So I replaced the mic board on my oneplus and now I have to press the home sensor asif its a button to get it to do anything. I never had this before I replaced the mic board.
Is there anything I can do to help it out?
Hm this looks like while you have been palying with the HW probably the touch sensor is not correctly connected to MB. I would suggest to reseat the cables to MB.

Is there a better replacement board about or do I just have to live with it now?
I thought it could be a grounding issue, cheers

Hello guys. I need high definition photos of HTC HD2 Motherboard. I need to check one SMD part on motherboard because I think I accidentally broke one part on it. It seems like there is one missing part but I am not sure. So if anybody can upload really high def photo of motherboard it will be great. I searched google and forum here but its not enough to zoom in on that place.
This is what I had laying around

Nice one wouternet but can you also take the picture of the other side of the board? But thank you anyway i will need both sides of that board

It would be easier if you said what part your looking for
Don't mind the black stuff, I used a marker to mark this bricked mainboard

i am sending a pic of that place. its a small smd probably but i am not sure . the location of that part or better say place is very near to the edge of board it is the last solder point to the 3 gold connect points i am not sure for what they are used for. probably for extended battery? i just need to know if there is som smd part or not. because it looks suspicios on my board and i think that this is why main speaker is not working on my hd2 since i disassembled hd2 to repair vol buttons. flex cables are ok i already checked them because i remember when i bought phone the sound was not working because main flex was not properly pluged in on main board. i was very careful whem i was dis and assembling phone . i dont understand why aound is no longer working.
Nah there is nothing there. At least nothing that can break off easily. I'm sure the problem is somewhere else.
Is it the earpiece not making sound or is it the speaker on the back?

yep it is back speaker that is not working. I dunno what cause that problem with no sound

Well the problem should be near the GPS board... Or in the rear shell....
check this: (No need to take the speaker out) http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-HTC-HD2-PB81120-Phone-Speaker/5605/2
And this is where it connects: http://guide-images.ifixit.net/igi/IKePYgHa1GxX1vZF.huge
It's left from the camera, between the Camera module and the where the white wire connects to the board. There is should touch the 2 golden squares.

i will check that place near gps. Or maybe the speaker is broken. I will try another one if that help. I will let you know later when i fix it. Thank you wouternet.

Well you was right about the place near GPS where speaker is connected to the phone. The problem was there. For some reason one of the golden square dont work anymore lol. Weird huh. So the solution I have found out was to connect that non-working golden square to the little golden O point between those 2 golden squares.
Here is a picture
Selected red places are the points that are working.
So i connected non working golden square to the O point between those two golden squares with solder and after that woalaa. Speaker is working.
I still dunno why this golden square caused the problem because it looked like it is solidly attached to the board. But anyway speaker is working and I feel peacefully .
I will edit this thread as a guide if somebody needs it. I also fixed camera flash light because everybody who dissasembled HD2 know that cable from camera flash light connected to the mainboard is very fragile and it can be easily torn out of the connector and if you want to put it back into the connector it is really painfull and not always work so I decided to solder it to the board on camera flash light.
Here is a picture how I did it.
I connected those coloured cables using solder to the golden O points on camera flash light board as it is shown on the picture. Woalla again it works. Its free if you have soldering tools and some experience with soldering .
Thanks so much for sharing your solution.
Exactly this hint has given the life back to my phones speaker.
I used very thin copper wire to connect the 2 points.

The music isnt actually skipping. I m afraid your hd2 female 3.5 socket has become loose from the circuit board. And the actual skipping you are experiencing is because when the socket moves, it makes a short circuit which the board recognizes as an INPUT command to PLAY / PAUSE / NEXT / PREVIOUS. and when it cant decide which is which, you have the player restoring and finally experience the skip..
I have covered a lot of technical issues myself around the hd2 including loosened wifi / gps coaxial cables that instantly fix when remounted securely. volume rocker affected by broken flex cable. and now m awaiting the arrival of my hardware buttons flex cable as the power button inside has worn out.
hope i gave you some help.

