EDIT: BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED, WHICH IS CAUSING THE FREEZE
Hey everyone, I have a rooted Asus ZenFone 5 16gb(firmware 3.24.40.87) running on 5.0, bootloader unlocked, with TWRP recovery, and Xposed framework(version 76) installed.
My device freezes randomly, even when I'm just leaving the screen on sometimes. This started happening after I unlocked my bootloader. Now, I know I could just relock it. But I want to flash stuff. So, is there any way to fix this? Can I just flash a ROM and then lock my bootloader? And unlock it to again flash a different ROM?
Anyone?
Sent from my ASUS_T00J using XDA-Developers mobile app
please follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/unlocking-zenfone-5s-bootloader-freeze-t3362234
and you cannot just flash a rom(like RR or AICP) and relock your bootloader.
only stock based roms (roms that can boot with stock kernel) are relockable (like cleanstock or gecko rom)
you can relock bootloader only on stock rom, if you use stock kerenel(boot.img), no on custom (cm12.1 cm13 aokp), if you are on stock, you should sideload lates ofiicial rom version, it will relock your bootloader itself, or you should try some re-lock tool

Hello,
I am looking for a smooth method to lock and unlock the bootloader on my Nexus Player. Although being it is not a phone I guess I could just leave it unlocked... I am also looking for the best current method to root the Nexus Player on 6.0. I have been searching but I keep coming across guides for lollipop.
Thank you in advance!
Unlock/root guides are similar. They are the same except for the files used.
For Android M - i use fugu-mra58k. Use Chainfire's beta-supersu-v2.51 and it requires custom boot img, can be found on his tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps...ellow-t3219344. There is supersu2.52 but im not sure if it will have issues. My NP was already unlocked so I just flashed factory, moved supersu2.51 zip, boot into bootloader and flash twrp and CF's custom boot.img. At this point DO NOT restart NP, just boot it into twrp and flash supersu (you'll need otg+mouse attached). reboot and you should be good to go.
I have flashed twrp recovery and got it without unlocking bootloader, what happens if I try to flash CM, will it cause any issues, because bootloader isn't unlocked?
Probably
Btw how did u install recovery ?
HELP!!!
How did u install twrp brother????
plz help me out.Im stuck in bootloop.
For safety just unlocked your bootloader, flash the latest twrp3.0.2-5 and flash CM13/CM14. Make sure you are on stock MM firmware before flash CM13 version and above.
Hello, due to a selfie block I had to install TWRP and CM14.1
Is there a way to reinstall the stock rom?
If I try to install from TWRP, risk that hangs around?

Click to collapse
If you installed twrp, then you can not flash incremental OTA rom.. You must always download full rom to update. Even if your phone not rooted.
Also, You could get bootloop / Brick your phone and get Relocked Bootloader and lose TWRP.
Like Rukijo said, just download the full rom (.Zip format) and flash it via recovery. You will keep the Unlocked bootloader and the TWRP.
I recently downloaded the latest upgrades to the firmware. Need help with rooting this device now. It's running Oxygen OS 3.6.1 and Android 6.0.1.
u can use same methods .. like unlock boot loader and flashing any custom recovery!
You need to unlock your bootloader, then flash TWRP recovery through fastboot, and then flash Magisk or SuperSU through TWRP.
I have Kenzo and I have followed the following steps to unlock the bootloader unofficially:
1. Go to edl mode
2. Flash Miui7.1.3 build with the replaced emmc_appsboot.mbn file.
3. Then in fastboot rom, I unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP.
4. Using TWRP I have tried to install Resurrection remix, LOS, Pixel experience.
But in every custom rom, it gets stuck on the boot screen of the ROM. I tried to install other custom roms too, but the same problem occurs. But the miui fastboot rom is getting successfully installed and started successfully, with wifi not working and the rom is also restarting occasionally. Can you please tell me what could have possibly gone wrong while unlocking the bootloader?
I have twrpv3.x.x which is running well without constant reboots.
use redwolf or zcx twrp
After so much of hustle, I am successfully able to install a custom rom (LOS 14.1). If someone else faces the same issue, follow this guide:

flash aboot-mod.zip after flashing any rom, work perfectly for me
