A friend tried root without without success on my Note4 SM-N910H Kitkat and I noticed my the imei became null. I managed to upgrade the firmware to Marshmallow but am still unable to make call or browse with the device.
It gives me "Not Registered To Network" error whenever I try registering the network via settings or even making calls.
Please what do I do?
Meanwhile I don't have any imei backup before it crashed.
Somebody should come to my aid please.
Since the IMEI number of your device has been erased, it will no longer be able to make calls. As your device needs an IMEI number in order for it to connect to a cellular network. You will have to figure out a way to restore the IMEI number to your device.
That's the problem. How do I figure out a way to restore imei on note4
find solution im also like you
Original packaging will have IMEI of the phone. You may be able to get IMEI from a phone that's no longer used. Good luck.

Need advice..
Sorry for my bad english..
Based upon claims your IMEI is fake, either the original IMEI was cloned and subsequently discovered, or the phone is counterfeit. I'd see about getting your money back, because Samsung won't touch it, and discussing methods to change the IMEI is forbidden here.

once more,,what it's IMEI CERTI : Fail ????
Don't worry about the IMEI Cert. Mine says "N/A" yet the phone functions normally.
As to the IMEI itself, when you enter *#06# into the dialer, what is the result? Do you get a number, a number starting with 049, or a null response? If a number, does that match the number in the battery compartment?
Any other result than a number matching the number in the battery compartment requires the phone be serviced, which may not be cheap, assuming Samsung even touches the phone.
Bluetooth and WiFi may work again if you flash the firmware for your device through Odin. But this phone will never make calls until the IMEI issue is resolved, if it can be resolved.

I don't think to make IMEI match anymore,,i just wanna my BT and Wifi work again.

disassembly and check hardware was too but nothing happen

Send the device to Samsung for service. Especially if repeatedly flashing the firmware didn't fix the WiFi and Bluetooth. Be prepared to pay for the privilege.
Hi,
Let see if someone can help me.
Im trying to help out a friends cousin, he came here to sweden from the war and hes mobile dosent work, so he cant call back home to contact anyone there.
This is what i need help with.
He have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C and he bought it in turky, to be avaible to use it in hes contry they had to root it in turky (this is what he said) and they rooted it for him.
But the dident seem to leave a backup of the orgininal efs map or anything, have checked the phone storage and even the SDCARD he bought at the same time that he have never formate.
So since the IMEI number is wrong he cant connect to any network here in sweden, the IMEI number goes to some Philips phone.
So i tryed to restore the IMEI to the one on the back of the Note 4 phone, i though i was succsessfull since *#06# shows the right IMEI number now, that match the one on the back.
But when i go into Settings->About Device->Status the IMEI number is still the Philips one, i tryed to recreate and remove the efs folder but ended up with NULL or 000000000 IMEI at Device status.
Can someone help me? me rly wanna be avaible to call home and do video calls with rest of hes family still at home in the war.
I even tryed upgrade firmware and downgrade i have tryed a custom firmware and official.
Tryed changing mode firmware and everthing, been trying to get it to work for 4 days now.
And he dont have any money to buy a box to fix the phone.
Thanks,
As far as I'm aware, transferring IMEI numbers etc is Illegal. This reeks of something illegal.

Greetings,
Changing the IMEI is illegal in most countries and therefore discussing it on XDA is forbidden. I hope you understand.

Hello guys. I am not quite new here, but I never registered (or I did but I couldn't find with which email or username).
However, I am having some trouble with Samsung S7 phone.
First of all, the IMEI on the About page is not the same as the IMEI on the back of the phone.
When I enter the IMEI from the back of the phone in IMEI checker, I get the right phone (Samsung S7).
When I enter the IMEI from the About page in IMEI checker, I get some old BLU phone.
Second problem is that I think this phone is not duos, however, whichever firmware I try to flash, I see the SIM card manager in the Settings. Which is weird to me.
Third problem is that the phone won't connect to network. I've tried 3 SIM cards (all 3 of those works on other phones), but this one just won't connect.
It shows full strength of signal, it also shows the phone number of the SIM, however, when I try to make a call, it says "Not registered on network".
The phone should not be locked as my brother said that he used it for some time, then he updated it to the latest OS and then did a factory reset. After that, the phone just stopped working.
Does anyone know what could be the issue? Why the IMEIs are different?
I am quite sure that the phone model is SM-G930F, however, the model number in Settings shows SM-G930FD. Which is again weird to me.
I've looked on the Google to see a picture of the SIM card slot of Samsung S7 duos and mine SIM card slot does not like that. Also, on one slot, it says only "microSD" and on another "SIM". So, I guess it is not a duos phone.
Any advices?
Thank you in advance!
All the best,
Dale
It sounds like somebody has changed the IMEI of the phone and patched the certificate for the IMEI to work.
Once you reset the phone or update the firmware on it, it will remove the patched certificate allowing the changed IMEI.
You will need to look for someone that does IMEI repair / change to get it working for you again I know there is a guy on the forums here that does them for free. Look through the s7 edge sub forums for them.

