Soo i need help...
Im from portugal , so I need a rom/firmware that works on my country... help pls guys

If you're still able to get into Download Mode, the device is soft-bricked. As to firmware, are you using Optimus, Vodafone, or a smaller carrier?

tmn , its the most used in portugal but the roms didnt work as I said

Nevertheless, you asked for a ROM. Your ROM is here. Assuming you can get into download mode, make sure you're using the original cable and the cable is directly connected to the PC (i.e. not using a hub). Post any error messages Odin generates.

Awnser #2
So the first rom the 9505XXUHOJ5_I9505TMNHOJ1_TMN , i've already tried , and the error that odin gave was, nand writ and the fail.
Ill try to install the 4.2.2 version to see if it works .

I've tried the I9505XXUBMF8_I9505TMNBMF1_TMN/ rom , 4.2.2 version from the site that u give to me, and nand writ and fail again... (((

Humor me.
Enter Download Mode and read off the model number given there. I want to confirm you don't have a Frankenphone before recommending you bring the phone to a Samsung service center to have it looked at.

I'm mad
Thx for your help m8

Take it in for service. If none of the stock ROMs will install you have a hardware issue.

When flashing a stock ROM, you should flash the same or newer firmware to the phone.
Are you using the original Samsung cable to flash the ROM? What errors are you getting in Odin?

whats is the diference between a rom or a firmware?
No, im using a regular cable... the pc detects it so there's no problem I guess...

Sorry about the confusion. Firmware and rom and pretty much the same thing.
Even though my s4 and s3 were detected with any old sub cable I had on hand, I could only flash the stock rom in Odin with an original Samsung cable. I would always get put errors without the Samsung cable.

@RubenPimenta: Sometimes yes, sometimes no. You should be using the original cable, rather than an aftermarket one.

oK ill try with the original cable and I'll post the result ...
but until now the error its always the same... nand writ fail

Same results...

help guys

STILL NEED HELP! Im using windows xp there is some problem with dat?

You should be on Windows 7 at least. Try another computer, but if that doesn't work, follow my advice in post #9.

You are in the wrong forum. This one is for the S4 Active and its European counterpart. Sounds like you have a regular S4 as we cannot yet flash ROMs on our S4 Active phones.

We need to know exactly what you've done to the phone in the order you've done it - firmware which was originally on the phone, any OTA updates, exactly what you flashed/in what order, what happened to the phone that made you need to Odin flash it.
Little details will be important so far as getting your phone up & running as soon as possible goes, I.E the less details you give the longer it's going to take for that to happen

hi, is a friend phone, he flashes with odin to install 4.3 custom(i don't know what custom he use) it fails and he brick the phone, can't no enter in recovery and can't enter in download mode, also the phone no power on, when he let me the phone for repair. Know i can enter in download mode.
First of all i try to flash a new rom custom but it says no pit partition. Then i download from sammobile a stock rom of vodafone and the pit file for the S4 i9505, i flash it with pit and the stock official rom of the terminal (re-partition mark,f.reset time mark, and autoreebot mark). Odin end and say pass. but when i try to power on the phone go again into a brick (phone, can't no enter in recovery and can't enter in download mode, also the phone no power on). i use odin 3.07 , 3.09 and 1.85 i got this versions and i try some configurations like unmark re-partition,and unmark autoreboot with the same problem. (He turn un qualcome mode). i also try to install a new recovery and the same syntoms. also when i flash any thing the phone goes to the same status all ok but no power on, no recovery and no download mode.
any ideas???

