Running Resurrection Remix on my G900i...
Using several root apps w/o issue.
Don't think Busybox is installed on Rom?
Seems strange that it wouldn't be i.e. if it was needed think dev would put it in ^^
Question: is it really needed?
TBU - didn't seem to need it... (Tried TBU to freeze some stuff, can't freeze on free = uninstalled).
Tried Flashfire and it said I wasn't rooted (but I am) thinking this could be down to BB perhaps not being installed.
Any advice welcome (helpful o/c)

Ok I have the Note 2 GT-N7100 on O2 UK.
I previously had the S2 and rooted the phone fine.
I have never installed a custom rom on any phones before.
What I need is advice on what I need to do for me to get rid of bloat ware, free up loads of space and customize my phone with a different look.
I'm aware a custom rom is personal preference but I just need anyone to guide me or give me advice on what needs to be done to get my phone working faster and better with more space.
Thanks,
Aaron.
If your happy with your rom you could just use titanium back up to uninstall any unwanted bloatware. For customisation there are lots of xposed mods that can really customise your phone

You don't have to do anything, really. Just always do a full wipe that's all.
To get rid of bloatware, I suggest ROM Cleaner head over to the Original Android Development section.

Well of course you need to root. If you need any help with that you could hit that root info tab on the note 2 main forum page. Also, if you are considering on flashing a ROM, I highly recommend Hawkish extreme ROM mainly due to the great battery life it gives and in your case, you can get rid of all the bloatware through the AROMA installer. But you could always get rid of bloat without flashing any ROMs by using those apps 'sawdoctor' & 'Simone' suggested.
Hawkish: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1983626
I'd suggest to root it and then use Titanium, not to REMOVE the apps you don't need but to FREEZE them. Then use the phone for a couple of days and if you don't experience any problems, you can remove the frozen apps. Much safer that way.
Thank you for the suggestions and advice.
If u like the stock rom, then go for AliianceRom. Its similar to the stock Samsung ROM with some extra features
Or else there are many other custom ROMs if u wanna try new stuffs and experiment.

Go for omega rom it's good

Please please please, once rooted, before flashing anything, backup the EFS.
Then as stated, use titanium to freeze apps before deleting them just in case.

I recommend Wanamlite.
I recommend rooted stock. More reliable than any custom rom or kernel.

Hi Guys,
I want to remove some app provided with VRZ notes 3 by default.
i'm talking about amazon, backup and other.
any possible way to do it ?
Thanks in advance.
PS: i did root it already but still impossible to remove.
I typically disable or freeze them, but I believe (not fully positive as I haven't tried it on the note 3) that you can use ROM Toolbox Pro or Titanium Backup to uninstall the system apps.
@Diocat, thanks will give it a try and get back for the results.
Beside I've learn that the bootloader has not been released yet by VRZ, so i guess we won't be able to get a custom rom installed until then!?

so im completely lost. after flashing a new rom yesterday, custumizing i have seem to have "lost root". superuser was working fine and i was doing things that require root. today it just stops working and i cant get root access on anything. i installed a root checker and it says i dont have root. what gives? so i was rooted yesterday and today im magically not rooted? should i just start all over and root my phone again using de la vegas tool? any suggestions to what the problem and solution will be greatly appreciated
by the way this has happened to me on quite number of roms but not to this extent where i literally have no root acess. on the other roms superuser just decided it didnt want to work anymore and i was able to fix it by unistalling it and installing a different superuser. but know i can even uninstall this one since it built into the system and you need root to unistall/delete the apk

Friend of mine just lost root on his Note 3 too. I wanted to show him some program requiring root and he was surprised he had no root anymore. Could be some Samsung silent update?
After you flash you lose root. That's how it is. Unless you use custom ROM that it's rooted by default. If you flashed Stock Rom, just go ahead and root it again.

You may have to reinstall super user and / or make super user a systems app. See screen shot from super user

Im running the stock rooted ROM on my Vz note 3, no desire to use the ROM slot overlay.
I can no longer get SuperSU to update, even with installing the beta versions.
Does anyone have a fix?
Thanks

Did you try flashing the latest SuperSU with Safestrap?
Sent from my Galaxy Note S5
Nope, I'm not using safestrap. Just running the native rooted ROM.

Rerun towelroot, reboot then try
Just tried that man, no go. Frustrating.

Use root explorer or the equivalent, go into /data/app and locate eu.chainfire.supersu.apk and if you have the pro version, locate eu.chainfire.supersu.pro.apk (there may be a "-<number>" before the ".apk) and tap on them and you should get asked if you want to install or view. Install each.
That should fix the problem.

I did that, and it reinstalled/updated the current install, but I still cannot update. Is there a step I'm missing? I'm worried I'll need to factory reset at this point.

I'm having the same issues. I have even tried to install different SU apps to see if I could make it happen that way. Still no luck and I've done all of the above aside from factory reset...something I DON'T want to do...

Your best bet is to install safestrap and flash a supersu package. Then uninstall ss if u want. Towel root is a temporary fix imo.
Check your /data/data folder and /data/app (/system/app if you've converted) and check for duplicates or what number beside package name (e.g. com.xxx.xxxx-1 or -2 and sometimes even 3 and 4. Rename it to have a -1 and then go to /data/dalvik-cache and find the same package(s), delete them and reboot. If still unsuccessful, reflash from safestrap but manually mount system b4 flashing just for the hell of it and after second boot-up (if required), you should be good. Erase any .txt or the like from sdcard and extsdcard volumes from chainfire or supersu too I almost forgot to add
Got it to finally update binaries....upgrade your SU to Beta version 2.13. Works like a charm and snappier!
Just want to say thank you to everyone who replied with great suggestions, unfortunately none of them worked. I did however stumble on a fix. I downloaded mobogenie , and when it went out to look for app updates, it had an update for superSU that the play store did not show me. I ran the updates and now we're good.
Hope this fix might help others who are stuck in the same boat.

Thanks for the tip. Technology is complicated, it is weird how a random app like that will fix something.
My superSU actually works now, one day it just asked to update and it actually worked! I think that was after another fresh factory restore and towelroot.
Anyway, good luck!
Play store has a version that works fine now. Version 2.16
As the title says, any fix for this?

i dont have issue regarding this. after root i restored all my apps using TB. no force close so far. accept game hacker and all xposed apps.
I have same problem!
Any fix!
Seem no one care this topic . I have the same problem
There was an issue of fc last time on kitkat. There is an app called tb restore fixer in playstore to resolve that issue. Maybe you're using an older version of tb?
Sent from my SM-N9005
Could be, or maybe the restoration procedure is wrong. After a fresh ROM installation you can't/ shouldn't use the TB's Restore everything feature, you will have to use the restore missing apks only feature.
Just a Q , you upgraded your device from Kitkat to LP ? If so , that seems to be the issue.
Hi Y'all.
I just did the exact same thing. Restoring a KK backup on LP that is.
I've had maybe a handful of apps force close on me.
Removing and reinstalling fixes the issue.
I know - it isn't exactly what was intended, but a handful out of maybe 250 apps is still a huge time saver.
Regards
Elo.
