From B574 to B564 - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hy guys,as you can see in the title i want to go back to B564,i have a lots of short frezes and sometime the phone freeze completly. And after that it's an imposibile mission to surf on the internet (not really but something like that),the page everytime go up and again some short frezes. How can i install the old version B564? I tried to put the B560 and update but he jump directly to 574...

You can get B564 right from Huawei.

Do I need to flash it, or I can just put it into dload folder and do a local update? Will it downgrade?

Just put it into dload folder on sd card and do the update, thats what i made and works perfectly now

Just to clarify, with the dload method you can also downgrade too? Since its called "Local Update" I thought its obviously only works for updating software, not for downgrading.

Yes, you can downgrade too.

But will we lose our files and apps? If we downgrade?

I am on VNS-L21C432B336 (beta) and i'm unable to install B370 via FF proxy. After downloading, it fails verification with error "failed to authenticate the package....will be deleted".
I can't post in the P9 Lite thread, so i am trying here, if someone can help me.
Do i need to downgrade to MM, B160? Cam i update to 370 via dload folder and 3 buttons method without downgrading?
I already tried rollback via this metod http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...vices-t3563955 and after 5% it gives the error "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct update package."
Do i have to do anything else before loading the rollback file onto the SD Card in the dload folder?

I used the exact rollback package to rollback from b371 incomplete build to b160 and worked great...
Is my phone supposed to be rooted, or have TWRP installed for the operation to be completed successfully?
I tried 2 times and it always fails at 5 % giving the error "Software install failed! Incompatibility with current version. Please download the correct update package."
The phone should be unrooted with stock recovery for this to work.
Did you try directly updating to b370 or 371 via 3 button method ? Not sure if this would work but this is what I would try to do if I we're you.

When i bought the phone, the bootloader has already been unlocked, and TWRP installed. I wanted a clean experience so i flashed the beta 336. TWRP is gone, so i belive is not rooted anymore. The message at startup still shows up that " your phone can't be trusted". So is the bootloader locked now? Can it even be relocked?

I don't know the answer. As far as i know flashing b336 should relock the bootloader and get back to stock recovery. In development topic there is a discussion about going back to stock. Maybe there you will find the way to get back to stock.
Don't try to flash b370 or b371 if you are unsure that the bootloader is locked. I will search more info on this and get back to you if i can find something.

I have read on the forum that is not possible to flash b370 directly from b336. If it bricks the phone, how will i flash another stock rom? I was planning to rollback to b160 and upgrade to b370 using the firmware finder and the stock updater. I might give it a try, flashing the B370 directly. Also, will i need 2 files, on the dload folder? The update.app and the big 1.94gb image? Thanks
Also, if huawei finally releases the B370 OTA. will i get the update automatically if i am on beta?

Helpful video
I was having difficulty figuring out how to use Firmware Finder when I upgraded to B360 on my VNS-L21. Then I found this video, and it worked perfectly.
Forgive me if this is old news, but it may help someone who is also having difficulty:
I am unable to post the YouTube URL as I am fairly new, but search for this title: "[How to] Using Firmware Finder by Team MT. Installing any firmware from Huawei update server."
I finally managed to find the courage to update. Went smoothly. I can confirm that Firmware Finder works, but be careful to download the right package. For B160 - B370 and B161 - B371. Both are 1.94 GB in size. Nougat is very nice and all features work as intended. Lets see the battery life now...

NRD90M test keys, unable to rollback to mm

Hi, I am new at the forum. I know that are a lot of threads open at this time, but I can't manage to get a solution to my problem. I did an update with Firmware Finder, and this changed my version C432b160 to NRD90M test-keys. The problem is that my first version was VNS-L21 c02b122 Vodafone branded. Because of this update, I've lost all apps and my Bluetooth didn't work anymore.
I can't do a factory restore complete, I mean that the factory reset only delete anything on my phone, but the Bluetooth still don't work
Huawei customer said that I've lost my warranty, but I didn't made any bootloader unlocking or root to my device. Does anyone have a solution? A rollback without root? I should send it to service? Maybe the customer is wrong.
Sorry for my English, I'm from Romania.
Have you flashed oeminfo and custom.bin?
Nope. Just the update.app.
After the last update I can't access updater app from settings. The only way is using dload method.

