Hello there, I've been trying make trusted voice work but it doesn't. When I say OK Google (screen is locked & off) google search appears and asks me what to search. When I say something it asks me to enter my pattern password and unlock it manually. Anyone knows the solution?
I'm running CM 13 6.0 in LG D802
Thank you for the help in advance.
Still have the problem
Okay somehow it's solved, here's what I did :
Make sure trusted voice and every screen setting is on
Switch to Google Launcher instead of CM's one
Unlock once with it, then switch to CM again and it all works smooth.
I hope this helps :^)

Hey guys
I like the moto voice trick but I find google app voice commands to be more responsive and especiallly working better offline I mean for exemple I wasn't able to set alarm offline in moto app while I could in google app
But "Ok google" won't work while the screen is locked so is there anyway to make it work while device is locked or to make moto app work better offline?? Thx in advance
the option is built into settinga to make google now work at the lock screen. If you meant screen off, googling for ok google screen off and installing the first result (the app) gets you there
I'm on 7.1.1 and tried to turn on "always on voice",so it would work even with the screen off, but the option keeps turning itself back off. Any one else have this problem? It worked before. I dont know if its just broken or if there is a setting that I need to change somewhere.
I tried turning on Trusted Voice too with no luck
Same for me
I am having the same issue. Close to doing a full reset of phone to see if that works.
same here. i did a reboot a couple times, and then before it could turn itself off, i retrained my voice model. that's been able to fix it a couple times, but other than that, idk. maybe try clearing the cache/app data.
does clearing the google app data clear the data just from my phone, or from my google account too? i wouldn't want to accidentally wipe stuff from my google account when i only want to reset the app.
"okay google" detection gets fix, once you revert to google now and train the voice model and again revert to the google assistant.
Heres exactly what i did.
1. Enolled in the google app beta (you do this by going in to the playstore, browsing to the google app screen, scrolling down and select i'm in for beta esting)
2. Added the "ro.opa.eligible_device=true" line to the build.prop
-changed product model to Pixel XlL
3.cleared the app data of the google app. Go to settings >apps >google app > manage storage > clear all data and click ok.
4.rebooted and waited a few minutes.
Presssand hold the home button the google assistant comes up, but the train voice screen continiously comes up when you say "okay google" so..
5. Go the build.prop again
-delete the "ro.opa.eligible_device=true" line
-renamed the product model to what ever it was before
Save and reboot.
6. Once it reboots you should have google now again, go to settings of the google app, go in to "okay google detection" tap always on and train your voice model.
7. Go in to build.prop again add "ro.opa.eligible_device=true" line
Change the product model to Pixel XL.
Save and reboot
DONE ! (Once you reboot, i would suggest waiting 5 minutes so itagain recognises the build prop changes) it should now trigger the assistant when you say okay google.
I am using nexus 6 with stock rom rooted btw.
What I tried, although it may not work for everyone and I have only just completed the following steps so I am not too sure if this will 'stick'
From the setting menu I noticed at the very top a suggestion to train my voice (I think the beta update to 7.1.1 deleted my trained voice), so in my case when I was trying to set my OK Google to always on it was switching off because my 'trained voice ' was not present.
I have just tried deleting and retraining my voice with the 'OK Google' buzzword and it worked
Hopefully this may be the case for most here
As soon as you toggle "always on" quickly select "retrain voice". Then it will stay on.
Ok so I posted this in another thread. I made a zip file that works on both of my phones. It's worked for a few other and a few people it has not worked for, I don't know if it has something to do with the GAaaps they are on, but if anyone would like to give it a try here is the link. http://www.mediafire.com/file/d58899gjk3w3zbx/HotwordEnrollment.zip Be sure to with the DATA from the OK Google Enrollment you may want to wipe the DATA from the Google App also, reboot then flash with TWRP.
Just retrain your voice model and should work again!

What vendor img are you using.7.1.1 or 7.0
I am trying to setup OK Google so I can say OK Google while my phone is off and locked.
Is there anyway to make this work?
I know it works with Moto Voice but I want it to work with OK Google. I am rooted and have Xposed installed.
Some Google searching turned up no results
https://productforums.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/websearch/59Xf7mt-FQA
In the following rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7...-resurrection-remix-os-nougat-t3528861/page57
There is a bug within the OK google flow. The first time you you say OK google and set it up (or by just going into the settings and doing it) it looks fine until you go to use it.
After you set up, when you say "OK Google", it brings up the set up again. When you try to run the set up it detects you saying ok google as part of the set up bringing up ANOTHER set up prompt..and then another...and another, I think you get the point.
So OK google is just broken
I would like to reply to this in the forum post but I don't have enough post creds apparently >.>
That's a bug with Google Assisstant on every non-Pixel phone
Is there a way to disable the assistant while still getting OK google to work?
im on beta 5 xda/rom (s7 edge 935f),how should i install this,i dont even know which one is the rom, please tell me as simple as u can, cause i did install beta 5 via twrp so..i know the basics.
try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=choplabalagun.blogspot.com.chopassistant
That app seems to work, the voice training still comes up for about a second but its much better than not having it at all!
Hopefully this bug gets fixed soon.
Has anyone managed to get Assistant to work? I'm in the UK. I read on one of the OnePlus community forums that you need to change device language to English (USA), which I've done. Still no Assisstant. Anyone managed to get it to work/have any ideas?
It is only google now, not google assistant
I needed to clear all data after changing language to English (USA). But I've got it working now.
Here's YouTube video showing steps to setup Google Assistant on OP5. https://youtu.be/-bE8ORPID3U
Sent from my Pixel XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Ok Google

After you got it working, did you have any issues in retraining your voice. I have a problem where it appears to be listening for me to say Ok Google 3 times but never recognises anything.?

