So today Google released new images for this month. Still with the MMB and MOB builds.

Encryptable boot image for MOB30W:

I never had this problem before, but I have downloaded the images and OTA zip files twice and both files fail the MD5 check. Is anyone else seeing this?
If not, maybe I need to update my MD5 checker. Any ideas or suggestions?
EDIT: Never mind, apparently they have switched to a SHA-256 Checksum, so a new checker verified that they are okay.
I see two versions:
MOB30R
MOB30W
I am going to install W, but I am curious what is R (carrier specific)?

It's MMB30R and from what I remember, the MMB versions are for specific carriers, Fi maybe?!?

From what I've read on previous posts about the 2 images, is that MMB has the old radio where as MOB has the new radio! Reason being that not all carriers have approved the new radio yet, so Google made 2 images. Since we are just flashing them and don't give a flying.....(can I say that here?) About carrier approval, just flash the MOB builds, they're newer!

They changed the type of hash? Thanks for telling me! Good info here, I would freak too! Lol
ALSO! Might as well say it here rather than making a third post in a row. How many of you guys think Android N is coming this month? I'm hopeful to see it! I'm running dev preview 5 and loving it!

I'm loving it as well but I hope they'll improve battery life because this is the only thing that keeps me away from DP5. Gonna flash August update and then see how N goes.

Oh yea! Preview 4 had absolutely SUPERB battery life, preview 5 was a bit dodgy for sure. I'm staying with preview 5 because my phone no longer hangs with my wifi network. I started hanging before loading things for a solid like, 10 seconds or more and it was drive me insane! That started with 6.0 marshmallow, that issue is gone for me in N, so that's the only thing keeping me on the new preview. I agree, battery life isn't great with it.
I think the official android Nougat arrives in four days...August 5.

Unlikely to release anything on a Friday. The 5th August date is likely just confusion around the Android Security Patch Level '2016-08-05' which all supported Nexus devices got today (or will shortly).

I'm experiencing the same wifi issues and was wondering if this update with the new radio would make a difference. Apparently not
Looks like I too will be moving on to N preview if that's solved the MM wifi issues. Thanks

It seems much more responsive with N preview. The wifi issues are infuriating to say the least. I can't wait for the final build of 7.0 mostly for this reason! Hope the preview works better for you. Post here and let us know if it fixes your issue as well!
Can anyone who has installed the new images please check and report whether the security date is showing as 8/1 or 8/5?

Registered my device in the beta and installed the latest N preview via OTA update. From my initial use I can say the wifi is responding much better. Will test out further today when im jumping between work wifi/LTE/home wifi and see if its still smooth. But so far so good :good:

New update. I downloaded last night. It adds something called Fullscreen? Any one else got any news on what changed? Says security patch level is October 1, 2016. Was about 250MB
Trying to figure that out to. Cant find any Changlog for this
Turned on the advanced messaging again for me. I turned it off since it wasn't working properly. Maybe it's fixed now.

You know what? I'm not sure now. I could've sworn I read an article saying there was, now the only reference I find is for T-Mobile S7's getting a performance update.
I was on rooted stock PI2 and accidentally said OK to the OTA and it sent my phone into bootloop. Had to start from scratch.
Is the current root stable enough to use as a daily driver?

My phone came with the following:
Build: NMI42B test-keys
Hardware: 1.8
So far my phone thinks it's rooted and I have not received the camera update.
Any other Build numbers/hardware the same?
Has anyone received the camera update with HDR or am I not receiving updates because of the test-keys build?
NMI54B was the update I got immediately.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet but the new OTA is available. It comes with new color options for the screen (boosted, natural and saturated) and has the 'auto-dim' nav bar. Haven't noticed anything else new so far.
Tried to update nothing yet.

Update is out there. They did a ton of improvements to BT, screen and did add Natural, Boosted or Saturation mode for colors. Will post the pics firs then tell you which is which as I don't know which order they will upload. Not that it really matters as it will all likely look the same on your PC and your phone if you haven't gotten the update LMAO. Sorry!
EDIT: Uploaded natural >> boosted >> saturated. Will be impossible to tell on a PC monitor or phone that has yet to be updated, again apologies., thought I was being helpful! Haha

I will also point out that this is correct, it's a security patch update for November, not the 8.1 update. We may not see that before the end of 2017.
Why can't someone make themselves useful and share the ota zip? Lol

I suspect that rmewpm may have been referring to the 11-06 patch level, which the main security bulletin says it what fixes the KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability. The bulletin isn't exactly clear on whether this is fixed on the Pixel 2/2XL or not. The opening paragraph of the Nexus/Pixel bulletin says:
For Google devices, security patch levels of 2017-11-05 or later address all issues in this bulletin and all issues in the November 2017 Android Security Bulletin.

Later, in the questions and answers section, it says:
1. How do I determine if my device is updated to address these issues?
Security patch levels of 2017-11-05 or later address all issues associated with the 2017-11-05 security patch level and all previous patch levels.

Why Google had to have 3 patch levels instead of the already-strange 2 patch levels this month is anyone's guess. I'm not too impressed that they shipped the Pixel 2's with only the September patch. If they manage to ship the November update with some missing fixes for KRACK, I won't be surprised.