Detailed guide to downgrade from Nougat to Official Marshmallow (NEM-L22)

Detailed guide to downgrade from Nougat (unofficial or beta) to Official Marshmallow.
Saw many users struggling with unofficial Nougat update (via firmware finder) and were looking for downgrade procedure (on Facebook, honor community and on XDA) to go back to stable and official Marshmallow version from Beta/stable stock Nougat version. Below method is thoroughly checked personally by me for more than 5-6 times and I am writing this detailed step by step guide for downgrade.
Prerequisites-
Non-rooted phone (no changes to the system partition and bootloader made)
Make sure you are running the Nougat version B3XX (not custom ROM)
Make sure you are on stock recovery.
Make sure to take full backup of the data and apps as this downgrade process will erase all your data and will wipe the internal memory. (you can use this backup to restore your contacts, call/sms logs, app with data, your home screen layout etc.)
Make sure your device is charged to at least 50%.
SD card with minimum 4 GB free space (as main product package is around 2.77 GB in size)
Let’s start the process.
Updating product transfer package-
Download the update.app product transfer package for Honor 5C device from link https://goo.gl/KYZ3Pd
Create a folder dload in the root directory of your SD card.
Copy the update.app package which you just downloaded to dload folder.
Power off the phone.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button.
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically
.
Updating the main product package (Marshmallow B151 package)
Delete the old dload folder from SD card. (which had transfer package file of size 69 MB) - Do not forget to delete this folder or rename it or else the same file will be keep on flashing again and again.
Download the full version package from the link https://goo.gl/8d4s73
Copy the entire folder with UPDTAE.APP file in it to root directory of SD card.
Power off the phone.
Press volume up+volume down keys and simultaneously press power button.
Your phone will automatically detect the package and will start the update process.
Once the update process is successful, you will get a message as update was successful and your phone will restart automatically.
During restart, phone will verify the system image.
This verification and 1st boot may take upto 4-5 minutes so do not panic.
Once the phone is booted and up, it will ask for the initial setup like language, wifi, agreement etc.
Validation-
Once the phone is setup, go to setting—about phone—check the android version and build number to verify you are running on Android Marshmallow version.
NOTE:
This process will completely erase your data, so make sure to have a backup before proceeding further.
This process will downgrade your phone to Android marshmallow, EMUI 4.1.2 and B151.
I have personally tested this method and downgraded my phone to marshmallow without any issue (10+ times)
If you follow the guide correctly, you should not face any issue with condition that all the Prerequisites are met and you followed the steps in order.
If anyone still have any doubt or a slight hesitation, please feel free to ask in the comment before proceeding and risking your phone.
I have a doubt
Hi shashank,
I am using honor 5c Indian version running in naugat. My phone is very slow. If I downgrade to Android 6.0 will get speed??. Because my handset was smooth when it was marshmallow......

i think you are mistaken since some guys have reported successfully doing it ...
in any event if you can't downgrade using dns try downloading the complete OTA package and try doing it in erecovery on your phone ..
failing that you might as well try every method you can find that is related to "restoring" your device using the old OTA package ..
however since this is the only downgrade option AFAIK you are SOT if you can't make it work but you are probably just committing an error or have a bad internet connection etc etc and however painful it's in your own interest to keep trying ..there is just no one button press solution for you ..
i saw somewhere one of the things you can pay dc unlocker for is downgrading but tbh i don't know if it works or not so can't advocate it ...
sorry to hear about your bad luck but if you can't make the above work .....you post a solution if and when you find it to help other guys ...