Well, I already flashed the firmware multiple times with different basebands and versions of the firmware as I thought that the firmware is wrong. Also tried to flash the firmware with Phone EFS Clear option checked in Odin.
Everything else on the phone works.
Sorry that this isnt help but you not alone, I unbricked a Samsung S7 (SM-G930F) after it suddenly just bricked (hard brick/soft brick - same thing). Eventually when I installed nougat on it, and finally wanted to use the phone, i tried a simcard and noticed how it would load all saved contacts but whatever I dailed, it responded "Not registered to network". Checking the model number it is now SM-G930FD but i am unable to verify the imei becuase of missing box. I tried many firmwares (even those that specify its for SM-G930F) but the model number remains SM-G930FD.
could any help plz be posted...

Hey, I have the same problem, I guess that there's not solution yet.
Try here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3379516
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Do you a have a efs.img backup ? Or any kind of IMEI/EFS/RADIO backup ?
I had the same problem I flashed the stock ROM and somehow I lost my IMEI info, I tried everything and I was even thinking about buying a z3x box but then I decided to do a very risky move , I completely deleted all the EFS related files/info and reflashed again but now I was not able to boot because I always sent me to recovery mode saying that :
"E:Failed To Mount /EFS (invalid argument )"
Then all I did was installing TWRP and rooted my SM-G935F and then I placed my efs.img backup on my internal SD CARD and went on recovery launched the terminal and wrote this :
dd if=/sdcard/efs.img of=/dev/block/platform/155a0000.ufs/by-name/EFS
Then I wrote reboot and it finally my phone was booting and I recovered my IMEI and was able to use my phone normally.
This only works if you have a backup of your EFS, and even if you do is risky , but I did it because I lost all hope and was accepting the fact that my phone would just become a useless wifi only device .
So there is not a fix yet for this problem ?
I have a problem on my s7edge instead. If i have valid imei i'am almost always in emergency calls, and when the signal comes back does not go into mobile data connection. With the wi fi no problem. Can someone help me i'am going crazy.!

IMEI, Network Signal and Baseband is misssing
Hi
I am ready to donate if any expert can help me to restore IMEI.
I am using SM-N9500 samsung note 8 model - hongkong version, i frequently change the roms.. when last time i tried to install a custom rom i lost IMEI. i am getting error like IMEI-unknown, baseband- unknown, no network and sim cards not working..
i tried installing stock rom, custom roms, it was installing successfully but only baseband, signal and IMEI are not working. i didnt even back up my EFS folder. So, kindly help me to get back my IMEI.
I have installed stock rom, still no IMEI. now i rooted my mobile and taken EFS backup. is it enough? if yes, pls suggest me the next steps. I also tried installing combination firmware, though is not working, installation was successful and also i am able to see the factory binary logo, after which it will switch off automatically and boot loops. everytime it will open factory binary and immediately it will switch off automatically..
Build number - R16NW.N9500ZHS4CRJ1
Hello everyone, I recently picked up a this phone for cheap since I've been looking for a compact phone. Turns out the phone constantly has no service. There is no water damage, imei is fine, Sim card slot is okay, and baseband is recognized by the phone.
After dialing *#*#4636#*#*, I am unable to turn on radio. Thus making me unable to make calls or send texts. I've tried many ways to fix this error, such as flashing firmware, repairing in Sony companion application, and reboots. The Sim card in the phone is okay and works on my XZ.
I have read that restoring a working QCN file can reboot the phones imei and baseband, making GSM service usable.
Can someone here provide me with a QCN file?
Thanks.
