file, still will not run, What's wrong.
About a month ago I randomly got a Final Fantasy app and a flashlight app installed. The only apps I installed that weren't from the play store were Amazon underground, the official pornhub app (for kicks), and a PSX emulator from a 3rd party website (would cost money in Play Store). That PSX emulator is what I suspect. I didn't like the UI and uninstalled it a week ago, yet today I see the same Final Fantasy and flashlight app installed again. I fear some type of trojan adware is stuck on my phone. How would I see what is installing these apps?
edit: it also installed a Solitaire app I forgot to mention
Try malwarebytes in the play store. Their PC version is solid. I have kaspersky for my android devices and it is very good. Gotta pay though! Third party sites won't work ; )
Ive heard of this before... I can't remember the name of the app doing it but some service providers include this somewhat hidden app that installs apps like this. The other case even included Final Fantasy. Look in the Apps settings panel (include system apps) and look for anything sketchy. I wish I could remember the name of it!

People make fun of antivirus apps. Saying they don't work and blah blah blah. I side load apps alot and I mean alot of apps. I use an antivirus for the anti theft and malware and I suggest you get avg ASAP if you plan on side loading apps. But that's in my opinion.
BTW can you share the pornhub app, I would like it for research purposes ?
You have Verizon to thank for this.
The app is called DT Ignite. Its crapware that installs apps when your phone sets up or randomly. Its a system app so make sure its the first thing you freeze.
I did notice that when I set up my phone recently when it updated it changed the name to "Mobile Services Manager" or something similar.

Thanks! I bought my phone off eBay unlocked from U.S. Cellular to use on Verizon, and I didn't think that'd be the culprit given the network change. I've disabled the app now.

Ugh, same thing just happened to me. "Mobile Services Manager" was the culprit
A TitaniumBackup freeze on that trojan VZW app should do the trick and prevent further assaults.

Hi Xda !
I will receive my op6t on tuesday.
I already like the phone for his specs, and the os seems to be near to a pure os (light and fast).
The only thing is irritating me is all the apps you can't uninstall as the google suit (duo, chrome, youtube and so on).
What is the best solution to remove or completly disable those apps ? (i mean uninstall or at least disable apps icon/hidde it from the app list)
If root is the only one solution which method is the most simple one ? and the less risky from brick ?
Last one, after doing this am i able to do roms updates from official source without any problem ?
I'm under linux (debian) or can have a mac but no windows
Thanks for your time and answers.
You can simply disable the apps with no problem (no root required), and you will still receive updates.

I used to have an honor 9 where you were not able to disable some apps like chrome
You can disable but not uninstall without root.

Does apps keep access to data, contacts, GPS... whatever they are allowed to do after being disabled ?

You should be able to disable most apps without any issue. I've disabled Google Play Music, Movies and Gmail without any problems.
I think disabling is not only safer than uninstalling, but easier as as well!