boot screen kernel is not seandroid enforcing

hello guys
i have i9505 here when it boots it shows in top left corner this massage in red and yello and it just stuck at that massage with galaxy s4 logo
(red) boot screen kernel is not seandroid enforcing
(yello ) set warranty bit kernel
TBH with you guys i Don't know what happened with this phone beside someone tried to flash it with a rom and it went wrong
and what do you think about this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2594483 did anyone try it and what happened to phone ??
how do i know phone region ?? CSC_config_LSB
a friend of me said i need Z3x samsung tool box to fix it is that a box or a program that i can download ??
I'm sorry to bother you
That method should work
Edit: and no you don't need any toolbox
thank you another question how do i know My Phone CSC or region or any firmware will be ok ??
I honestly don't know, for my model I just download the firmware for it and flash it but it may be different for the i9505.. I would think you download the firmware for your country/carrier if available from sammobile.com and flash it through Odin.. There may be a guide for this try searching the forums
on which model you tried this ?? and how did it go , did work ??
I didn't have the same problem but I know this solution works, it fixes many problems.. I have M919 USA model
ok i will try it nothing to lose and About Z3x do you really think I don't need it , because my friend said its only solution for this problem !
Yeah I'm pretty sure you don't, as long as it turns on you shouldn't need it for the most part
i tried that on 1st attempt it failed however in 2nd attempt odin doesn't detect phone ??
i did try it 3 times i only got a firmware upgrade enncoutered an issue please select recovery mode in kies and try again !! AND kies is not connecting the Phone.
Uninstall kies, reboot and try again
did that nothing changed
Try changing usb ports and try every last available port, if that doesn't work try reinstalling drivers
did it all and nothing changed
will downgrading help ??

Nope.. Can you try a different computer?
Edit: what version of Odin are you using? Try a different version, or newest if you don't already have it
It's just a normal message when you use a custom kernel. A custom kernel is always included in a custom rom. So nothing to worry about.
You can do 2 things:
1. Flash a custom recovery (if you don't already have on), flash the custom rom you want.
2. Flash one of the latest stock roms. The rom from the thread you posted is outdated and can't be flashed to your phone if you have the latest bootloader.
They are right, I actually thought about suggesting that but for some reason I thought you didn't have custom recovery, if you do you can just flash a ROM without having to worry about connecting to Odin
sorry for late respond i will try to flash recovery and see if i can boot to into it

[Q] How to install stock ROM on I9505

Hi,
Currently there is not much on the phone, at least nothing to start up. I had CM, but had to go back so I tried the guide posted on this forum. With little success. So now im not sure where I stand as the phone is in a state without a ROM. When I try to start up normally i get "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again."
Anyone can help me with installing fresh stock Samsung ROM?
Thanks in advance!
Sincerely,
Tho_kva2
Which was your last stock rom bevor you installed cm?
And which stock rom did you try to flash after cm?
Did they had the same product key?
Was the flashing process successful or did odin say "fail"?
And how is your current knox status? 0x1?
Send from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
Not sure, but my phone was up to date with the latest update from Samsung.
I first tried to use "Norway (telenor)" first as, and when that failed I tried "Norway 4.4.2" Both found in the second post of the Guide.
Product key?
Odin said Fail. I tried multiple times with different odin versions and with PIT file.
Is it the "Knox warranty void" is so 0x1
And the latest original firmware running on your phone was it a Norway (telenor) firmware?
With product key i meant the csc.
The old firmware and the one you want to flash now have to have the same csc, i guess.
You can also flash a custom recovery and try to wipe and then flash again.
Send from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
I'm not sure what the original firmware was, but it was the stock firmware i got with the phone when i bought it + updates.
CSC is TEN (Norway)
I do not know how to do a custom recovery, im a total noob on this subject of flashing and modding phones. Got any kind of guide or directrions to point me in? Sorry for not knowing squat, but hope you or someone else here can help me!
Hi,
okay, before you flash a recovery, you can try to flash another firmware but it have to be android 4.4.2 norway TEN
Did you also follow this note here?
"Odin troubleshooting:*If Odin accidentally gives you "fail" try the following:
- Repeat procedure.
- Make sure that all actions of Kies are disabled from task manager.
- Change usb port.
- Try another usb cable (make sure it is the original).
- Try another Odin version.
- Uninstall and re-install driver.
- Use pit file.
- Try another computer."
When odin will continue failing then try this.
http://www.usp-forum.de/downloads.php?do=file&id=1531
This is a 4 part open Europe firmware. Try to flash it...First time without pit, when odin failed try with pit...
If nothing helped, then you can install a custom recovery.
You once installed a recovery, before you flashed CM, remember?
But I will look for a guide and the right files.
Send from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
It worked with the European version! Cheers mate Oh, it was without the pit.
Atleast android is installed hehe. but keyboard keeps crashing so cant type anything, and I cant turn on wifi; I get "Security notice, your device's security has blocked an action that is not permitted. No further action is required" -Knox Notification Manager.?
Oh and I got no SIM card to try at the phone atm. will get it later
So waht should be the next step?
Did you rooted this firmware already?
Try to fullwipe again. I thought this message only pops up, when the devise is rooted and Knox still not deleted... mysterious
Send from my Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
I did not root it. I will try to wipe
Edit:
****ed up. Tried flashing the same again, and it failed lol.. so now im back to where I was before the phone "worked" again.
So I think I should get a recovery. Any thought?
Lol that's crazy. Also tried 4 part with pit?
And when you flash a Norway firmware again? Maybe it will work now, i don't know what's going on there
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397108
This is CWM recovery for i9505, you have to flash the .tar file with odin in PDA or AP. It's your choice, whether you install the touch or non touch version.
Edit: anything new?

