Can I pair a XXUGBPB1 modem with a XXUGBPB2 boot loader? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There is no modem software here:
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/firmware/hlte_SM-N9005XX/N9005XXUGBPB2/
But I found modem here:
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/firmware/hlte_SM-N9005XX/N9005XXUGBPB1/
Is it OK if I flash this modem? I suppose I have to use the "CP" button in Odin, right?

Recommended BL: XXUGBPD3
Recommended Baseband/Modem: XXUGBPD1
Both should be available on idlekernel repository.
RE Flashing: You can install via Odin, make sure you download .tar format. You can also install via TWRP on latter versions (3+ I think) TWRP you will need to flash using the .zip or .img formats for that option.

Yep, the name tells the button it requires. Go ahead and install.

Hey there jordanpa and thanks for answering. I can't find any "BPD" there. Are you sure that's what you meant?

Kies problem after custom rom, Solved.

After some problems to get Kies to recognize my SGT7 rom after custom rom tour i solved it like this.
Get the software CheckFusDownloader v2.1
Download at fus.nanzen.se
Open and choose: android, GT-P1000 and your region.
Then press firmware check and download.
You'll get a zip file, unpack the .zip and put the .tar file in a easy to remember place.
Flash the Restock Package from TeamOvercome (use odin v1.7 supplied in the .zip)
Download at teamovercome.net/
(Use Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time)
Then do factory reset/wipe in recovery mode. (Power + Volume up at boot)
Then flash the .tar file you downloaded with CheckFusDownloader v2.1
NO re-partition, just klick PDA and choose the downloaded .tar file, and flash.
Then again factory reset/wipe.
Then flash the Restock Package again with and factory reset/wipe at boot
After that Kies recognise my SGT7 as original Samsung rom.
Can somebody tell me if there is a easier way?
I hex edited /efs/nv_data.bin, and flashed a Froyo ROM which included the CSC with the right country code. Kies recognised my Tab straight away and updated it to GB 2.3.6 successfully. See my more detailed post in the other thread (help me i have only 2 weeks left on my garanti!).
I'm not sure it's an easier way though.

AryaMod ROM help

Hello, want to download this ROM, but I'm a bit confused because I always flash the new roms manually using a cwm recovery only. I'm not an expert in these tar md5 files.. Anyways im running a stock lollipop N9005XXUENC2 and my question is can I flash AryaMod using the cwm only and without downloading the 2 tar files the developer mentioned in the main thread? If not, can you tell me exactly what I should do using Odin? Thanks..
here you go!

the thing is,
1. Make all necessary backups, install ODIN and Samsung drivers in PC, also download the necessary files (BL, CP and ROM).
2. remove battery and insert after 10 secs.
3. Directly boot into Download Mode via key combo (after getting into Download Mode, Open ODIN and also connect phone to PC).
[download both files, select "BL tar file" in BL and "CP tar file" in CP in ODIN]
4. Flash the BL and CP from OP via ODIN (after selecting two files, click Start, it will automatically restart and it will show Success)
5. Now after the phone is ON (Success message), disconnect from PC and enter Recovery Mode and flash ROM.zip
6. Select your Options in Aroma and enjoy.
The Dev recommended to use TWRP and also I had TWRP from start. You can check in the ROM thread whether anyone is doing this via CWM.
Good luck.

How to update: Bootloader, PDA, CSC, Baseband

Hi,
i am trying to fix software on my note3 but i have problems finding the right files.
There is Bootloader, PDA, CSC and Baseband but i don't know how to upgrade it to the correct versions.
For example i found Version OK9 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/direct-download-bootloaders-modems-t3258803
But there is no file to update PDA, CSC and Baseband?
I installed the KERNEL file and it changed the Kernel. Did not try RECOVERY yet because i think it could overwrite the Custom Recovery TWRP that is installed now.
In older post i also found some "CP" files for OJ6 and OK6 and they installed new version for PDA but i can not find them for OK9?
Can anybody please explain the different files and how to find the right versions?
I downloaded two files to update bootloader and PDA to OK6 but i can only update the Bootloader but PDA Version does not change.
CP_N9005_OK6.tar.md5
BL_N9005_OK6.tar.md5
The first file is supposed to update the PDA or not?
CP is modem/baseband and it does not update PDA. AP is PDA. You can find complete firmwares from http://www.sammobile.com/. These packages contains all parts together and you can find installation instructions for example from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdDgaqsYrRs.

