Hi guys,
I have a Galaxy S6 Edge +, on EE. The 6.0.1 update is not out yet so i am currently running 5.1.1.
I have tried to root my device a couple of times, first time seemed okay for 3 days but soft bricked my phone.
Today i re-tried but for some strange reason, no wifi passwords save and when i connect to wifi my phone reboots.
Ive done some research online and found a fix by editing one of the system files to fix the password saving on wifi.
However i am unable to find a solution to why my phone restarts whenever connecting to a wifi network, if i load the stock firmware onto my phone, all is working fine.
If anyone could guide me in the right direction or give me any help i would really appreciate it!
Thanks

I had a similar problem rooting my edge +
Easiest way is to go onto chainfires website and download the CF root that matches your phone and flash through odin...piece of cake
My galaxy S6 EDGE PLUS SM G928F is not remembering my wifi password what might be the problem

I purchased an AT&T GSM phone unlocked and I use Straightalk as my wireless carrier. I have rooted before and used the newest version of Odin. I downloaded the the proper file for root "G928A_Kernel_Root_5.1.1_Samfirm.net.tar.md5." My phone model Is SAMSUNG-SM-G928A. It's the one everyone else used. Odin flashed it fine. It passed and the phone restarted. Problem is the phone is not rooted, but I have the problems that come with the initial root. Wifi passwords don't save and the annoying message "Unauthorized actions have been detected". Since the phone is not rooted I can't fix these problems because I don't have permissions. My next step was just to flash the stock firmware but I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone help me either tell me how to truly root the phone (I re-flashed the file 3 times) or tell where I can download the stock Firmware? I called AT&T and they told me to call Best Buy and Best Buy can't help me.
Thanks

Android Version 5.1.1
Well today I was doing my root via Odin and used the auto root kernal that was provided for my phone, so I followed every step and it didn't work at all, besides the root not working I now got this problem on my wifi which you can solve via build.prop, the thing is that you need root to access this files as far as i'm concerned, there is no root for my phone else than the one I already tried, meaning I cannot fix my problem, I need help please!
Could someone help me unbrick my att s7 its in a bootloop. Thanks for your time.
So I was trying to put android n on my s7 att and it also got soft bricked, Two ways I got my working again
first
forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/g930uueu4api3-firmware-download-t3481159
that should work, if it doesnt
I flashed the
forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s7/how-to/root-s7-att-g930a-g935a-t3410538
g930a root file, in ap and boom it also worked, So try both. The second option is quicker.
I was trying to root my at&t s6 edge+ using Odin. As soon as the process completed, my phone froze on Samsung screen. Then I tried wiping cache and data but nothing worked. I downloaded few stock ROM for Odin but flashing keeps on failing. I read in some thread that new Samsung devices do not support downgrading. I went and checked my current build number and found that to be G928AUCS4CPK1. However, the firmware I was trying to flash were older version.
Has anyone experienced similar issue before? The main problem here is I cannot find the exact build number anywhere. I spent a lot of time searching and finally decided to post here.
Your valuable suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
hey man, you flashed an older version of the firmware? even if it wasnt bricked, your phone is essentially useless now. the efs is gone, meaning you cant make phonecalls or connect to wifi at all. sorry; your phone is bricked. perm.
download mode dosen`t work ?if so the only thing you can try is to use samsung kies to restore your phone but don`t know if that works
I done something similar to my standard S6 Edge the only difference was i was able to start it up ok and i thought everything was ok until i realised i had no reception. I so happened to notice my imei number was gone. I had no back ups of the partition that saved this info so i totally bricked my phone.
I did however find a website that would be able to do a work around ( for a fee of course) for it however it does question your morals as its essentially illegal in alot of countries. I dont want to post anything on here so if you want any info send me a PM.
Exact same thing happened to me... went to AT&T repair center but they didn't have the 'K1' firmware..
anyhow managed to find the latest firmware (gsm-firmware.com)... cost me $4, but the phone is up and running... I only flashed the AP file.. also used Odin 3.12.5..
Hey everyone,
I decided to try and root my galaxy s5 g900v that no longer has active cell data to unlock the bootloader so that I could update it to a newer version of android (if I can get it to android 10 that would be great) and I followed the instructions to root the phone on this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/testers-required-easier-root-method-t3561529 using the CID 15 method, and when I flashed the COMBINATION_VZW_FA44_G900VVRU2APA1_VZW2APA1_25726 56_REV00_user_mid_noship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 file and rebooted my phone the wifi suddenly wouldn't authenticate anymore.
I've done it a few times and one of those times the wifi worked but I couldn't get the OS to update, the rest of the times the wifi didn't work (but I managed to update it to android 9 but I couldn't find a way to fix the wifi).
I've tried a factory reset a few times now and it still doesn't connect and I don't have a non-rooted version to restore too because the phone isn't really that important to me at this point since it's an old backup.
Does anyone have advice on how I can successfully root the phone and update it so that the wifi actually works?
Thanks in advanced
