1. Download latest Firmware P605XXU1EPD4 with SamFirm http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
2. Model = SM-P605, Region = VNZ, [x] Auto, [x] Binary Nature, [x] Check CRC32, [x] Decrypt automatically.
3. Then click [Check Update] and after the file is found: [Download].
4. Unpack the .ZIP-file. Should GET 4 FILES
5. Boot into Bootloader mode by holding Vol Down + Power + Home at the same time, then press Vol up when the triangle appears
6. Right click on the Odin 3 Application file and run as administrator http://odindownload.com/Samsung-Odin/#.Vm3AglE1I-Q
7. Open BL_xxx on BL, AP_xxx on AP, CP_xxx on CP and CSC_xxx on CSC, leave UMS empty!
Make sure that under options only Auto Reboot, & F. Reset Time is ticked
This will delete everything!!!
8. Boot your device, no need to setup at this point.
9. Use Odin to flash CF-Auto-Root-lt03lte-lt03ltexx-smp605 file https://download.chainfire.eu/380/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-lt03lte-lt03ltexx-smp605.zip
Make sure that under options only Auto Reboot, & F. Reset Time is ticked
The device will auto reboot, and you should see a red android pirate and some commands running
Don't worry if your device reboots a couple of times its normal
10. Use Odin to flash latest TWRP 3.0.2.0 https://dl.twrp.me/lt03ltexx/ in AP Slot with "Auto Reboot" UNCHECKED
11. Once completed do not let your device boot up
Hold Vol up + Home + power buttons to boot to TWRP recovery.
It will take a while so just wait.
BY NOW YOU HAVE A ROOTED STOCK ROM PD4 WITH TWRP recovery, and you may make a BACK UP - If TWRP offers to root, DO NOT DO IT
12. SD card fix
Launch your favorite file manager, like Root Explorer
Navigate to /system/etc/permissions/platform.xml (Do remember to backup “platform.xml” in safer place)
Open Platform.xml, then EDIT
Add the below Highlighted code lines and then save the file.
<permission name=”android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE” >
<group gid=”sdcard_r” />
<group gid=”sdcard_rw” />
<group gid=”media_rw” />
</permission>
<permission name=”android.permission.WRITE_MEDIA_STORAGE” >
<group gid=”sdcard_rw” />
<group gid=”media_rw” />
</permission>
13. Screen mirror fix
Add "wlan.wfd.hdcp=disable" line to \system\build.prop file
14. Multiwindow
a. If you want all your aplications to open in multiwindow: multiwindow commander work perfectly
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ommander&hl=el
b. if you want 4 multiwindows then follow the direction in step 2 of that posting
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/themes-apps/mod-improve-multiwindow-mode-tab-4-t2996654
just com.sec.feature.multiwindow.quadview.xml is needed to /system/etc/permissions folder, and set their perms to rw, r, r or 644,
Thanks for this! That's sharing.

