Hey,
I've been trying to install Exposed Framework on my Galaxy S4 and managed to brick it, hard. Can't run recovery mode, download mode, it doesn't connect to my computer and when I try to start it up all it says is Start Up Failed, Device didn't start up successfully. Use Verizon Software Repair Assistant to repair it, but I don't have that nor can I find it anywhere online. I'm by no means technologically illiterate. Is there any way that someone could help?
Nevermind I ended up fixing it, ran a program through Odin that for whatever reason worked and phone is fixed.
Facing same problem here. I cannot get the recovery mode. Not rooted the S4 yet. What did you install through Odin to get through this? Thanks.

no, you go download mode and open odin as admin after you flash the stock firmware from sammobile.

You're not offering anything for people to help you. What errors? What were you trying to Odin? What settings? What machine (PC, Mac, Linux)? Odin has a 3.07 for this, so you might try that, but otherwise, you just said "it's broke -fix it!". More information gets better answers.
And you didn't even say what or why you started this in the first place.
that would be kinda important smh.
errors
start [224, 1440]
bar [240, 1440]
it gives a third one but it blinks out faster than i can read it....it started after i attempted to flash slimbeans rom onto it. it boots all the way up to att and just sits there if anymore information is needed just ask ill give all i can to fix this problem
i got it to go odin 307 didnt fix it if any one else has this problem on windows or any system that has kies just run emergency recovery and it will fix it

I had to use KIES emergency firmware recovery. ODIN flashed fine for me after loki, but I was stuck on the samsung custom screen afterwards. The KIES emergency firware recovery did the trick. Hopefully this helps others.
OK, So I have rooted some phones through Odin and have some experience regarding them. Today I was trying to root a Grand 2 G7102 when Odin crashed unexpectedly and my root process stopped and that is where my problems began. The phone now only boots into Odin downloading mode and the recovery mode is not working, Tried to repair it using Kies but it kept on giving me errors on the last step and it always stopped at 76%, next I tried to flash a custom ROM through Odin but that failed too. So any solutions or remedies for that?

no its depends upon whether you are able to boot after switching off the device
(if it doesn't then you got it bricked)
BTW till now there is no such problem that the anyone is stuck at download mode

Based on what you said, I think it's bricked. I tried the process you told me to do but it didn't work either and the phone isn't powering on at all.
The best option is giving it to the service center. Thanks for helping anyway. Gained experience from this though.
I have an i337 NC1 build Galaxy S4 (AT&T). I'm totally new to custom roming, but I wanted to give it a shot for fun. I tried using towelroot along with SuperSu, and TWRP Manager to flash TWRP onto my phone because it supposedly worked on NC1. Apparently I did something wrong because I no longer have a recovery mode. It just gives the downloading/target screen when I try to access it. Am I screwed or is there some possible way for me to fix this? Thanks!

You can't just install a recovery just like that because at&t has a locked bootloader. You will probably need something like safestrap.
Go to the proper forum for help.

That's a completely different problem. Sounds more like a hardware failure. But you should make your own thread with way more information if you want people to take a closer look.

Ah, right. Forgot about AT&T not exactly being so customize friendly, unlike the non-AT&T phones. Scratch what I said in my above post. AT&T phones have more restrictions (security) when it comes to flashing, etc. Use the link above and make sure you find a proper thread that will help you out.
So, I was going to install a Lollipop rom and I thought I followed directions correctly but it gets stuck at the "Powered by Android" very first screen. Booting into recovery gets me into the simple manual recovery mode and not safestrap. Odin also doesn't seem to recognize that I've connected my phone - although maybe there's a special way to do it?
I basically need help getting my phone working again. I've dug around but everything seems focused around using Odin and I don't know how to get that to see my phone in the state that it's in.
Help!
So, reasons I am dumb #1: I had no idea what the key combo to boot into Odin was (volume down+home+power) So, now I can get to Odin and I'll try to figure it out from here unless someone jumps in with something before I do.
Sheesh. Sigh.
im in need of help myself as I went to root my sm-g900v and now am stuck in bootloop.. how do i fix this? no matter what I do to get it to restart, same result....

From Download Mode, just flash a stock ROM. If you hadn't rooted yet, you can use Kies 3, from Samsung, to reset your phone to newest ROM, correcting any issues. Verizon also has a Software Repair tool you can try, but I like Kies better. All the info you need is in the stickies.
Hi,
I have a problem identifying the phone. Behind the S4 battery pack and it says GT-i9500 but when I goes to the download mode, it shows as SCH-i545. The phone belongs to my friend and he asked for my help to fix the issue as now, the S4 can only go into download mode and could not go into recovery mode.
My question.
It is SCH-I545 or GT-19500?
How do I fix the soft brick issue?
What is the firmware that I should be using?
Thank you in advance for any answers.

UPDATE: Null imei and baseband not found.

It's a SCH-I545. Download mode doesn't lie.
To fix the soft brick you can try Kies (or whatever Samsung calls it now) or Odin.
With Odin you flash the firmware manually. You can download the firmware from sammobile.com, or you can use sammobile.com as a reference as to what firmware to download and download it from somewhere else.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply. I tried Kies and it says that the device is not supported. Also, I used Odin to flash and the device does not boot up, I can only go to Download mode for now but I could go to recovery as it shows Samsung logo with a Custom word. It doesn't bring me further than that.

Tried the latest rom with Odin: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SCH-I545/ ?
The following is going to happen when you install the ROM.
1. The bootloader will end up locked.
2. The device will get no service at all, even if its IMEI is somehow restored.
Avoiding the first issue involves flashing an old ROM with a bootloader whose encryption was broken. There's no way to avoid the second. The lack of an IMEI complicates matters greatly. Restoring the IMEI is essentially impossible without tools and methods that cannot be discussed here; methods that the seller clearly knows about. Samsung will not touch this device as it has been modified and is being used outside of its country of origin.
Your friend is essentially screwed. Frankenphones. You've gotta love 'em.