Ah i see, thx for your help!
Hm so maybe it could be a good idea to install a untouched Stock Rom first and then go to modified image?
I have now installed N9005XXUGBOK6_N9005DBTGBOI1_DBT Stock Image with Odin.
When i want to go back to this image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-lp-tw-rom-t3027148 is it enought to just install it or do i need to wipe anything before?
I don't want all the samsung adware...
Oh it even killed the philz touch recovery...

[SM-G935F] Odin won't flash my s7 edge?

Hello!
I'm trying to install a rom which requires me to update/flash my Bootloader & Modem to the MM ones. Now I'm running into a problem where Odin will freeze at certain parts and after a while it fails writing the file .
I've tried odin v3.10 & v3.12, I've tried different USB- cables & ports and I've enabled USB Debugging and OEM Unlock in my developer options. Any other possible suggestions :fingers-crossed:?
Thanks in advance.
I managed a glimpse of the zip file you downloaded from the ROM thread.
1. BL_G935FXXU1BPJG.tar.md5
2. CP_G935FXXU1BPJG.tar.md5
You're using Odin3 v3.12, and it's clearly stated md5 format is an old model of updating home binary. New versions will only accept .tar files. This would explain the write errors you're getting.
Updating of bootloader and modem require .tar files to be flashed using the BL and CP slots respectively. I suspect you would only need to rename the files to .tar for them to work, but pls clarify with the ROM developer.

How do I re-lock the bootloader of this device?

If I wanted a fresh system and a re-locked bootloader, how do I do it?

imho easiest way is flashing stock ROM via Odin or Heimdall.
Done it (with Odin) several times on different devices.
Get stock ROM using samfirm_reborn
It loads firmwares directly from Samsungs servers if they are stored there.
(not for all available).
Fill in device name and region (look them up here: https://samfrew.com/)
Check "binary nature" and "decryption".
Results in one zip file to extract the files for Odin of which you should use latest.

Alright! I also found you could go into download Mode when the bootloader is unlocked, long-press to access Device unlock, then press Volume Up (I think) to re-lock the bootloader.

may be, but I don't own the device.
And as you wrote "fresh system" I thought it's safer my way than re-locking plus a factory reset which may leave traces of your data.

May I ask a bit more info here? I want to do something similar: flash stock ROM via Heimdall and relock bootloader. So, I am thinking of downloading a zip from here:
https://samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__Tab__S6__Lite__-Wi-Fi-__/mn97/BTU/P610XXU2FWA5/P610OXM2FWA5/
and then try to flash it using Heimdall. Will this work? What command should I use (Linux user). I have only flashed lineage recovery through Heimdall, so I am not all that sure. Or could I just flash the whole zip through lineahe recovery and be done with it?
Also, to make sure: flashing the stock rom will automatically lock the bootloader? Do I not have to do anything else? I should at least format data, etc, right?

Flashing a stock ROM via Heimdall works, BUT you will flash stock recovery aa well so your thought at the end (flash with custom recovery) will not work.

Gotta have a look at the file.
If it doesn't consist of several tar.md5 files it's no use as you have to open them to extract needed files for Heimdall (needs more than Odin).

Heimdall on Linux has a GUI frontend you just have to open via terminal.

Using Odin yes. Heimdall I never used/tested for that.

No. Flashing stock replaces all.
Try if you get Odin to run on Wine.
Makes it a lot easier imo.

There are four files with names:
AP_P610XXU2FWA5_QB61306304_REV00_user_low_ship_meta_OS13.tar.md5
BL_P610XXU2FWA5_QB61306304_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
CSC_OXM_P610OXM2FWA5_QB61306304_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_OXM_P610OXM2FWA5_QB61306304_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Are these what they are supposed to be? And what does one do - flash all four one by one?
@coxackie So that is a multiple part stock ROM file. That's good.
In Odin only AP, BL and CSC needed to make a clean return to stock.
For Heimdall afaik you gotta extract certain files from these (tar.md5 are just archive files).
Which ones to extract? Idk.
Never did myself as I only flashed TWRP as said above.
Google will be your savier.
