Failed to mount /cache
My phone had 3rd party app crash. Like whats app. I got messages like
Google app stopped working.
Then after reboot of phone, it stuck on boot screen.
In my case
The access permission to folder /cache is revoked by system to avoid further data loss due to crash of OS.
drwxrwx--- system cache 2016-10-22 21:57 cache
I am currently on UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.21.40.30-user. Then what should I do ?
Guys, all, try this

1.after flashing you should reboot to recovery mode it will install recovery after that it will show g7102 logo that time imedietely remove the battery
2.then again reboot into recovery & click data factory reset & then reboot...
note:
1.try flashing with different usb cable because dirty flash can also cause this problem
2.and before this what was your stock rom before on your phone 4.4.2 kitkat ver or jellybean ver
3. and be sure you are flashing the correct rom of your region as per your phone (for example indian ver of stock rom are of two kinds one is inu version & the other is ins version) so pls check which version of the rom is supported by your region & your phone
I'm trying to find the IMEI of an LGG2. It's a Rogers phone and the IMEI isn't on the back, sim tray or anywhere on the physical phone. The phone is stuck in a boot loop so I can't go into the settings to retrieve the IMEI, so I'm trying to fix the boot loop issue. When I go into system recovery and wipe data, factory reset, or wipe cache I get error messages:
E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)

I'm trying to flash it using my PC but the PC isn't recognizing the device. Is there anyway to flash it or unlock the bootloader without the phone turning on? Alternatively is there a way to force the PC to recognize the phone? I've installed drivers for it but it's not showing up in my device manager at all.
Basically how do I get this phone to turn on? I'm not sure the history on it as it was passed down to me, but the person said it had never been rooted and the bootloader is for sure still locked. Help!

I have the same issue
could you resolve this issue?
I am trying to change the current 3.24.40.87 droidboot and recovery to fastboot and TWRP but not matter how much I flash them, it does not take change (yes, I am unlocking the bootloader)
I am also executing a script to get the original partitions table back but when sec_offline_update_image.cmd executes the command "fastboot oem partition /tmp/partition.tbl" I get the error "FAILED(remote: GPT command failed)"
Model: T00F
Intel z250 1.6 Ghz
Suddenly my apps started closing in custom rom (montana rom) like contacts, camera etc.
So i tried to restarted my phone but it stuck on boot animation.
Then i tried to wipe and flash this rom again from TWRP 3.1 but it showed me error:-
E:Unkown File System: 'osip'
E:Unable to find partition size for '/misc'
E:Unable to set bootloader message.
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
Failed to mount '/system' (Invalid argument)
Failed to mount '/cache' (Invalid argument)
Failed to mount '/data' (Invalid argument)
Now i cant wipe, change file system, install and mount.
Here's other things i've tried:
1.) Re-partition my Android
error: /parted: line 1: syntax error: unexpected word (expecting ")")
2.) Debrick Asus Zenfoen 5 with no fastboot, no recovery, and ruined partitions.....
error: debrick.bat didnt worked properly.
cannot adb sideload my firmware.. same error (unable to mount /cache)
3.)Hard Bricked Zenfone Unbrick (Last method to try)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/hard-bricked-zenfone-unbrick-method-to-t3131911