How to dual boot: ONLY FOR GALAXY S2
Warning: This procedure doesn't really work anymore. It only works with Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and Siyah Kernel v 5.0.1. Later versions of either won't work. Consider this guide archived, and use it at your own risk.
If you want to test B2G from time to time but continue using Android as your main OS and you have a Samsung Galaxy S2, you can choose to install B2G in a separate partition (which is already present on the phone) and choose where to boot into when your device starts.
Prerequisites
In order to dual boot Android and B2G, you have to meet these prerequisites:
You have to have built B2G for the Galaxy S2
You have to download the Siyah kernel v. 5.0.1 for the Galaxy S2
You need the tool simg2img, that you get automatically if you build B2G following the guide on MDN
You need the heimdall tool, best if version 1.3.1 as you may encounter problems with version 1.3.2
One-time operations
There are several operations to do in order to get a working dual boot. The following ones need to be done the first time only.
In order to use heimdall without requiring root access, you should create a file called android.rules (the portion of the name before the .rules extension is arbitrary) and place it in /etc/udev/rules.d. The file should contain a line line the following:
Code:
SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="04e8", MODE="0666"
In order to activate this rule, you should restart udev:
Code:
sudo service udev restart
and then unplug and replug in the phone. The above rule will also allow adb to access the SGS2 without requiring root privlidges.
Flashing the Siyah kernel
The Siyah kernel is mandatory for the dual boot, because it is this kernel that manages it. Once you have downloaded and decompressed the tar file, you'll be left with a file named zImage. In order to flash it on your phone you have to follow these steps:
Switch off your phone
Reboot in download mode (press together volume down + home + power buttons and then, when asked, volume up button)
Use heimdall to flash the kernel with the following command (your phone needs to be connected to your PC):
heimdall flash --kernel /path/to/zImage
Once the kernel is flashed the phone will reboot.
Preparing the B2G rom environment
Once you've installed the Siyah kernel, it's time to use its functions to prepare the environment to install your B2G image in the secondary partition. Follow these steps:
Switch off your phone
Reboot in recovery mode (press together volume up + home + power buttons)
In the CWMR Touch interface, go to dual-boot options -> Wipe 2ndROM data/cache -> Yes - Wipe. This operation will take some time
Once the operation is finished, select Go Back and then reboot system now to reboot your phone. If you check, inside the internal SD card of your phone you'll now have a .secondrom directory with inside two files named cache.img and data.img.
B2G update operations
The following operations need to be done every time you build a new version of B2G.
In order to simplify command line instructions, it's advised to copy all needed files in a same folder of your choice. These are the files that need to be copied inside the folder:
Code:
simg2img, found in B2G/out/target/product/galaxys2/system/bin/
system.img, found in B2G/out/target/product/galaxys2/
userdata.img, found in B2G/out/target/product/galaxys2/
Once you have all the files in one place, do the following:
Create a data.img file out of the sparse file userdata.img. You can do it with the following command:
Code:
simg2img userdata.img data.img
Put the data.img file on your phone's .secondrom folder. You can do this either by enabling file storage mode on your phone and connecting it to your PC or, if you have USB Debug active, you can use adb:
adb push /path/to/data.img /sdcard/.secondrom/data.img
Switch off your phone
Reboot in download mode (press together volume down + home + power buttons and then, when asked, volume up button)
Use heimdall to flash B2G firmware inside the second partition:
heimdall flash --hidden system.img
Once the flash is finished, your phone will reboot and at boot time you can boot into your second rom (the B2G one) by pressing the home button during the bootloader countdown. If everything has gone right, once you've finished booting B2G you'll have a black screen on your phone. You now have to install Gaia.
Note: Depending on how you want to test B2G, you may not want to put a new data.img file on the phone every time you update B2G, as it will wipe all of your preferences, installed applications and in general pretty much everything you've done while using B2G.
Boot operations
The following operations need to be done every time you boot inside B2G.
Unfortunately, there's no simple way to put Gaia inside the system.img B2G image, and it get lost when you switch off your phone, so you'll need to install Gaia again every time you boot inside B2G. To install Gaia, type the following on a console after you've booted your phone inside B2G (so you have a black screen) and have connected your phone to your PC:
cd B2G/gaia
GAIA_DOMAIN=foo.org make install-gaia
After the upload of Gaia is completed, on your phone's screen the B2G interface will appear.

Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930P) Root & Xposed Framework install Without Voiding Warranty
Edge support and Pit problem addressed.
WARNING!!!!!!! Do not try to try any of these steps if you are on any firmware equal to or newer than PJ2
- I am not responsible for any damage done to your device through any steps taken tword rooting your Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 Edge. Proceed at your own risk!
-You will loose all your data if not currently on PE1 Firmware
- I am not to credit for all of these procedures, I only figured out how to Enable Tethering which im sure has been figured out by someone else as well.
- So there are many posts about Rooting the Samsung galaxy s7 where some people will say it trips knox and others say it's to complicated.
- This easy guide includes resources from other XDA developers whom I was able to use to root my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 and install Xposed Framework without voiding my warranty.
-You can try what ever firmware you are on, however there are many reports of issues on the new firmware. when I first did it on the newest firmware I got a boot loop but easy to fix just by re-flashing the PE1 firmware with Odin.
- Unfortunately this method will erase all data if you are not currently in PE1 firmware
- You will not Brick your phone with this method, because it is very easy to just reflash the firmware with Odin.
Download:
-The MEGA file link below contains ALL of the files you will need for the whole guide.
-download all the nessecary files and the ones specific to your device.

