Failed Stock ROM flash - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I've got a Galaxy a3, model sm-a300FU.
It was bought in the UK and it came with the O2 provider.
I tried inserting a VODAFONE sim and it requested an unlock code.
I used ODIN to flash a Vodafone Portugal stock rom (A300FUXXU1BPC2_A300FUVFG1BPC1_TCL) but it failed giving this error:
Code:
<ID:0/008> hidden.img.ext4
<ID:0/008> FAIL! (Ext4)
Tried to boot and it said the firmware update encountered an error.
I used ODIN to flash TWRP, and managed to boot.
I have a TWRP backup from before flashing the vodafone rom which I used it to restore the failed rom flash.
My questions are:
1- how can i fix that ODIN error? is it because i used the wrong rom?
2- Do i have an incomplete firmware now or did the TWRP backup successfully restored the firmware?
2.5- If i have an incomplete flash, which stock rom should i use to go back to how it initially was?
3- Is it even possible to flash a rom from a different provider? I've read (after trying to flash) that it shouldnt work.

use smart switch from samsung if u wanty to go clean samsung .. using recovery code

You can't unlock your device by flashing a Vodafone rom. Its carrier locked which requires an unlock code to use a different sim.
The firmware actually flashed OK above, it failed at the carrier specific hidden.img.
That file can be omitted from the firmware or just flash then when it fails just boot to Download mode and flash twrp then wipe cache and it should boot fine.

[SOLVED] Need help after "Nand erase all"!

Hi guys!
It was a stupid move for me to check Nand erase all option, but i did it!
At first i was not able to go in to recovery menu, only in to donwload mode.
I flashed only a.pit file via Odin 3.09 and then i was able to get in to the Recovery mode - ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.7.
When i tried to wipe data/factory reset or to install zip i am gettinf error messages "Error mounting /data" or "Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure"
Then i tried to flash the stock 4.4.2 firmware via Odin, but i am getting FAIL message on the NAND WRITE step.
What i have to do now, to get back my phone in working order ?
Thank you in advance!
If it was me I would just flashed 4.2.2 firmware MDM (which have no bootloader files)
then 4.4.2
But this is just my opinion
so many times I fix my phone with this
but Knox on my phone was tripped
Currently Knox is 0x0 on my phone and all official and do not bother with custom ROMs because it makes no sense (they do not offer anything except headaches)

I can't flash it, because i am getting only:
Code:
<ID:0/004> boot.img
<ID:0/004> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
UPDATE!!!!
I have managed to flash new rom. I just checked again Nand erase option, this time with PIT and firmware in odin and it got passed!
But now i am in bootloop! The device is loading to the Samsung logo and it is freezing on it for a minute or two, then it is turning off.
Also i can't access the recovery!
UPDATE 2!!!
Finally, everything is fine runing!
I have flashed a stock recovery and i was able to get in to it and to wipe /data and /cache and i've got out of the bootloop!
So to summ it:
1. You have to download a propriet PIT file and firmware.
2. In Odin you have to load both of them and to check this options: Autoreboot, F.Reset Time and NAND ERASE ALL! Yes, you have to check Nand erase all, again!
3. If you got stuck in bootloop after the above steps, you have to get in to recovery and delete /data and /cache!

Note 4 - Not able to flash system

So, I purchased a damaged Note 4 and took the motherboard and put it in a Note 4 with broken motherboard. When booting up the phone the first time there was only TWRP and no system so I tried flashing it with original firmware but it failed. After this I've tried downloading ROMs and flashing through TWRP but it did not work. Recently I tried to follow this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...ebrick-img-t3488114/post69489251#post69489251
To reinstall the firmware on the phone and I've managed to flash boot, recovery and PIT(different flash) but it fails every time when flashing system. On the phone I had error message:
[9] eMMC write fail: SYSTEM
ODIN : flash write failure
and in Odin it said:
<ID:0/004> recovery.img
<ID:0/004> system.img.ext4
<ID:0/004> FAIL! (Write)
I've tried several times, changed the cable, different USB-ports, re-installing drivers, tried Odin 3.07 and 3.09 but get the same error every time. Also tried emergency reset through Smart Switch but it didn't worked either.
Now I've tried to install TWRP and if I try to boot into it I get directly to Download Mode and the to text says:
Could not do normal boot.
ddi: mmc_read failed
I have tried eveything I can think of and have had no success so far. Anybody who gan give some pointers on how to approach this? Or could it be hardware fault and I should just scrap the device? It's the European version, SM-N910F.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: If somebody gives me the solution that helps me get the phone working I can donate $25 through PayPal as thanks for the help
Ahh, the infamous eMMC memory error. It sometimes appears when flashing TWRP and a custom rom, but then never appears when flashing a stock rom. However, if it appears when flashing stock, then I'm sorry to say but it's a fatal hardware error: your memory is on its way out. Your only solution is to either replace the board or get a new device.
As the dude above implies. eMMC is destroyed. Note 4 and galaxy s3 had these problems... it's hardware based unfortunately...

