SGP341 and SGP351 are identical in hardware!!
So with a SGP351 FW on the SGP341 you can enable LTE band 4
SO-03E can be debranded with SGP321 Firmware - but the 32GB Memory will be formated as 16GB

The "SGP351" model number is for an HSPA/LTE variant that appears to be for T-Mobile USA. I am too new to post links but you can find a link to the FCC filing for the device, as well as SGP341, via TmoNews or Wireless Goodness.
Yes, I am keeping a close eye on this one.

The SO-03E (docomo version) only supports LTE bands 1/19/21
Currently with stock firmware at least anyway, maybe when developers get their hands on a modem files from the SGP321 the other bands might get unlocked, unless its a hardware restriction

Band support is hardware-limited. The only thing you can hope for in some cases is unlocking additional modes in already-supported bands (like Nexus 4 LTE support for 1700 MHz.)
Qualcomm's WTR RF frontends support nearly all bands in existence *but not simultaneously in a single device* - bandswitching and filters are unique to each device.
Take a look at the first diagram at http://www.anandtech.com/show/6541/the-state-of-qualcomms-modems-wtr1605-and-mdm9x25 - the RFFE portion of that diagram differs between each device.

Well I knew that it was likely going to be hardware limited, but staying hopeful that unlocking of additional bands is possible later when more developers get their hands on the TZ.
Being able to use 4G would be a big plus, although I am still perfectly happy with my HSPA+
Wait a minute aint LTE suppose to be backward compatible? I.E should do 3g and HSPA+ ?? I mean I dont have to buy 4G sim just to use with SGP321...
I think you should also clarify which GSM and HSPA+ bands each device supports

The SIM is the same. The enduser can turn the capability on and off depending which contract he has.
So from this case it is backward compatible.
But seen from the technical side it is not backward compatible, a handover is done between 3G and 4G.

LTE is a OFDM modulation
So the technology is completely different

No what I meant was the simslot in the z should accept both 3g and 4g simcards. which you mentioned in the first line.
It's there a Wi-Fi only version? I wanna get one of these but I only need Wi-Fi.

They may have understandably missed that because the first post confusingly says "WLAN only" instead of "Wi-Fi only". UserX10 should consider correcting that.
I can confirm that my SO-03E (32 GB) DoCoMo branded works in Australia using Telstra 3G but no 4G due to the band differences.

I can confirm that it is possible to flash the SO-03E with an unbranded SGP321 firmware image BUT the LTE working bands remain the same as those that come enabled with the SO-03E: LTE_BC1, LTE_BC19, LTE_BC21. The flashing maintains a locked Boot Loader and hence the bravia 2 engine is retained. I also have an SGP321 which is now running the same firmware as the SO-03E (which is now an SGP321 with 16gig internal flash) but they both have different LTE working bands! The modem/radio software is identical on both tablets but the working bands are different as viewed via the system menu.
Does anyone know where the bands are configured/set as the Qualcomm modem chipset supports all LTE bands..... or is it flashed with the working bands on the chip when produced cannot be reprogrammed/enabled via the Android OS?

Expansys Korea (I cant post the link) has the 16Gb LTE white you want. They have sites for other countries too, but stock varies.
Wish I would of seen this a known the DoCoMo verison I have only supports one of the two LTE bands for my carrier. Signal is weak .... for now.

I know to many this is a stupid question but I always buy phones from carriers, never bought an unlocked phone. So...here goes..
Which version is best for Tmobile US LTE and HSPA+?
So, this phone will basically only work on ATT and Tmobile in the US?
Also, if you buy unlocked from Sony and activate on Tmobile and Sony releases an update do you get it directly or have to wait on Tmobile to release it as you would if you got it from Tmobile and not Sony?

C6903 will work for T-Mobile US on HSPA+ and LTE.
C6916 will be T-Mobile US's version.
C6906 works best with AT&T's HSPA+ and LTE.

D6603, D6633, D6643, D6616 have penta-band 3G.
D6653 and chinese models (L55t, L55u) only have quad band 3G(1/2/5/8), missing the AWS 1700mhz band 4.
LTE, you'll have to look at your network and see which bands are more important and are supported
The 6603 has more bands than this! For LTE that is.

Yup of course every 4G phone has a 3G band but i meant that i found a multiple model numbers and they all support 4G.

(if you are saying 4G = LTE, then yes)
but LTE is a lot more fragmented than 3G (penta band will cover almost all networks), 2G (quad band will cover almost all networks)
that's why it makes sense to say: quad-band 2G & penta-band 3G support = cover most people

Just an FYI. I have D6653 flashed with D6603 rom and it kept all of the same bands

NO, bands are not unlockable, they are HARDWARE, so, wichever rom that you flash, they will keep you the same bands.

I don't see why not.
D6603 and D6653 have exactly the same hardware. Bands restriction can be lifted if those restrictions are by software.
Edit:
Flashing another ROM might not lift bands restriction, but manually editing system props might do the trick.

Hi all!!
I had a Z3 as an upgrade from my carrier, but in the short time I owned it (4 weeks tops), some idiot in the Gym dropped weights on it and near as damn it snapped it in half!
Sadly I had no idea till I got home and checked my bag, so couldn't collar the idiot!
So iv had to claim on my insurance, but they don't stock Z3's.
This means they have given me cash to buy myself one, which is fine with me haha
BUT, when I'm looking online for a new Z3, in getting 2 different codes for them, D6603 and D6653.
Is their any difference?
If so, which should I go for!

So you habe to look which frequenzies you need to use.

I had a Z3 as an upgrade from my carrier, but in the short time I owned it (4 weeks tops), some idiot in the Gym dropped weights on it and near as damn it snapped it in half!
Sadly I had no idea till I got home and checked my bag, so couldn't collar the idiot!
So iv had to claim on my insurance, but they don't stock Z3's.
This means they have given me cash to buy myself one, which is fine with me haha
BUT, when I'm looking online for a new Z3, in getting 2 different codes for them, D6603 and D6653.
Is their any difference?
If so, which should I go for!

Were in in your shoes, I would just get the same one I had before, to make sure it's compatible with your carrier's frequencies. You can just check your box to see which one it was.
