Unlocked 6p compatible with MetroPCS? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi! Sorry in advance if this is off topic, I'm new.
I currently own a phone on Metro. However I'd like to buy an unlocked 6p from Google and switch the SIM out. Is this possible? Is there anybody who has a 6p on Metro's service? I don't want to drop 500 dollars on a phone that won't work with my carrier. Thanks!

Sorry... i didnt see there was a thread for noob questions and now I can't delete this....

Nexus S on Dumbphone Sim

Hi everybody,
I was wondering if it was possible to use a nexus S (t-mobile) on a dumbphone Sim. My mom just broke her phone and she always liked my nexus S, I just bought a Galaxy Nexus anyway, so I was hoping I could save her some money and give that to her.
I tried switching sims but it just tells me "No SIM card." I know I'd have to turn off the data connection for her since she doesn't have data on her plan but is it possible to make the talk and text work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

It should work. For it to say no sim... try another sim or just go to the store and they can give you one. If it still says no sim, then something happened to the phone.
Well I'm com used then. Not sure what a new sim will do for me if the one from her old phone works fine on other phones. Or will they just give me one that works with the nexus S? The Tmo store also says they need to unlock the phone but I thought all Nexus S phones were unlocked. Is the something else I need to do?
u need to unlock the nexus first

Most of the guides I find are to unlock the bootloader or they just say that these phones come unlocked. Anyone know of a good guide to unlock the nexus s?

Unlocking s4 to Straight Talk

Please excuse my ignorance, I've been doing my best to find some info on unlocking a S4 SGH-i337 AT&T phone, and again please accept my apology if this is the wrong board. I've been doing some research but would like to know if this exact model is still lockable to this date.
I've come upon a great deal on this phone. I use Straight Talk and would like to be able to use it as a prepaid device as I'm doing with my nexus 4 right now.
I'd like to know if anyone could point me in the direction of unlocking this device or if it's possible at all to unlock and switch to straight talk?
Hope to hear some valid responses soon, take care you guy's.
PS: also if unlocked I should be able to root just fine, would it be possible to root to bare Android 4.3 on a s4 much like the google play edition, or would the cm custom rom be my best bet to that?
Thanks again take care!
I'll go ahead and order the phone since it comes with 30 day money back no reason needed!

If I was you i would call at&t give them your imei number and if you have a nice customer service rep they will give you a unlock code or you can go on at&t website and apply for a unlock code and if they approve you after 2 weeks they will give you the unlock code in your email. What I did to unlock my phone was used ebay and payed like 3$ and got a unlock code or you can view many websites from google and look for one to unlock your phone the prices range from 10$-30$.If your switching to straight talk you wont even need to unlock your phone cause straight talk runs on at&t network so all you have to do is go on the website by a new 4glte at&t sim card for 6.99 and pay the 45$ for the service pop it in and your good to go and it comes with one day free shipping. And unlocking has nothing to do with rooting unlocking is being able to use your phone on other networks like tmobile. To run a custom rom your phone firmware in the about section has to be on MDB or MDL.If its on MF3 you can safestrap but i dont know anything about that but if you on MDB or MDL you can look for a 4.3 GPE custom rom. http://galaxys4root.com/t-mobile-galaxy-s4-roms/google-play-edition-rom-for-galaxy-s4/ this is where i got my GPE rom.
Doesn't need to be unlocked. Just buy the AT&T compatible SIM card from StraightTalk

Sorry I didn't get you quoted buddy had an appointment.
So I'd still be able to get lte speeds with a straight talk and use locked att phone with the sims?
That's great news for the future and I appreciate letting me know. I love gazelle now. Good thing I bought that s4 when I did because it's out of stock now. lol I think 350 is a steal for it either way!
As for the rooting part didn't mean to confuse the two, hopefully we'll be able to install 4.4 kitkat to an s4 soon. Though question if I did install a custom rom would I loose some of the features such as IR blaster?
I already have a straight talk sim card in my nexus 4 so I should be able to just transfer everything and my time to my new phone.

Yes you will get lte speeds since straight talk supports lte on at&t network now and it deoends what rom you run if its a stock GPE rom u=you might lose it but you probably could find a app for that but if its a touchwiz rom you will still have all your IR features. And it depends you can try to switch the straight talk sim card and see if you get LTE but i think you will need to buy the new straight talk lte sim card on their website.http://www.shopstraighttalk.com/bpd...&locale=en&market=GSM4&productFamily=simcards

Thanks again, I already have a straight sim card in my nexus 4 so it should be as simple as swapping it out. Do you think 350 was a good price paid for it used? It doesnt come with a battery so thats a worry but I bought it from gazelle

[Q] US Cellular S5 on Verizon Network? Possible?

Sorry If I come across as a newbie here, just looking for some help
I had to switch providers, so I paid off the contract on my USC S5, and got a new S5 from Verizon (Don't ask why lol, long story.)
I have a friend who I really want to give this USC phone to, but they are also on Verizon. I need to get her on this phone with her current plan preferably with the SIM she already has I really do hope this is possible, she could really use it.
I need to know how to go about getting it on her network. Do I need to Factory Unlock?
If so, How?
(I don't even know if it is locked)
Phone in question is currently rooted and running Cyanogen Mod 12.

16GB
Really do appreciate any input on this. Thank you

HELP! 930P Working With Verizon SIM

Hey everyone. Sorry for the noob and the redundant question. I've combed through all of the 930P forums for an answer and my head is spinning in circles. Let's cut to it...
I have an unlocked S7 from sprint. My son has used it for about a year as a tablet using wifi. It has never been activated through sprint. I am a verizon customer and want to get a verizon SIM working with it so he can have a fully functional phone. I've read at least a dozen different threads on what to do, but don't want to brick the it. It shows 'Invalid SIM card' message when I put the verizon SIM card in it and the phone does not have any of the Samsung bloatware on it. Can anyone help or point me in a good direction, or would it be easier to sell it and find a Verizon variant? Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! I have a 7 year old who is BUGGING me about his phone.

Sounds like the phone isn't sim unlocked
I'm in the same boat. Sprint unlocked it and UICC says it's unlocked for any sim card, but the phone keeps saying it's roaming and the hands free message is constantly popping up.
Is there a firmware I can flash or a setting I can change to get this working properly on Verizon?

OnePlus 6T Unlocking question

I have the Tmo version of the 6T. I was able to flash the phone with the the GSM version (international conversion) and unlock the bootloader and root. I am switching to VZW and I put in the VZW sim and it came up with carrier locked message. Since the phone doesnt have any TMO software on the phone anymore, I thought it would be carrier unlocked as well. Phone is still on EIP jump plan. Any ideas around this without paying the phone off? Sorry for the newbie question.

There are 102 pages of posts. Nothing answering my question on the first page. Simple question. Anyway to sim unlock a phone that was already converted? Or do I have to use a service or have TMO do it?