Need help on unfamiliar error screen. Image provided.

Just got the Note3 from a online seller who seems to be legit but when the phone was received via the mail, it didn't work as expected.
I've had some experience with android ROMs and rooting but those are mostly for the other phones, this is the first Samsung phone i got. Could you guys help and advise what to do to resolve this error?
I've actually downloaded Kies3 and use the emergency recover thing, but most of the times it couldn't detect the phone connection.
And on the rare occasion that it does detect something, it says that the model is incompatible with Kies3. Tried it with the old Kies too, but didn't work as well!
UPDATE <21_03_2015><16_54_09_524>____________________________________________________________
I just tried flashing lollipop from http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/finally-official-5-0-firmware-galaxy-t3029557
It didn't work, with and without the PIT file.
Before flashing
first_flash_no_pit
first_boot_after_first_flash
Second_flash_no_pit
3rd_flash_with_pit
I think that this error appears when a ROM isn't flashed properly to the device. So a possible solution might be a factory reset in recovery and a clean ROM flash with Odin. You just need to download a ROM for your device model - SM-N9005 from sammobile or samsung-updates.

Download an official firmware from sammobile and use odin to flash. It's all on their site

Is Odin a entirely different piece of software to kies?
Also would you this to be soft brick and reason to demand for compensation from the seller?

Yes this appears when a rom isn't flashed properly, Or the user has manually soft bricked the device.

I wouldn't take this advice as you bought a phone that is soft bricked with knox tripped (0x1)
try and return it before you attempt to fix it.

It looks like your knox is 0x1 and the system status is 'custom' but i can't really tell as the quality of the pictures isn't good enough.
This means that the phone has been used before and rooted, then a wrong flash or simply just deleting a few system files so it doesn't boot to get that screen to show up instead.
If there is nothing wrong with the hardware, Odin should fix this easily.. but i wouldn't trust it as your imei could of been changed.. many things could of been tampered with.
Also you mention that kies doesn't detect the phone properly, only sometimes. This could be your pc but it is likely a hardware problem with the phone judging by how you recieved it with knox tripped (0x1).
As it has been sold in this condition i can only assume that it has been tampered with. Why else would the seller sell a soft bricked device ?
Was it advertised as new or used?
Return it and get your money back as soon as possible is all i can suggest, good luck.
1. If its possible for him to return to the seller then yes but he can't to samsung. Due to knox being tripped. If he does its just basically a 50/50 chance
2. This nothing to do with soft brick. Such thing as a soft brick doesn't really exist.
3. Using odin to flash any official firmware. Is not bad advice.

The seller is not responding to my questions, so I think the next best bet to attempt and fix it myself. Am I right to think that flashing an official firmware is the best option? What could go wrong if the imei have been changed?
Also, you just got me curious about the knox thing. Where do you suggest I look at for a comprehensive elaboration of the error codes?

Flashing firmwate from sammobile will not trigger knox so as suggested earlier download and flash a firmware for your phone

This is a softbrick, if the hardware is fine then you should be able to fix it in 10mins by flashing a stock rom, but as the seller has sold it in this state then i assume it is softbricked for a reason so you can't test the device for example.