note 4 stuck on odin

hello
i tried to flash a custom ROM tom TWRP and it fails, and after i rebooted the phone it starts normally, then i wanted to enter the recovery again to try flashing another zip files that i copied in the phone storage, i used 'android commander' to boot into recovery, but the phone takes me to the downloading mode, and now i can't start the system neither boot into recovery (every boot take to download mode)
i think the problem is in the bootloader, i've downloaded one from here:
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=26335
i tried to flash it from odin and i get:
<ID:0/015> Initialzation..
<ID:0/015> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/015> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/015> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/015> SingleDownload.
<ID:0/015> aboot.mbn
<ID:0/015> sbl1.mbn
<ID:0/015> rpm.mbn
<ID:0/015> FAIL! (Auth)
<ID:0/015>
<ID:0/015> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

after a time a found that the phone is booting normally again, i've installed the TWRP app and flashed the .img recovery (like i did before), but when booting into recovery it takes me to download mode.
i've noticed that in the recovery it is written in phone model: N910P and not N910F, i think the problem may be here, how to get it back to N910F?
yes, i tried to flash the stock ROM (i've downloaded it from sammobile.com) N910FXXU1DQHC_N910FBTU1DQH1_N910FXXS1DQA1_HOME.tar.md5 (android V6) and i get the same problem (auth).
this is my old ROM: N910FXXU1COH4
i've downloaded this: N910FXXU1COH4_N910FOXA1BOC3_alexndr.7z (android V5)
should i try to flash this and then i re-falsh the other one (i want to install a ROM that has android V6 or V7)?
You can use the Smart Switch for Samsung to get your original firmware - it requires the serial number of your phone.
At least you can have back the original OS. And see from there where do you want to go.

i finally could enter the TWRP recovery again
i tried this rom:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-resurrection-remix-5-8-0-t3523130
but it didn't work, i get 'error 7'.
What did you do to get back to TWRP???
I've tried to flash, failed a few times before success, but it was buggy, so I tried to go back to recovery to find I'm stuck in download mode permanently..... I've tried to force it out by using dr. fone and all other sorts but they all fail. IDK what to do..

in my first problem with this device, i could enter the recovery again after several tries, and i could flash a rom (lineage-14.1-20170825-UNOFFICIAL-trltespr) throught it.
now the phone is stuck again in download mode, and when i try to flash this rom: (N910FXXU1COH4_N910FOXA1BOC3_alexndr) i get: (There is no PIT partition)
i've downloaded the pit file of N910F, the phone was showing that my version is: N910FXXU1COH4, but in download mode it shows: N910P
i'm confused, what pit files should i use?
my phone is a gsm and not a cdma.

Yeah, I flashed Lineage on my phone successfully and I like the rom so Im just gonna stick with it, I've flashed a few others without a problem, not getting stuck, and I was also able to use a PC program to "force" it out of download mode.

Fully Updated Sprint G930P bootlooping after Odin flash - SW REV CHECK FAIL Error

I got this S7, wanted to flash 930U firmware to use T-Mobile but a failed flash has me in a boot loop. I fully updated before trying to flash, so it is I assume on the newest bootloader, etc.
I have attempted the newest firmware files that I can find (G930AUCS4BQL1) but am still getting the SW REV CHECK FAIL through Odin.
Are there files available that will fix this, do I just need to wait for them to come out, or have I bricked this thing?
Thanks for any help and have a great day!
Update:
- Using PrinceComsy Odin results in: FAIL! (Auth)
- USB Debugging is OFF and I am unable to boot to change that
- I am leaving the BL file blank in ODIN
perhaps you should try using offcial odin when flashing official images.
try version 3.12.3. whatever you do, don't use the princecomsy version unless for flashing engboot
