i recently noticed that the progress spinner animations for apps loading and such, is moving abnormally fast and is kind of an eye sore
the tiny spinners like the one showing your text message is sending dont even move at all tho..
anyone else noticing this? rooted with xposed installed, using only adblock and network speed status bar mod
Have you changed the animation speeds at all in developer menu? Go check em.

Hi Guys,
I recently installed Pure messenger widget off the marketplace. It runs fine most of the time but sometimes when I click on one of the updates, it causes the status bar to force close.
Most of the time the status bar will restart itself but sometimes this does not occur. Is there a way to restart the status bar without having to reboot?

I see this sometimes (but not since I updated to N94). There's an app called "Notification Restart" which doesn't really work like you'd want it to, but it beats rebooting.
If it happens like I've seen it happen then its usually because I haven't rebooted in a couple days. So before I set it down for awhile ill just select reboot and walk away. Then when I come back its ready to go.
Has anyone found a fix for this? I get a Status Bar FC on startup, and it never fixes itself.
I am using the stock ADW launcher, but I have altered the screen density. Could that be it?
It doesn't look like they gonna fix it at all.
This is a very irritated.
Darn. I installed CM7.1 and it FC'd a few times... Then after I altered the density it has not made it past the FC at all in the last 10+ restarts. I might try to reflash CM7.1 just to make sure something didn't go wrong. What a pain.
Also, I tried the tricks that were mentioned about manually restarting the service, using the Notification Restart app, toggling the status bar hide/show option, nothing seems to bring it back up.

What worked for me was getting a pure Sandisk class 4 sd card. I had a class 4 by lexmark before, but would get random fc's on systemui which would make my bar go away.
Now I'm on a 16 gb Sandisk Class 4 and haven't had any fc's since.

Hey guys, I used to have the same issue (happened sometimes with some apps, and always after an LCD density change). What fixed it for me was running "Fix Permissions" in ROM Manager. Run it and restart, and hopefully it'll fix it (it did in my case).
Hope that helps.
Hey all, first post here at XDA. I'd love to post this on the PA developer forum but I'm locked out until my tenth post (makes sense).
Lots of people have been complaining about the bar that shows up on whatever side PIE is active, that appears to lag for a few seconds before loading up correctly. Likewise, this affects the home screen...the wallpaper jumps around for a second or so before ending up in the correct spot.
This isn't really a fix because you don't get the full PIE experience, but this works for me and fills my main desire of freeing up as much screen as possible without lag. My solution was to change the main interface to a Phablet layout, get rid of the nav bar by switching its value to 0%, and make the status bar as small as possible by changing the interface size to 160 DPI. It doesn't free up every bit of space on the screen, but this fixes the lag problem...and for most apps out there the status bar disappears anyways so you get full screen. Here's a couple of screenshots:
Well you should really post this on paranoidandroid's thread when you can. Pie is still in its latest beta stages so fixes will come here and there when needed.

Hollow xda community. I am having an issue with my lock screen. I am running action launcher and the Pacman ROM. My issue is that the status bar clock disappears on the lock screen. I tried running the stock launcher and it still disappears. I've attached screenshots of my issue.

Nice wallpaper.
Do you really need the notification bar clock?
What happens when you pull down the notification shade?

It's normal. Its because it shows the clock widget on the lockscreen already, so there's no point of showing it in the status bar as well.
Thanks. If I pull the notification shade down the clock appears but then disappears when I pull it back up. I understand that its not really necessary but I end up missing notifications because I think my status bar is empty. I know. Kinda stupid.
Anyways if there's a quick fix I'll be glad. Otherwise I can learn to live with it
Is anybody running into a major lag when pulling down on the notification drawer. It's weird because everything els like switching between apps is super fast but sometimes the notification drawer lags badly.
Sometime if you have high resource apps pending in the notification bar it does that. Like maps running alongside with music playing.

Not really the notification but going into settings panel from hitting the gear icon in the notification shade lags and will take a sec before the settings page loads.
I am getting lag everywhere and reboots
For anyone getting lag or stutters, be sure to check in Settings >> Accessibility, to see if any apps have access. If they do, it will definitely cause a significant amount of lag or stutter. This affects all android versions but is a bit more noticeable in Touchwiz.
@whittikins That did indeed fix the issue for me on my Samsung S7, Nova Launcher was the issue in my case.

Thanks!! That fixed it for me too on v20 running on Android 7.0
I don't yet know if this has truly fixed the issue I've been having and I know a few others have but it's definitely improved things a lot! If you have had the issue where your notification shade lags and/or your app switcher lags please try this and report back.
Go to App Manager -> Overflow button (3 dots top right corner) -> Special Access -> Draw over other apps
Now *UNCHECK* everything here.
Reboot.
Any apps that require this permission will complain and you can enable it for just those apps. My phone had this enabled for basically every app in there which seemed odd. Since I did this my phone has been very smooth for over 24 hours and my battery life has been way better too.
Again no guarantees since the issue might still happen but this has helped me more than anything else I've tried.

interested in this since the reason i jumped on here today was because of horrible lag with app switcher last night.
Testing it right now. It does feel less laggy