If the seller is not responding, then it points to them tampering with the device before selling it. Where did you buy it from, i would ring your bank as soon as possible.
Download the latest n9005 rom from sammobile and flash it through odin if you want to try and fix it, shouldn't really matter what csc as your knox is already tripped anyway so you can't recieve OTA updates or warranty from samsung anymore, mine is a BTU device but i have used many XEO roms.
If the phone isn't connecting to the computer properly like you say, then it's probably best to leave it. As this could result in the connection failing when it is flashing the bootloader or something. But if it works fine, then there should be no problems.
Here is something you could try, start up odin (i use v3.09), close all processes relating to kies, boot the device into download mode, that screen you provided pictures of. Plug the phone in and wait a few minutes to check the connection is stable, move the cable around to make sure the socket and cable are okay. You will see it come up on the top left in odin after windows has installed the drivers.
If this all works fine then flashing a stock rom should fix the device if the hardware is okay.
Just a quick question. From what site did you buy the phone and how did you pay for the phone?

1. Try flashing the new bootloader and modem first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/odin-flashable-lollipop-bootloader-t3058101
2. If flashing modem and bootloader succeeded, try flashing the whole firmware again.
From what I learned from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47287747#post47287747 thread, "invalid ext4 image" errors occur when bootloader is wrong.
Actually, do you have any info with what firmware was this phone last? I think I might have encountered another thread (don't remember it, though) which says that these exact problems occur when trying to upgrade from Jelly Bean 4.3 to Lollipop directly.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try after a little more research.
I have no idea what the phone was before, or what the seller did to it since he's just not responding anymore.
So I tried flashing the new bootloader as suggested, it seem to have worked to some extent, but then I screw it up again by pulling out the cable before seeing "PASS!". What now?

From what I can see from you ODIN log, ODIN has "done its thing"
If you did not uncheck the auto reboot tab, the phone should now be rebooting.
And bootloader and Modem should be updated when its booted up.
Are you still stuck at the "Samsung GALAXY Note3 SM-9005" screen ?

I'm still stuck on the "Samsung GALAXY Note3 SM-9005" screen. However I do think that the "hlte_lollipop_bootloader_modem.tar.md5" has "done its thing". I was previously unable to get to the recovery, but I was able to get to this <3e>recovery after flashing.
Also managed to see some logs of "i'm not sure what it is" before the phone went blank. I presume its due to battery going flat.
Later, I tried putting TWRP on it. Starting with "twrp-2.8.3.0-hlte-4.3.img.tar". But being a novice odin user I mistakenly unpluged the phone when odin is showing "RESET!". Then I tried going into recovery using VOLUP+HOME+POWER, and got this screen instead. I'm not sure if removing the phone before "PASS!" in odin could have caused this? Subsequently I tried flashing "twrp-2.7.0.3-hlte-4.3.img.tar" and
"twrp-2.7.2.0-hlte-4.3.img.tar", which resulted in the same error screen about SEANDROID.
I also noticed it increased my KNOX counter?
This is before and after.
Next I tried flashing ""hlte_lollipop_bootloader_modem.tar.md5" again hoping it would fix it. It didnt work. Silly me, this flash does not have a recovery image in it does it?
Anyway, now I dont have a working recover and is still stuck on the "Samsung GALAXY Note3 SM-9005". Thankfully odin mode still work. What should I do next? Please see this thread below for a little background to my problem. Thank you.

HORRY SHET!!
I think my phone is asian! I just flashed the latest taiwan firmware released (N9005ZSUGOC3_N9005OZSGOC3_BRI) after flashing the new bootloader and everything works now!
I'm not sure what actually made it work since this is the first taiwan firmware I tried (its all XEO and BOB previously), but big thanks to everyone who helped!