Thanks for replying. Must be in if the unlucky ones.
i changed to English US, got google assistant started up, then changed the language back to English UK.
google does have issues properly understanding you with the wrong accent from my experience.
I am pretty sure I have google assistant

Doesn't work for me either. I have set the language to English USA. Tried to clear Google app cache and data to no avail.

I got Google Assistant working by following the instructions from the YouTube video in this thread's post #4. All was fine for a while and then GA no longer worked sometime after I applied one of the OTA's. I can't say that was the cause but the timing was coincidental. GA seemed to react but not fully engage. I tried a lot of things including re-training the "OK Google" but nothing worked.
Finally I followed the part of post #4's cache clearing of Google and Google services apps cache (remember there is more than one cache) and then went through the Google Assistant set up as if it had never been working. That fixed my issues and has been working ever since. I'll see if the same problems arise after the next OTA. So I'd trying clearing the cache of those two apps EXACTLY as shown in the video.
Edit: I've applied OTA for v4.5.5 and have not had any Google Assistant issue

You have to clear the data cache for play services as well.
For those that got Google Assistant working are you having any issues such as those described below?
Trusted voice which enables Google Assistant from the lock screen does not work despite the proper settings in place
Creating a Google Assistant shortcut not works
IFTTT doesn't seem to work as advertised (I'm still working on this one)
I've had no end of small issues trying to customize Google Assistant but the main built in functions (e.g. weather, search, Spotify commands, open app) work perfectly.
Just curious about other people's experience. It leaves me feeling Google Assistant is just a beta program/work-in-progress on a phone or a tease to get you to buy a Google Home despite always having a much more capable device in the palm of your hand (your phone). I don't want an ugly Google Home "air freshener" when I already have an Android SD835/8GB phone.
When you say Google Assistant... Do you mean ok Google from screen off?

Google Assistant works with the screen off as long as the OP5 is NOT locked. Working while locked is supposed to work only when Trusted Voice is turned on. Unfortunately I have turned on trusted voice but Google Assistant will not initiate (work) when the OP5 is locked.
OK Google has a different interactive screen than Google Assistant. The OP5 OOS comes with OK Google but you need to manually activate Google Assistant before experiencing its advanced AI features. You would also see new Google Assistant specific settings at the top of the Google app->Settings->Google Assistant->(Settings, What can you do?).
One of the early posts in this thread has the link to manually activate Google Assistant.
Yeah, I have Google Assistant but I am pretty let down by the fact it doesn't work with the screen off and locked. I have heard it's a license that has to be paid to googs
Mine worked with no fuss. What doesn't work is the trusted voice and waking the phone up when the screen is off. That one I can't figure out

I've found a hacky workaround for this issue by using a combination of apps. First off I only use this method when I'm connected to the charger which is no different than the Trusted Voice limitations. Second my lock screen is only enabled when I'm not on a charger.
Use the Caffeine app to block the automatic lock screen. Check settings "Autoactive on USB", "Autoactive on USB type/AC charger", "Enable caffeine at boot".
Buy and install the app Screen Off (No Lock). I couldn't find a free app that turned off the screen but did not also lock it.
Then use the Google Assistant command "OK Google open screen off" to invoke turning the screen off but still having Google Assistant listening for my next command. I also use Tasker and it's Voice Assist plugin connection to Google Assistant so added the "start Screen off" as the last task in my Voice Assist profiles.

For the most part Google Assistant works for me but important features either lack reliability or don't work at all.
Google Assistant macros don't work at all despite built in GA commands working (e.g. play on Spotify)
I can't seem to make a IFTTT connection work
The connection between GA and Tasker's VoiceAssist is unreliable. Too often GA intercepts a regular Tasker Event phrase and displays a google search screen but the Tasker event for the phrase does not trigger. This despite the Tasker VoiceAssist toast displaying the correct event phrase. I'll try it a second time and this time it'll work despite GA recognizing the exact same phrase (not a variation).
I've been able to create some cool home theater (Harmony Hub) automation profiles but the unreliability has me wondering if I'm wasting my time. I really like the whole Google Assistant and the Tasker extension but am not prepared to continue developing things unless I can increase the overall stability.
It may just be my OP5 which is running OOS 4.5.5, rooted with SuperSU with Viper4Android installed. Other than that I've not altered the stock OOS experience. I've not even removed any bloat ware.
Does anyone have the Google Assistant macros and/or IFTTT working on their OnePlus 5?
I've previously posted that Google Assistant's macros didn't work for me but I received an update to the Google app v7.7.14.21.arm64 (Beta) and Google Assistant's macros are suddenly working. Even macros I'd previous entered but had never worked. I also added new ones and they also worked.
What stopped working was Tasker receiving the OK Google spoken commands, (no VoiceAssist toasts). I need to explore further as the newly functioning macros may be a far better way to integrate with Tasker. I'll likely retry the recommended Google Assistant/IFTTT/Tasker integration which also didn't work prior to this latest update.
It's working perfectly
Just did as it was said on the video. Everything works perfectly, including the "OK Google" detection while the screen is off. No problems whatsoever.
To Note: Even i changed the language back to English(UK) after all was setup, and works like a charm. :good:
