[Help] No SIM Card Detected, Can't connect wifi, No IMEI - Redmi Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After installing the OTA update of MIUI7 my Redmi Note (4G) Single Sim says "No SIM Detected" and I also can't connect to WiFi. My phone doesn't show any IMEI number or Infact it doesn't show any kind of phone data including MAC Address and all.
I thought the OTA might be buggy hence I rooted my phone, installed TWRP and flashed CM13 by dior. I thought by doing all this my problem would be solved but it isn't.
Anyone else who's faced such issue? Is there any solution to this?
Thanks.

Help please!!
Same here!!!:crying:

Follow Guidelines provided by EndLess
I also faced similar issue. Followed the guidelines provided by EndLess in below link all issues sorted. 3rd solution and then 2nd solution worked like a charm.:highfive:
1. Undetected Sim Card
2. unknown baseband version
3. Invalid IMEI

[Q] [I9500] Not registered on network after changing rom - Please help me

Hi xda team,
Sorry for my bad english. I have a serious problem on my SGS4 I9500 and I checked on this forum and web searching for solution but nothing :crying: .
I bought a SGS4 (I9500) 2 week ago. The phone was working without problem on KitKat 4.4.2 (sorry but I don't remember which version of KikKat) until i decide to change rom and to update to lollipop 5.0.1 (I9500XXUHOA7). After flashing my rom I can't make calls/sms and can't access to internet through 3G because my phone doesn't recognize my sim card. There is a message saying "Not registered on network" and IMEI was generic (starting by OOXXXX...).
So I checked on XDA and internet to find out the way to resolve this issue and I tried many things:
Change modem : I tried to change my modem to MODEM_XXUGNL1. IMEI back to normal (starting by 35xxxxxx...) but I still can't make calls/sms and connect 3G
Downgrade FW : I downgrade FW to KitKat I9500XXUFNB3 but IMEI was null/null. I change modem with Modem GNJ6 (Modem.bin). IMEI back to normal but I still can't make calls/sms and connect 3G because when I tried to call/sms I receive the same notification saying that "Not registered on network"
Register network manually : I tried to register network manually. My I9500 tell me that sim card is registered but when I try to call I see "Not registered on network"
Wipe data/cache : I wiped data/cache using Samsung recovery and philz_touch_6.12.8-i9500 but nothing :crying:
Note that my sim card is working fine on other smartphone and other sim cards not working on mine. Always the same message "Not registered on network" :crying: . And when I tried to call a sim card in my I9500, I hear ringing tone during call attempt but there is nothing on SGS4.
I'm disapointed and don't know What I have to do to repair this issue. I know that you are wonderful :good: and I hope that you will help me to find a solution for my S4.

No Sim error on VS980 with 6.0.1

On every recent 6.0.1 rom I'm having a problem with getting the sim card detected since the first boot. It got once recognized and registered on the network in RR rom but still in shows no service like in the screenshot. Also when I try to search for network it gives an error. On stock based roms or 5.1.1 ones there is no problem. If anyone has experienced this or know how to resolve it would be a great help.

SIM Card Not Detected

Hi, I've had some issues with SIM cards in my Mi A1.
I've tried rebooting and I've tried both SIM slots, but neither of them are detected. "No SIM card - No Service" shows at the top of the screen. There's nothing wrong with the SIM itself, it works fine in my old phone (a Redmi Note 3) so I'm not sure what to do now. Everything worked fine yesterday and I haven't dropped it, splashed it with water or anything since then.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks
hello brother please imei number check
hey
I'm having the same issue. How do you fixed it?
Thanks
I had this issue too, try restarting the device 2 or 3 times. If it doesn't work, try doing a factory reset.
was anyone able to fix their SIM issue?
my Mi A1 received an OTA update last month and the "SIM card not detected" msg
when I check my Network Settings, the menu options are all greyed out and i can't do anything with it
i've tried flashing many different versions of stock/custom ROMs
i've tried a variety of different SIM providers (Rogers, Koodo, Fido, etc)
i've even flashed a few modem versions to see if it would fix the signal (cuz that's how i used to fix my SGS2)
but nothing works... it's behaving as if there isn't a SIM card inserted at all
...which is leading me to believe that this could be a hardware failure
anyone with suggestions on how i can fix this? cuz otherwise, it's a great device... it runs AOSPExtended like a champ
thanks in advance

[SOLVED] IMEI and baseband unknown - unrooted device

Hi all,
My SM-G935F is not rooted and it has been bought network unlocked.
Yesterday I was browsing normally in 4G, the device became very slow and suddenly a message popped up "please insert SIM card". I have done the normal procedures of restarting and wiping cache partition which did not solve the problem.
In the meantime, I have tried the SIM on another device and it has worked properly.
I've noticed that the fields IMEI and IMEI DV are displayed as "Unknown".
I have searched for solutions but, because my phone is not rooted I'm not sure whether it applies to my case. Please note that I've made no change that could cause this issue, it has simply happened.
What could be causing this?
Try to reinstall the stock via odin. Maybe that will solve your problem. If not, it may be a hardware problem.

Thanks. I have installed latest firmware via ODIN successfully. However it did not solve the problem.
Baseband is also displayed as unknown.
If it is an hardware issue,is it repairable?

99% of the time, its a mobo replacement for this issue if it ends up being hardware related, and if a mobo replacement doesnt fix your issue, not much else will. Might as well strap it to a missile if a mobo swap doesnt fix it
SOLVED
Right, the problem has been solved for now.
I have taken multiple steps which have got me confused TBH, but I will try to recall them in detail:
(please note that before these steps I have attempted to flash latest firmware G935FXXS7ETA4 at least 3 times without CSC home before rooting)
1. I have rooted with CF Auto Root hero2lte
2. I have copied EFS, radio and nv_data.bin to a safe location in my PC.
3. Used latest TWRP flash.
4. Flashed latest firmware G935FXXS7ETA4 with Home CSC and that did not work.
5. Flashed latest firmware G935FXXS7ETA4 CSC only and after restarting a message popped up informing that the single SIM mode had been switched to DUAL SIM mode, and network signal was back on.
6. I have installed the app "phone info" which now indicates baseband version and original IMEI. Happy days!
Notes:
On the phone info app I get the following information displayed
Device Type:
hero2lite
Product Name:
hero2ltexx
Is it possible to change this back to the original name?
UPDATE
UPDATE
- Sometimes it switches from 4G to 3G ("E" symbol). 4G comes back on if I restart on safe mode.
- It disconnects from the network randomly, then it comes back on.
- Everything else works perfectly fine.
This is clearly an intermittent issue, could it be the modem hardware failing?

No SIM card error

Hi All,
Recently my one note 5 (N920I) experienced no SIM card error and i couldn't make any call or on data for my phone. I've tried below method but still couldn't solve the problem. Hopefully someone can help me or advise what i need to do. I haven't root my phone yet though. would factory reset solve my problem?
1. tried re-inserting the SIM card and retart the phone
2. tried to delete the cache data on the phone
3. tested SIM card is working on other phone
4. tried to check though the software/firmware details and found that baseband showing unknown
5. found IMEI is missing from my phone when entered *#060# but i'm able to retrieve my IMEI# through other means
i have that issue too, for some weird reason 2g seems to work. calls can be made and answered but mobile data only works on 3g or 4g or 5g.
if you set your phone on 2g only, it should recognize the sim card