If Odin is requestion a pit file follow theses steps.
-I only have a sprint pit file, I don't know how many variants this will work for.
1. In Odin click the tab that says "Pit"
2. Odin will pull up a Warning dialogue. Click ok.
3. Click the long rectangular "Pit" button to select the pit file
4. Select the file that says "HEROQLTE_USA_SPR.pit" from the files you downloaded from my link.
5. With the pit file nw included, Add the AP, CP, and CSC files again and flash. (may need to reboot and go back into download mode)
3.Before you Begin Rooting:
Once You have finished flashing PE1 firmware you should then download the following apps to your Samsung:
-Package Disabler Pro or EZ Package Disabler (both will do the job and both cost alittle money. But it's great to support the developers!)
-Flash Fire
-Build Prop Editor
If you use Snapchat, now is the time to download, install, and login to the app
-Snapchat denies login to rooted andriod users, especially if Xposed Framework is installed.
4.Rooting:

I have a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 (SM-G930P) running marshmallow. It's snapdragon.
This works if your on the latest pj2 firmware?
PE1 is needed to get service back

Yes you can start on PJ2 Firmware, however before you start rooting process you have to be on PE1. My guide includes how to get back down to PE1 before you start rooting. You can use Odin and the firmware included to flash you Samsung completely back to PE1. The only reason you can't use PJ2 is because it has updated PRL's and they wont allow you to reactivate your service, therefore to reactivate your phone service you have to be on PE1 Firmware using the older PRL's.

You can not root your Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 on PJ2! If you try to do it on PJ2 you will not be able to get your sms and cell service to activate on the new updated PRL's that are included in the PJ2 update.

-You can try what ever firmware you are on, however there are many reports of issues on the new firmware. when i first did it on the newest firmware i got a boot loop but easy to fix just by re-flashing the firmware with Odin.
- Unfortunately this method will erase all data if you are not currently in PE1 firmware
- You will not Brick your phone with this method, because it is very easy to just reflash the firmware with Odin.
Here is the link to download a RAR with all of the nessecary files!
-->https://mega.nz/#F!Egt23TLa!NrynMKoUvwngnsse2zo6hw<--
-I am not responsible for any damage done to your device through any steps taken tword rooting your Samsung Galaxy S7
-You will loose all your data if not currently on PE1 Firmware
- I am not to credit for all of these procedures, I only figured out how to Enable Tethering which im sure has been figured out by someone else as well.
The RAR file attached has ALL of the files you will need for the whole guide.
-So download and extract all of the files from the RAR
-Or you can follow each link to download the necessary files
1.Preparing:
1. Install Samsung drivers:
- Extract the RAR file "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.zip"
- Run "SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones.exe" as Administrator
- A USB Driver instillation wizard will pop up
- Click next
- Select the proper language and country or region
-Select next
- Set destination path, or use the default
- Then click install and let it work its magic
2. Install ADB:
- Execute (as Administrator) the file "adb-setup-1.3.exe" from the attached .rar
- It will ask you a series of questions, hit "Y" each time and hit enter
- Then it will bring you to a diver installation wizzard
- Click next
- Click finish
- You have successfully installed ADB
2.Flashing PE1 Firmware:
First off this method does require PE1 firmware. So here's how to get your Samsung Galaxy S7 to PE1 firmware:
-You can get the PE1 firmware in the attached RAR file
1. Connect your Samsung to your computer via OEM micro-usb cable.
2. Power down you samsung
3. Once powered down, hold Volume Down, Power, and the Home Button all at the same time
4. You will get a blue screen that says warning, read the text and the press Volume Up to select "Continue"
5. Launch Odin as Administrator
6. In Odin click the button "AP"
7. Select the "AP_G930PVPU2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
8. In Odin now click the button "CP"
9. Select the "CP_G930PVPU2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
10. In Odin now click the button "CSC"
11. Select the "CSC_SPT_G930PSPT2APE1_CL7925126_QB9448520_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5" file
12. Then in Odin, press the botton that says "Start". Odin will begin flashing the PE1 firmware.
13. Once Finished, Odin should say "Pass", and your Samsung should then boot up to a first time setup procedure.
3.Before you Begin Rooting:
Once You have finished flashing PE1 firmware you should then download the following apps to your Samsung:
-Package Disabler Pro or EZ Package Disabler (both will do the job)
-Flash Fire
-Build Prop Editor
If you use Snapchat, now is the time to download, install, and login to the app
-Snapchat denies login to rooted andriod users, especially if Xposed Framework is installed.
4.Rooting:
Now that you have the pre-procedure done, go to the link directly below and start at "Here we go" for the rest of the rooting procedure instructions. Necessary files for colormedroid's precedure will also be in the attached RAR file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s7/how-to/sm-g930p-root-t3410604
Once you have finished rooting you may follow the next steps.
5.Installing Xposed Framework, Xposed APK, as well as a tether mod
-Go to the link below and click on the tab that says "CLICK TO HIDE CONTENT" under the header "INSTALL XPOSED"
-Follow psouza4's steps to Installing Xposed
-However I have attached a better APK for xposed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039
6.Installing Xposed Module X tether for free native tethering
1. Go into the Xposed app
2. Tap on the 3 dashes in the upper left corner
3. Tap on the tab that says "Download"
4. Search for the module "X Tether"
5. Tap on the X Tether module
6. Tap the tab that says "Version"
7. Tap "Download" on the newest version
8. Then go back to the panel that has the option "Modules"
9. Tap the check box next to the "X Tether" module to activate it
10. Reboot
11. Bear with me here is gets a little more complicated
12. No that Xtether is installed and activated, we are going to edit a data base file to be able to use the native mobile hotspot
13. Download SQLite Editor app from the playstore (it does cost money, and there are probably others that can do it but this worked for me) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.speedsoftware.sqleditor&hl=en
14. Open SQLite
15. Tap the tab that says "Files"
16. Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases
17. Then tap "telephony.db"
18. Then tap "carriers"
19. Look for the 2 lines that say "APN2 LTE internet" and "APN2 EHRPD internet"
20. Down those lines under "type" they both say "default, mms"
We will be changing it to say this
21. Tap on "default, mms" then tap the pencil in the upper right of SQLite. This will enable you to edit this setting.
22. Scroll down until you see the type "default, mms"
23. edit this to say ""default, mms, dun"
24. Tap save
25. Do this for both "APN2 LTE internet" and "APN2 EHRPD internet"
26. Exit SQLite and restart your phone
You can now enable the hotspot as if it were part of your service plan. If you go into to you settings>Hotspot and Tethering
Happy Tethering