Where to start ?....soft bricked S4.... unknow delaer/firmware :-[

Hi folks!!!
I know is very annoying this question....
But already look in a lot of forums in XDA, but without luck....
So I first start with my background about restoring and flashing devices.....
MY first flashing device was a Galaxy S1 with Cyanogenmod.
Later a flash 1 Galaxy Young, and after I fixed a different and default random soft bricked Galaxy Young.
My last flashed device was a S5 with LineageOS 3/4 months ago....
Im did so installing CWM when was possible, using Odin , or ADB....from Linux and W$.....
Until I get lost my last phone Galaxy S5...
So I had to buy a 2° hand phone quickly....he was working OK... for a while ....the time has passed and become more and more slowly....so I decided to make a reset factory .......very BAD IDEA... I didn't take build information....just the model...GT-I9500....
The same info appears in the Odin download Mode....
But there is no tag with SN, and IMEI neither on the back... :'-(
So I get stuck in the Download mode ...but there IS NOT TAG about ODIN mode in this screen.....at least if
unplug the battery, and restart the phone holding PWR+HOME+VOL. DOWN .
[ EDIT ]
Trying to flash stock firmware with Kies ( who request a valid SN, what I take from web ) in the next models
GT-I9505
GT-I9500
give me this message ( in spanish =) ) ==> "este modelo no admite la inicializaciòn" , which means " this model cannot be initialized" .
[ end EDIT ]
I also tried smash (softly...covering with a canvas ) the power button...but without luck...
Seems like the phone is factory locked..... what I had read may be by AT&T or Verizon....any way to know which dealer?
Any idea or recomendation where to start ???
Its ( maybe ) JTAG cable the ONLY way/solution to fix this, or even this is NOT a solution...?
I will waiting for your answers....
TIA
PS: sorry if I made some mistakes with the english

Hello Rhoban, and thanks for your reply!!!!
and YES, Odin recognize the phone, the flash result is PASS, but the phone continues stucked on the same "Download" screen...
Because I dont have SN and IMEI neither, I dont know which ROM to flash..
After tryed to reset factory whithout luck, I tried to flash lineage, without any result.
Also because I cant unlock bootloader, I supposed to the phone was from Verizon or AT&T.
I tried to flash this ROMS's , setting the image on AP field from Odin
Verizon
I545VRUAME7_I545VZWAME7_I545VRUAME7_HOME.tar.md5
I545VRUDMI1_I545VZWDMI1_I545VRUDMI1_HOME.tar.md5
From doidview ==> I545VRUGOC1_I545VZWGOC1_I545VRUGOC1_HOME.tar.md5
also i tried to flash the next PIT files and same result...nothing changed
SCH-I545.pit
SGS-I337_16GB.pit
adonis.pit
an this bootchain and bootloaders setting up on BL tab:
I545_OC1_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5
NB1-Boot.tar.md5
VRALEC.bootchain.tar.md5
From droidviews.com ==>
I545_NC5_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5
I545_NG6_Stock_Kernel.tar.md5
I know all above is a mess , but the list is the most detailed I can :silly:
thanks again!!!!
PS: I want to put the source link where I take the kernel images and ROM's , but because I'm newbie
( --- ALL new users prevented from posting outside links in their messages. ----), I can't

Hi, the same download screen before you started flashing? Do you have "no reboot" ticked? (Heimdall user sorry) After pass just restart the phone and wait 10 min or so.
Also because I cant unlock bootloader, I supposed to the phone was from Verizon or AT&T.

Did you have a backup? Flashing the wrong pit file might hardbrick your phone. I guess the above where blocked bij Odin (Lucky you).
In short:
Connect your phone in download mode> open Odin> click PDA or AP > Select the stock firmware > start.
You mentioned your device being a GT-I9500, but the ROMs you said you have downloaded are for I545 and I337, both of which are Snapdragon models. The GT-I9500 is the Exynos model.
So that may be your problem.
Thanks LexHimself for your advices! I had backed up already the contacts and pics.
and thanks Rhoban ....for you suggest I have to start again from the beggining, looking for the rigth ROM for my device... so thanks for put spot on the processor model !!!!
So I gonna start again, looking for the right ROMS...
I will post as soon has news about flashing Exynos rom´s....
thanks guys!!!
[SOLVED] !!!!
Hello guys!!!!
As Rhoban point me, I have to look for the right recover image ,and ROM for my phone GT-I9500, with Exynos processor, who has code JA3G, so with that code I can address well .
So I download this recovery image "philz_touch_6.12.8-i9500.tar.md5", and after install, I download and install the right LineageOS ROM for my system.....
but this would not have happened, if I would started for look for the processor model as FIRST STEP...
so THANKS SO MUCH RHOBAN, and thanks LexHimself for your advices!!!!
??????
Cheers!!!!