So could it be solved, if you solder the part back onto the pbc ?
As many have noticed Asus left the mount for a rear facing camera inside the nexus 7 even though they later took the camera out. My question is, what would it take to install a camera into that mount and get it to run? My guess is all it would take is the right camera and a connector that could be installed into the board beside the camera mount where the old connector was. Of course a hole would need to be cut into the back cover which may interfere with the nfc antenna. Or would it? Would the firmware of the device need to be messed with, or would the camera work with any camera app like normal? If you have any ideas on how this could be done please reply. I would like to try this but it may be more difficult than I'm thinking.
I haven't taken much time to look at the inside but I plan to put some LEDs between the speakers so it will glow. So I'll look tomorrow but I don't think there is a place to connect the camera.
As far as the antenna, if your careful enough you could lift it up and move it. And just solder a wire on it to run to the connectors
But this is if you could find a camera and get it to work

I believe there is a spot on the right side of the mount where a connector was supposed to be soldered in but was left out. I wonder if Google or Asus would tell us where to get the connector they originally planned to put in that spot. I doubt it.

Yea, it's not really worth it. He parts would be expensive
Hense why they left it out, to make it cheaper

Replacement camera modules are surprisingly cheap. From $10- $40ish. You would just need to find one with the same connector and many seem to have one or an other connector. So if you could find the connector and attach it to the board finding a camera to connect to it may not be too difficult.
Hey fellow enthusiasts, I just realised that whenever I tapped on my phone, for example when I tap on the back of my phone, it kinda vibrates. anyone facing this issue?

There is a haptic feed back when you press softkeys. you might be pushing them.

When you mean vibration. Do you mean in your pocket? If you get the vibration/boom feeling then that the vibrating motor. Hope this helps.

hey guys, its not the haptic feedback. its like it somehow 'vibrates' when I tapped it on the back of my phone.
It hasn't occured to you that it might be something to do with this at all?

it doesn't really vibrate but it kinda feels like its moving when tapped with your nails.
Yeah I have the same feeling, like its on "haptic Vibro" but thats not enabled, yet still feels like a slighter Vibrate when hitting some keys?
I think I know what he means...
Its not a feedback from the vibrator at all -- I sometimes tap on my Note when I'm listening to music, like I'm playing a drum solo with my fingers
There is a faint vibration when I do that.
I always assumed it was just one of the sensors vibrating in response to my enthusiastic taps. Who knows, the shock sensor, the vibrator itself?
Anyway, I don't think its anything wrong or broken.
I don't think there is a problem... it happened with my note 2, but always worked well and flawlessly
I get it occasionally and gave up with it.

Hi!
A lady friend of mine has this problem on a GSIII.
She broke her screen and since i had a GSIII with dead mainboard i moved her mainboard to the other phone. Main camera & all.
The phone now works perfectly but has accuired the "vibrate when tapping" issue.
Personally i´d say that the vibrating camera module is a solid bet. Production tolerances might be a little on the loose side in the new camera/screenframe combo and there is a short unsupported flex cable from main board to camera module.
If i understand this particular issue correctly you dropped your phone a while back. This just might have knocked the camera module a bit around so it now sits a smidgeon more loosely in the camera bay.
If it really bothers you, a solution could be to disassemble your phone and try thightening the tolerances in the camera mount by adding small pieces of e.g. sticky tape on sides or bottom. If nothing else you´d be able to confirm or discard the camera module as the "culprit".
Personally though i wouldn´t worry about it, as long as everything hums along nicely with this particular handset.

Elo

hello! thanks for your long reply, this happened before I dropped my device, so I reckon it isn't because of the drop! it works flawlessly, but do you think I should take it over to Samsung? or is it not an issue?

About the drop - oh yeah, you stated that earlier, my bad.
I´d leave it alone.
If the phone is still under warranty you could try taking it to a service center but then you´ll have to demonstrate there is an issue.
As everything works as it should that might be easier said than done.

I can find every part except this one and i dont know its exact function .
The flat cable that is above the camera in this picture can anyone list the part name so i can order another since i bent this one creasing it as you can see and would rather not have to take the phone back apart once i put it together this time.

It's the "frame" usually sold with the display assembly. The frame is the structural part that holds everything together.

No bro the flat cable thats above the camera. maybe i should say to the left of the camera in the picture since the picture is sideways
that little silver box on the cable is a microphone, so it would be a microphone cable or "flex" as its called. search ebay for "v20 microphone flex"