Do you think this could also work on the sprint s7 edge(sm-g935p)? I would think i would have to just replace the stock pe1 firmware in your file with the stock pe1 firmware for the edge? Please let me know what you think. Awesome post by the way.

I see you are on a Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge, so your firmware files are different, however I have had no problem downgrading to PE1 using Odin. It is very simple and easy to do, and is the best failsafe when stuck in bootloops. Works 100% of the times if flashed PE1 back.
This process can be done on the Samsung Galaxy s7 Edge however you have to get the PE1 files specific to your phone here: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-galaxy-s7-edge-firmware

What Samsung Galaxy s7 variant are you on?
Is this limited to the SM-930P or will it also work on SM-930F/SM-930FD?

You can but it in download mode again and flash back to PJ2 . Im hearing of people having trouble downgrading from PJ2 but I haven't had a problem. Try flashing back to PJ2 using odin as a temporary fix for now!

I think I can answer my own question: it doesn't seem to work. If there ever is a No Knox root for 930F, it will probably come out of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/knox-exynos-root-method-via-engkernel-t3423438, and - unfortunately - it does not look like it will be any time soon. And if they are successful, it looks like it wont work for 930FD (one of the few instances, it seems, where there is a difference between 930F and 930FD...).
Ive downloaded the file for the Sprint S7 Edge but cannot extract the AP file. Ive downloaded the file around 6 times so far and always have the same issue. Is there anything special i=I'm supposed to do to extract it?

After unlocking bootloader, the first boot takes a while, 30min more or less. Anyway, I suggest you to follow this guide which is kept updated: https://forum.xda-developers.com/yotaphone-one/help/guide-everything-to-yotaphone2-t3547194

