My Huawei p8 Lite has randomly stopped showing any WiFi networks in range wherever I am. For example if I was at home my laptop is connected to my home network and there are about 5 other networks visible nearby, yet my phone just has blank space under the available networks in WiFi settings and has stopped automatically connecting to my home network and others.
I have tried manually adding networks and this also doesn't work as when I click 'save' it returns to the Available Networks screen which says it is scanning then shows the same blank space.
Please help as I am using a lot of data because of this issue.

I have the same problem. Would be nice if you guys could find a solution for this.
I have the same problem and I couldn't fix it yet but you still can connect to available networks using this app

I have a strange problem with my HTC Trinity's WiFi. It connects to my home network ok, but after stand-by mode, when I press the power on button, it just keeps discovering other WiFi networks but does not connect to my preferred (home) network automatically.
If I click Start / Settings / Connections / WiFi, or go straight to comms manager then select the network and click connect, it connects ok to the network and stays connected until next stand-by, when the problem repeats. It is driving me crackers having to manually select my home wifi network everytime. I've searched the net and these (and other) forums for an answer without any luck.
I have the Orange SPV variant with WM5.
Please help.
88 views so far and not a single comment. Please someone tell me i'm not the only one experiencing this problem, otherwise i'll think i'm going mad!
All I want is for the device to remember the last wifi connection it had before going into standby, and connect to it. Telling me how many of my neighbors have security enabled connections doesn't help me.
On my knees in frustration begging a response.

I'm trying to connect to my wireless network but the signal is weak. I have to manually go to the WiFi section in settings where my network is shown as "available" with 2 bars. I then have to click on "connect" 2-3 times for it to connect. I was wondering if there was an application which would keep trying to connect until it connects without my intervention. I hope this exists.
Thanks for any help.

Have you tried configuring your network as "hidden"? For some reason, my home network sometimes does not show up. Since I have "ticked" the option stating "this is a hidden network", it will try until it finds it.
Hope it helps.
Thanks for the tip but it sees the network but doesn't connect. Is there a registry tweak or something?
For some reason I had the same simptoms, but since I do all the settings (incl WiFi) via a xml (or cab) file, that scenario never happened again.
You can try to do the same following hints from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=277727&page=4 or similar threads.

I have a X50V running WM6RC2 (Mag Lite's found on here) and have been very pleased. I have wireless internet here at my house that I use. Yesterday I went out of town and was trying to use the hotel's wifi but the signal was weak. I was able to get on once. Somewhere in all of that, now the only thing that shows up when I do a site scan is one hidden network. Before I did something, there were 6 wifi available (though some were secured)
Now, I come back home to my home network and when I scan I only see the same hidden network and not mine. I do have wireless turned on.

Hi,
In Wireless manager | Settings you can choose which networks are displayed. ( e.g 'All', 'Ad Hoc', 'Access Points only' , ....).
Cheers,
Dirk
"all" is chosen. My wireless here works for I am on my laptop.
Problem Solved...
I did a soft reset and all is fine again.
Hi. Have a recent problem that developed on my HD2. It happened after installing the mod that activates a task switcher when holding the send button. Could have happened sooner but I think I would've noticed...
Problem is: I have my HD2 connected to WiFi at home and it works perfect for web browsing and all, but, the moment I use other apps such as updating weather or browsing google maps or the Windows marketplace they use the 3G regardless of my WiFi being active and working.
I am on 1.48 stock ROM.
I have uninstalled the mod BTW and I use duttys task manager.
Please please help me someone...
doubt it has anything to do with that mod... i dont have any mods on and 50% of the time even tho i am in WiFi covered area with WiFi on it will start using 3G instead of checking for WiFi. Its extremely annoying and i cant understand that HTC didnt atleast give you a small manager wich would give you different options how to connect to internet once you are trying to connect...
Its not that I am in a WiFi zone. my WiFi is connected and I am browsing the web. It's.not that it is just choosing a connection, it completely ignores my WiFi on everything but the browser. And it only started happening today. Marketplace worked on WiFi yesterday.
Nevermind. I found the problem. Earlier today I set no WiFi network to be treated as a work network instead of a internet network. this lead to most apps thinking I am not connected to the internet.

Hi. My problem is more or less as described by NESO1234 above. WiFi at home is is connected, but browsing Internet is done through 3G (I guess - loading a page takes loong and the arrows indicating WiFi connection are not moving).
You mention network not set correct. Could you or someone give me a more spesific hunch (path...) on how to make WiFi beeing used?

Go to the WiFi connection place (where the Wifi switch is and it shows ur acess point underneath) go to Advanced > Change Network then select ur AP and make sure 'Connects to:' is set to 'The Internet'.
Hope it helps, it worked for me
Whenever adding a new wireless network, android seems to forget the network after disabling then re-enabling wifi. I am forced to manually connect to the network and enter the password each time. This also happens with open networks. The problem occurs on any wireless network, at home, work, public networks, etc.
Further inspection on the /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf file shows "disabled=1" added to the end of each network. You can find a screenshot here [imgur.com/KLXebEZ.png]
I've tried other suggestions here on the forums with no luck. This has been going on for weeks. Any help would be much appreciated.