I have a Pixel 2 XL, I have the security patch update already installed on my phone. I am not referring to 8.1, if that is what you are referring to. See attached screenshot of my About Phone page confirming the security patch Nov 5.
I plan on buying the H8 now since it has a gotten a price cut recently. I noticed a few things browsing the forums here.
1. There is thread here in this forum about ways to save battery in the H8, how much is the actual SOT truthfully if someone would kindly tell, in a trickle usage, say 15 to 30 mins of gaming, an hour or 2 of watching YouTube, quite a few hours of music playback both stressing and local, and always on Wi-Fi, and also I'd want my notifications when they arrive but ALSO I DO NOT USE FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM OR SNAPCHAT. Just WhatsApp and Hangouts.
2. What is the screen getting dim issue ?
3. If I don't unlock the bootloader and root my device, I'll get all OTA's. Now, in a thread here only I was reading about updates being launched in a website about a week or two before OTA launch. The latest one being for the November patch with EMUI 5.0.1. How the hell did the updating system of the H8 work can anyone clarify.
4. And what is the requirement for rebranding the phone to 19 from 09 or 04.
I want to get this phone for its screen, and performance mainly. Can anyone also share if I should be aware of any other bugs or issues with this phone before making a final decision.
1) with what ur doing, probably around 5 hrs SOT, 5hrs 45 mins maybe if u tinker with the settings, I've gotten 6 hrs with 10 percent left before doing mostly YouTube and reddit.
2) no idea what that issue is, don't think I've ever had it
I don't really mess with my phone's so idk about 3 and 4.
So far i haven't ran into any big bugs. I've had this phone for a year and it's great, performance is really smooth. Maybe a hiccup here or there but they are few and it recovers pretty quick.

If you are on a budget and can't afford the Honor 9. Then why not.
Will probably not receive any further major updates. Security updates are currently available but I'm guessing not for much longer.
If you want a phone for the screen and performance (uncertain about which kind of) you can save some money and go for Moto G5s Plus. Faster graphics processing if you're gaming. Also potentially better software support and development (Oreo available).

Is that the Indian edition ??
If you pair your phones to a bluetooth enabled automobile, then I would not recommend the Honor 8. Nougat 7.0 has issues with several auto manufacturers, just google it. Google's 7.1.2 release was suppose to fix this issue, along with the Oreo update which adds in even more bluetooth codecs, thanks to Sony's help. Since we are stuck on 7.0 and no idea if the Honor 8 will ever see another update, I would avoid it unless you can find a friend with this phone and test pairing it to your auto before buying. It is not pairing to my 2013 Elantra.

Nobody can give you the right answer for that since there are few people who had issues and there are people who never had issues(I never had any issue, not on october, not on november and not on this update)
Google and gooogle assistant have general issue on all phones in recent updates of those apk-s(as you can see in users comments in google play), that's not the issue of mi a1 OS.

And, by the way, shouldn't we be getting the Oreo update by now?

I had december update, but i messed up my phone by installing twrp. So i reflashed everything, and now december is gone. lol,. its funnny actually. Now OTA gives me november only (which i won't install), so from december i'm back to October.
Only God knows when they will give me another chance to install December patch...

Because some users mess badly with their phones and don't say this. There is one example from today, read from this post:

Not true. I, and most people with issues, didn't mess with my phone at all and there's 2 big issues affecting many users here in my country: freezes and the slow internet, even in 4g (vodafone carrier users only, but not everyone, which is even stranger)
What??

Bugs...hardware issues..different network...different signal, user doing something the system..errors caused by using...it's a software, could be anything. Majority have no problems, but there are cases that do.
example:latest win10 1709 update is working fine on one machine and on the other it's cracking, on the third it's freezing, some apps are not working properly, pointer issues, somewhere there is a high cpu usage, random restarts..all that with the same hardware.
Even though most of users don't have issues, some report that their units are not working.

Manufacturers will usually not release an update for all devices at once. They usually start out at a very low percantage of devices (~1-5%) and wait for reports regarding any issues or failed updates. They then will increase the number of devices over the coming 1 to 2 weeks.
What you delete the google framework data you're esentially telling the google server that you're device has been factory reset which will usually cause you to receive any updates available but this might cause issues with system stability.
See this post from 2013:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...to-never-clear-google-service-framework-data/
conclusion: you can wipe your framework data if you want (i.e. we can't stop you), but you shouldn't. It is recommended to wait until your device is scheduled for the update.

I had december update, but i messed up my phone by installing twrp. So i reflashed everything, and now december is gone. lol,. its funnny actually. Now OTA gives me november only (which i won't install), so from december i'm back to October.
Only God knows when they will give me another chance to install December patch...

In fact it's possible to skip one or more months and update directly to the latest version. There is incremental OTA between two versions (e.g. November -> December), between several versions (e.g. October -> December) and full OTA (e.g. July -> December).

I can't download the updates
I get "couldn't download update" error every single time I try
I'm sure my network is ok and I've even tried many different vpns but that doesn't work neither
I live in Iran, maybe it has something to do with google restrictions against Iranian users
Removed truecaller and everything is fine

Even I had these problems after the November update and from Memory management I found that Truecaller is using more memory. I've uninstalled it and everything started working fine and smooth