you can try to download the full OTA update package with firmware finder ...then put the update.zip on internal sd card in folder dload ...boot into erecovery and try to apply the zip ....worth a go..
read & try all these methods

I've been aware that firmwares from Firmware Finder don't work in order to downgrade. You need a full firmware, look for it at https://androidhost.ru/ be sure to search your MODEL and CUST, the lowest build number available. Then extract DLOAD folder and put it in your external SD card, inside this folder you should see update_sd.zip and then another folder with your model and cust which is named update_full_sd... or something. After that go to dialer, type in #*#*2846579#*#* then software upgrade - sdcard upgrade (this wipes data so make a backup). In the end you'll end up with an older firmware so you can use DC Unlocker. I did it in that way and I was able to use the unlock service.

Is there "huawei identity" part on your rom? Is software OTA update available?
Can confirm this works but i had to do using my pc as a wifi hotspot and setting the dns using speedify proxy due my router not having the options to change the dns. Use TEAM MT Firmware finder pc version and follow the instructions then open hisuite and it will downgrade for you, i was then able to unlock my bootloader with dc unlocker and root with magisk.
I took the telephone to a shop for firmware repair. He tried for a couple of days and he also couldn’t get back to official software.

I can guarantee that its possible even with a locked bootloader aslong as the you are placing a signed firmware onto it.
The method needed is quite a pain, the only way i got it working is by making my pc into a wireless hotspot and altering the DNS from there then in firmware finder you need to register the firmware to you imei/ip then you can either try with huisuite or through recovery to click to check for updates and instead of it asking the official servers it ask or checks the firmware finders dns server which then confirms there is an update

Hey !
have you read other posts before requests for help ?
There are a lots about.
Use Huawei Firmware Finder app to try to upgrade, go for B362 FULL OTA MF PV first
and if don't succeed try with B362 FULL OTA MF one.
All the info are inside the app.
Upgrade manually should be possible with Meticulus TWRP v4,
but it is very dangerous because of bricks, and i don't reccomend you to do, but
phone is yours and if you don't succeed with FF you could give a try... (be carefull)
Good luck ! :fingers-crossed:

Well, dload method won't work to upgrade to android 7.
Try the versions i suggested you.
Follow correctly the procedure inside the app,
try with vpn method.
Select the update, verify it with your imei and launch the download.(edited)
Look inside your inbuild updater if an update is offered.
If yes download till 5% and press pause. Now stop vpn, then continue with inbuild updater.
You should be able to upgrade..

Maybe your current firmware aren't able to upgrade
and need an intermedie firmware such as this one - VNS-L23C605B120CUSTC605D126
(i think is for dual sim but not sure, check with imei first and really don't know if will work).

Thats the version i have installed VNS-L23C605B120CUSTC605D126. I check with imei and the B362 FULL OTA MF PV and its ok to install. When i use VPN mode offer to download the version you said, b362 (456mb), when its going to install also fails at 2%.
The phone its not unlocked o rooted, i dont know if thats the problem.

Yes, but which method?? I go to the app, put get an update through DNS of that version you said, then put Auto DNS, go to the updater and it dowload me the version of 456mb (B362) when finish to download, reboot and fails to install at 2%.
Also i download the update.app from that version, put *#*#2846579#*#* and i upgrade sd. When its installing fails at 5% like the pic attached before.
I dont know why its keeps failing.

So you did it ? Yeahh that's a good new !!
Dude update the same way you already done with FF. Try with latest rom...
In FF, in search tab type only VNS-L23C605 and you'll see all the available firmwares.
Select B394 FULL OTA MF (2.07gb size), use the vpn method, register and use inbuild updater.
As i can see this should be the latest fmw for your device with july 2018 security patch.
The other way to update is using Huawei Recovery Updater, you easily find here on XDA,
but you need to unlock the bootloader and install a custom recovery. Better use FF directly.
Cheers

Check this Youtube video.
If even can't make an update you can still use one of the HWOTA methods
or use Huawei Recovery updater, you find all here on XDA.
Best regards