Thanks a lot.:good:
Excellent manual!
I have small comment:
Step 2 - It's better change Original yotaphone flasher on YotaFlasherReworked.zip - it's from that theme.
I have been saving this for a while because it can be a headache when you forget about it. Also this seems to stop at least one headache now that most of have TWRP.
Basically Amazon removed a permission from the platform.xml that allows apps to write to and be moved to external storage (sdcard) PROPERLY.
There is a couple of cons to this (isn't there always lol). When you uninstall an app, the data will persist in the external storage which means you have to delete it manually. This can be a headache if you forget about this and need to reflash stock. So make sure to format your card before doing that.
The second con is you have to make sure all of the toggles for Amazon's external storage settings are turned off. So if you have Amazon apps still installed, they're going to get lost. Just delete them, their data folders and sideload them from adb from somewhere like APK Mirror (some are in the play store).
Instructions:
1. With a root explorer, navigate to /system/etc/permissions and open platform.xml in the native text editor, or copy the file to your sdcard then to PC and open it in Notepad++.
2. Look for the following permission: WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and add the following line to the with the others, above sdcard_r:
Code:
<group gid="media_rw" />
3. Look for the permission WRITE_MEDIA_STORAGE and add the following line under media_rw:
Code:
<group gid="sdcard_rw" />
4. Save the file and reboot to recovery and wipe the cache. Reboot the device. If you have flash fire working, wipe the dalvik and cache through the app.
5. Now you have the ability to use nearly all of your available storage, without anything screaming at you every few minutes. Thank me by hitting the thumbs up button a million times and get rid of that bottle of aspirin.

TLDR instructions, thanks to pernodpepper
0. Create backup of your device (SmartSwitch)
1. Download .bin
2. Rename update.zip
3. Place file on SDCard
4. Go to recovery (No odin/download mode required)
5. Select Apply update from SDCard and choose update.zip
6. Profit
Detailed instructions along with multiple methods to install. Thanks to Evil_Smiley_za and @AhmedMomen
UPDATE:
-This thread will be for sharing tips and help and update.zip/.bin files (when/if available) for the OneUI 4.0 Android 12 Beta for the Galaxy Note 20 series (Unlocked/Exynos)
Installation Methods:
ADB-method:
1. Download SDK platform tools https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platform-tools
2. Extract the file in your desktop.
3. Inside the extracted folder put the update.zip file
4. Inside this folder, holding left shift, right click the mouse and select "open command prompt here". The command prompt will open.
5. Shutdown your phone and connect it to the pc
6. Holding Power and volume+ and enter into recovery mode.
7. Select "update via ADB". (scroll down using the volume buttons and select using the power button).
8. Connect the phone to a PC using an original samsung USB cable.
9. In the command prompt run the following command:
./adb devices
10. Wait to see that the daemon has started and that your device is found.
11. If you device is found, run the following command:
./adb sideload update.zip
SD-card method:
1. Download the bin file and rename it to update.zip (by going to file options on your pc you can select to view the file extensions. This makes the renaming process much easier and safer, and avoids renaming the file to update.zip.zip)
2. Copy it to the root directory of your SDcard.
3. Shut down your phone.
4. Connect any USB device to your device, AKG earphones could work, then press Power and volume+ buttons to get into recovery mode.
5. Using your volume keys navigate to "update via sdcard" and press power button to select it.
6. Again using volume keys navigate to the file "update.zip" and press power button to select it.
7. Update will start. Leave it till it completes installing. It will take some time.
8. Phone will reboot by itself and load android.
The update process will start. You will see a percentage counting. First it will verify, then patch etc. Do not move the cable, disconnect the phone or power off the PC.
Once the process is completed (it takes some time) the phone will boot itself, update the apps and log into your home screen.
There are two methods that you can use to get into recovery mode
Method 1:
1. Connect your phone to your PC (Make sure USB debugging is on).
2. Using ADB, enter the command ./adb reboot recovery
3. Wait a little and you should be in recovery mode.
Method 2:
1. Power off your device
2. Connect your device to a PC or use the AKG earphones.
3. Hold down Power+VolumeUp buttons and keep pressing them until you enter recovery mode.
This will not trip knox if done by the methods above
Don't install a beta unless you are fully aware what you are going into.
Don't install the beta if you want your phone to be stable, IT'S a BETA.
It's recommended to make a backup of your data before updating to the Android 12 Beta.
Important Notes:
-Rename the .bin file to update.zip in order to be able to flash it from recovery.
-A common mistake done by some people is that they see the file named update while its a WinRAR.zip file already, then they add another .zip making the name of the file update.zip.zip which will not be flashed successfully, So make sure you do it right.
-Updating to the beta is AT YOUR RISK, No one is responsible if anything goes wrong.
You will not receive OTAs again UNTIL you are on a firmware that gets released later for your original CSC, thats most likely not happening before the BETA is over.
Note: AngryPixel89 is my reddit alias.
